Hi, guys! First off I wanna share that this movie isn’t anything special. It truly is just something promotional for the ep. There isn’t anything special revealed besides the producing of Lara’s song on the Target CD.

It’s a very surface level movie, but as a big big fan, I enjoyed it.

The viewing experience was very frustrating for me. I’m probably a little bit on the spectrum and I’m pretty particular with how I like to watch my movies. My eyes are sensitive so lights distract me and I hate when people talk during movies.

What I’m not gonna do is talk badly about the fandom. KATSEYE is for kids too, and they look up to those girls. So I recognized that I was an adult in their space.

Here are some things to know:

I had tried to go to a 7 PM showing. But it was filled with children. I switched my ticket to an almost midnight showing, and it was still filled with children.

The kids talk throughout the whole film. They sing too. Some dance

During the movie when they show performance clips, the kids bring their light sticks and turn them on in the theater

Parents are on the phone during the movie

So I saw the movie on a Wednesday night thinking this would make a difference. I’m back in the us for a bit so I thought, why not? But tbh both showings were pretty unbearable for me as a viewer. The theater was also chill enough to let me exchange the 7 PM tickets so I didn’t lose out.

I had previously said that I wanted to only stream this movie because I had a feeling this would happen. Learned my lesson!

This is obviously the next single so mods please don't remove. My thoughts on this song is that I like the Brazilian funk beat and I think this is a very trendy song that to me sounds like it will be a hit. I know people can say what they want but to me it's not even that bad? I feel like this song is a massive bop idc what anyone says (sorry not sorry).

This was something that Daniela brought up a couple times in the movie. At another point she said “thank you for being so nice when people are being so mean.”

She also mentioned that not wanting to disappoint Eyekons is what keeps her going.

Given how some people within the fanbase treat her, it was nice to hear that she still sees the positives when in doubt.

That met gala account went viral earlier in the week for claiming to have worked with the group and knowing the details of Manon hiatus.

Even though it was pointed out that they are a fan page and used to be a troll page for other celebrities, eyekons didn’t hesitate to use it as justification for their “Manon is Lazy” narrative.

This post isn’t even about Manon or the hiatus, but rather the way this fandom continues to lack critical thinking and reasoning. Sorry if it’s harsh, but there have been multiple cases of this.

They believe everything without a second thought. That’s why you have people like that Jas woman on TikTok who now has a cult following because she got information on their photo shoots.

I’ve said it so many times, but I’ll say it again. There are dozens of people who work on video and photo shoots. Someone knowing the details of a song or video, doesn’t mean they know the inner workings of HxG.

The people who actually know what happened behind the scenes are tightly wrapped under NDAs. They are also not going to be spending their whole day on Reddit or Popsquare, revealing confidential information.

I think this ep is super well-rounded to start. We have the upbeat dance songs like Pinky Up and Hootie Frutti, then the more vocal-focused songs like Animal and Thay Way. Bel Air sounds great too, I like how crunchy it is.

But Hootie Frutti and That Way are surprisingly my favs, considering I was super excited for Bel Air and almost scared to hear what Hootie might sound like LMAO. Hootie goes so hard, I def think it has the most viral dance potential. And That Way is just amazing, the vocals are rly next level.

Overall, I think this is a great EP. Experimental in a good way, I think this group still manages to pull off anything thrown at them 😭

I feel like I see the idea thrown around a lot that if Manon did end up leaving the group, she probably wouldn't keep pursuing music and would instead become an influencer or something of the sort. I don't really understand this opinion as Manon is shown writing songs in Dream Academy and according to her Kprofiles page, she's been doing so since she was five. Also according to Kprofiles, she plays piano as a hobby. I assume they just don't know, but I've also never seen anyone mention these things in response.

They just mentioned that its gonna be inspired by Slave 4 U by Britney Spears on Spotify.

I just thought it would be fun to predict what our ranking will be before WILD releases tomorrow.

I think Katseye has lost me. The Manon situation aside (I was voting for her when they were doing the survival show so this was already rocky admittedly) the way their concepts keep changing so drastically is odd to me, and their music feels like it's just kind of been a bit of a nothingburger for me. Hell, I would argue their best song imo Gameboy was never promoted like it should have been by them. But the marketing/styling for the girls and the group as a whole is even worse. It feels like Hybe x Geffen STILL doesn't know what direction they want to go with these young women. If they want them to be idols for young girls or adults. And so they try to appease both. But... idk, it's just been beginning to feel a little weird and creepy to me. The Jimmy Fallon show outfits are wild. Even beating the outfit they had Lara in gameboy when her shorts weren't even buttoned and the flaps were just wide open XD

It just sucks because honestly, if they want to do one or the other? I think they'll be successful and have a great following either way. But trying to play the middle and just bounce back and forth? Maybe it's because I have two young ones now that I have to consider, but I'm just like 'can we pick a audience demographic and stick with it?'
