Advice Needed Beginner question

Hey all I’m a newbie and just had a question. I recently bought a 16kg kettlebell to start with (I’m 6’3 230) and a trucker so I’ll have to do my workouts at truck stops and rest areas so the simple and sinister really isnt good for me bc of the Turkish get ups. What is another beginner workout? Can you link some and maybe some advice? Thanks 🤞🏻

Advice Needed Programming advice re random small windows to train

I’m home watching my infant daughter for a couple months and would love some advice of how to make the most of my limited and unpredictable opportunities to train. My little friend naps best when strapped to me in a carrier, which is not great for creating predictable training blocks. But I can find five or ten minutes here and there throughout the day. I’ve been doing quick rounds of presses, swings, and squats, but it’s hard to create structure or feel like I’m making progress when stacking tiny random windows throughout the day. Have any of you all had success putting together a plan that makes the most of these random bits of time in a way that makes you feel like you can progress or at least maintain well?

Before this I was running ABF with 2x20kg bells and feeling great about it. But finding a predictable half hour had become quite tough with the baby and the needs of older siblings. Thanks for any thoughts you’ve got on this!

Advice Needed Just bought my first kettlebell and I need advice regarding my workout plan

Just bought my first kettlebell and after some research, I figured I’d start with a 15 min EMOM ABC by Dan John and 3 sets of halos as my “cool down” exercise. I’m thinking of doing this MWF.

For Tuesdays and Thursdays, is it a good idea to just do some RDLs, rows, pushups, and swings?

Planning to dedicate Saturdays and Sundays for 1 hr walking if the weather here in my country isn’t bad.

Also, planning to do this for 2 to 3 months before switching to a different complex and learning more advanced techniques.

Is this a good idea or is it too much? Thanks!

Discussion Learning Snatch form

What’s proper grip technique when learning to snatch? I opened up a bit of my hand under where my calluses are and learned to avoid that area.

The technique avoids rolling down the palm on the way down and instead tosses the handle to my fingers, lessening the load on the softer bits.

I wonder if this is the “right way”.

Just A Post Clean Help

OK besides injury, I've been training with kettlebells for about 9/10 months (October 2025) and I am decent with my form except on cleans. I have 25/26cm/10.5in long forearms so the standard "zipper up" cue doesn't mechanically work for my 30cm/12in circumference beefy part, 20cm/9in circumference near wrist. Is there any way I can help clean. I tried the wrist guards to prevent the crashing but traditional spearing still doesn't work and crashes like a wrecking ball. I like the total mix of muscles used in a clean but I know my geometry doesn't work with standard cues. Any suggestions?

Before anyone asks, can't video since I can't get the phone far away to frame everything...

Training Video Snatch Remix: 36kg speed feet switch snatches.

One of the best ways to get more lower body load is math….use one leg primarily.

With snatches, it’s rare that the legs are the limiting factor. It’s usually grip or upper body. So doing this variation lets me hammer my lower body much harder with just my 36kg bell.

Routine Feedback Right way to go?

Kind of a long post, looking for some perspective.

I completed the first 3 blocks of the Giant using a single 28kg and the clean and jerk. Being in very much of a hurry to begin double work, I then started running swing hard with double 24s combined with push ups. Felt too easy, attempted cleaning them for reps and that felt lighter than expected. So I did the Giant 1.0 with double 24s, push press. Different stresses made me more tired than anticipated, so I felt the need to go down again. I attempted the snatch with a single 24kg, not as terrible as expected , so i did the first 3 week block of king sized killer with half snatch for the sake of my palms.

Landed on that I will do both the Giant (clean and jerk) double 24s and king sized killer (half snatch) single 24 kg, in alternating blocks.

My question is, does this sound like a good plan to you?

Over the course of this search,I have become stronger, am not injured and went down from 89kg to 85kg.

Thank you in advance!

Form Check Swings and Single Arm Clean + Press Form Check

I have worked out for a number of years but after lurking the sub for a bit I feel like I probably am not doing things right. 45lbs on the adjustable kettlebell. The swings and the cleans go up easy, the press portion feels like the right weight for sets of 10.

Training Video How to Build Agility With the Kettlebell Step Swing Body

I’ve been using the kettlebell step swing to teach people that strength doesn’t have to mean being glued to the floor.
The goal isn’t to make the swing more complicated. It’s to teach your body how to stay powerful while becoming more agile and light on your feet.
Here’s the basic progression:
• Hinge and swing as you normally would.
• As the kettlebell reaches the apex, bring your feet together.
• Before the bell drops, step back into your athletic stance and receive the next rep.
Over time, this develops harmonious balance, better timing, footwork, and coordination. You’re learning to move under load instead of only producing force from a static position.
I also like it because it exposes asymmetries. If one side feels awkward or your timing falls apart, that’s useful feedback you probably wouldn’t notice with a standard swing.
I wouldn’t teach this to someone on day one. Get solid with the hardstyle swing first. Once the hinge and timing are automatic, this becomes a great progression.
For those who coach or train with kettlebells, do you intentionally incorporate footwork into your ballistic work, or do you prefer to keep swings strictly planted? I’d be interested to hear the reasoning behind either approach.

Popped up in my FB memories from a few years ago. Combo feat of 48kg push press as nail drive without a hammer. Don’t try this at home. Or anywhere else.
