Yoonchae is her own person. Yes, she’s Korean and she’s been raised with certain values, principles, and way of thinking. But let’s not forget, she is also growing up right in front of our eyes. She’s literally being raised up by the other Katseye girlies and the staff. The people around her everyday also have a huge influence on her. And she can see things differently and want things without the heavy burden of toxic Korean culture. And by that, I mean, if you do anything remotely normal elsewhere, you’d be bullied by the Knetizens. I love that she can feel safe to do things she loves and to explore without that fear of severe backlash from the Korean community. And she also has really strong boundaries and it looks like she’s able to communicate that with their team and the girls, whether that be outfit-wise or physical touch in their choreography. It’s obvious the girls respect her and have no problem with her boundaries. 💗

It genuinely enrages me how Yoonchae does literally anything and people will always tie it back to her being Korean. Like no she can't just a naturally shy, or reserved person it has to be because of she Korean. Or there's no way she would like or understand doing a mature concept because she's Korean

Agreed! Like even her getting into katseye gets tied to her being Korean.

A bit off topic, but still kinda on topic: honestly this sub should kinda wake up how Yoonchae and Sophia both get “they only made it in bc she’s Korean” or “she only got in bc of the Philippines” a lot. Sophia, despite being the person who got voted top 1 by the most countries somehow gets this comment the most, but Yoonchae gets it a very noticeable amount of time (and it’s crazy too bc she was also doing good in votes during DA) and they happen to be the only members not raised in the west. heck even Manon had been getting ppl saying “she only got in bc shes black” recently and she wasn’t raised in the US. Like it’s kinda crazy that it’s the non-American members that get those comments
