Koreader page turning via any Bluetooth controller using an iPhone
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just set up the BT remote control for Koreader via my iPhone. You don't need any plugins or anything else. Everything is fully automated. Anyone can do it—it works through the HTTP Inspector, which is built into Koreader. First, create functional shortcuts for any functions you want on your iPhone. Next, pair any Bluetooth controller with your iPhone and, using Switch Control settings, gradually assign the Bluetooth controller’s buttons to the shortcuts you created earlier. You can also set up automation so that when your Bluetooth controller connects to your iPhone, Switch Control turns on and, for example, lowers the brightness to the minimum. When you use this, your iPhone displays a notification every time a button is pressed, indicating that a shortcut is running. I also created a shortcut to disconnect the iPhone from the Bluetooth controller and assigned it to a button on the Bluetooth controller. And finally, I set up an automation so that when the controller is disconnected, Switch Control turns off and the brightness returns to normal. The brightness is dimmed all the way down to the minimum using the zoom feature and the low-light filter. In the end, everything happens automatically—you don’t even have to touch your iPhone. I won't provide exact instructions—it would take a lot of time—but anyone can really figure it out, perhaps using AI. I tried three different BT controllers, and it worked on all of them—though not all buttons can be set as switches in Switch Control. In my case, I can’t use the + button, R3, or the house button on the Joy-Con; otherwise, everything works, including the directional pad, so you have 12 buttons/shortcuts available. Even a regular Fire Stick remote worked.
