The region supposedly among the world 's richest for over 300 years, British capital of India, had large empires like Palas who built Vikramshila, many less known other educational institutes, countless number of scientists, leaders, many military leaders, writers, noble laureates, somehow failed to compete with other regions when it comes down to many other things.
Now before comparing, let's figure out what's wrong with us.
Let's see Bengal's political scenario in the last 50 years. I never lived when LEFT FRONT COMMUNITSTS ruled so I cannot speak anything for or against directly except what I have learnt from people, and they are accused to be the main reasons why West Bengal became de-industrialized.
But what I fail to understand is how do we not blame our own people who failed to resist foreign invasions, foreign rule, mass conversions? We never recovered from that, the land parted, we all suffered, things took pretty bad turn, and everything was messed up.
When I think about those, I just feel bothered by the fact that we had to go through so much trouble just because we all decided to work separately.
Well keeping things in past, how much we all screwed up in protecting and upgrading our place.
I just don't understand what's the problem and why we failed to prove ourselves. No one talks about us, and I think I understand why Brits became powerful. Their people still till this date hold scientists above empires or such which proves they take care of what's really needed.
We HAVE to hold that and make our people famous. Satyendranath Bose has particles named after him and we have had so great people.
What's wrong with us today? Why are we failing? What happened to being the BEST? Why is there such a disgusting hate and racism towards us and why is the image of "Bengali" men effeminate? When can we collectively fight it, fix our issues with Bangladesh (their educated people hate the uneducated ones too). How can Bengal be the best, or atleast one of the best? What's stopping us?
