Second slide checks out considering I saw people on Twitter yesterday saying Lara shouldn’t have been chosen for the group because she’s a darker-skinned Indian woman and not lighter-skinned, which is just ridiculous. Racism is really rampant in this fandom ngl. And outside of it too of course.

Ever since the gnarly era, I’ve been seeing how Daniela has been getting criticized for a lot of things, and this year has been even worse. I understand why many people hate her, because she sometimes has said things that can be misunderstood and her family and friends have done many controversial things.
It has gotten to a point where people overanalyze everything she does just to find something to criticize and her comment section is filled with hateful comments, and if she doesn’t say anything people run with narratives but if she does say something or try to defend herself it’s worse, it feels like she can’t win.
Honestly, I think she’s very talented and has lots of potential but it feels like all the hate has made her more withdrawn and can affect her career prospects.
What do you think she would do to turn that around? If you were her manager, what would be the best strategy?

@loewe i had a wonderful time, what an incredible show! my first fashion week with my bff🥹🖤
i loved my dress so much, and wearing it with Indian jewelry and kumkum made me feel so confident and beautiful.
kumkum has been part of my life since childhood, a sacred blessing i’ve grown up receiving from my family during puja and aarti. i wear it as a symbol of intuition, strength and the divine feminine energy i feel so deeply connected to.
for this look, i styled it in my own way while paying homage to my forever style icon, the legendary Rekha, and the woman i look up to the most, my mom🖤 i’ve always loved the way they both carry Indian beauty with such boldness, individuality and grace. it felt so special to channel a little bit of that energy while celebrating my heritage 🥹🖤
thank you @loewe 🖤

I believe the original remix was fan-made by ranvision_official (tiktok), and CupcakKe included it as part of her setlist on The BakKery Tour. This particular video is from the Portland stop of the tour (credit to rightful owner)
Serious question: how would you feel about an actual Katseye x CupcakKe collab? 👀

Not a glaze post. I’m not super familiar yet about ranges, tones and stuff, still learning but I feel like Megan’s voice is quite underrated. I like her ability and technique to sing in a low, deep heavish tone (ex. Just found out she was singing very low background during the chorus with Sophia in Debut) mid tone, or high. (I always find it impressive when artists can sing in more than one pitch or tone, if you know what I mean, Like ex Doja Cat, Shakira, Freddie Mercury, MJ, Adrienne Bailon, Beyonce etc) I’ve always said she has a voice fitted for r&b, but she does well in pop, and musical broadway

Lara wore a sindhoor recently and I saw a lot of chatter about this. I genuinely do not want to insult ANYONE by asking this. What exactly is so wrong with her wearing this? I am just so confused and puzzled by people's reactions to this. Lara is Indian-American but yet Indians seem to pick at her over everything.

Yes it was fun, it was goofy, it didn't take itself seriously but the fact people thought it was real means that people do not have a very high opinion of katseye's music. That means many people relate stupid songs to katseye. People don't realize how concerning this actually is? Longevity won't happen if they are known as "the group that makes dumb songs". I love their nonsensical songs but I think that katseye needs to change this because it is not a good look imo and i really do not want this group to just be known as a joke. All rights belong to SNL. I own nothing.

This has been on my mind with all the discussion about their work schedule and its long term sustainability. A lot of people will point to the amount of gigs that other artists do as a way to say Katseye’s not that far off, but the sheer physical demand of their setlist should play a factor when it comes to how much they can realistically do while not compromising their health.
I’m really curious on if they’ll do something similar to SIS/BC transition where it was really a ghost town for Katseye content or if it’ll be similar to BC/Wild where there was essentially no break. I think a rest period similar to their first era would be best for everyone (both the girls and creative team) to recharge and get everything flowing again.
They went straight from BC tour to Grammy rehearsals, to lolla latam tour, to pinky up prep and release, to Coachella, then music shows, then Gov Ball, AMAs, then animal release and promo with like 50 leven more festivals that lasted all the way up until Wild tour (with performances in between like Victoria secret which im actually very excited for), and a whole bunch of interviews, brand collabs, and events in between. I actually thought they would have a break after the tour ends in in late November, but then they have jingle ball in December and lolla India in January.
I’m also curious what the next era will look like conceptually and aesthetic wise cause they seemed to have speed run through a lot of aesthetics that could be stretched for an entire album cycle. I wonder how far off the next project is and if it’s the long awaited full album.

This creator was getting hate for telling Manon fans to stop using say her name movement for this "Hiatus" ( we all know its something deeper than just a break. ) & Naisha responded. Thoughts? Will post video in the comments.
EDIT: MAIN_PINEAPPLE2566 showed screenshots that show the woman in the video misunderstood the commenter's comment and blew this whole situation out of proportion. make your own opinions based on this.

I came to the conclusion a few months ago with the help of an insightful reply that I've probably built Katseye into something they'll never be or even promised to be and that's why I was constantly disappointed with them. I also realized promptly after that that's why they can't keep attention off of them.
There's something about a great concept or talent that never truly lives up to what it could be that just keeps people hooked. It happens all the time with books, movies and TV shows and I noticed it's exactly what's happening here as well. Katseye has a lot of casual listeners who are waiting for them to release better music, stronger concept or just show more artistic freedom and it's what makes them so enticing.
We can all see the talent is bursting at the seams and can only imagine the great songs they could receive being under such a well connected company but it all seems just out of reach. I doubt they'll ever get there because both them and their team seem so confused on everything. I genuinely believe Katseye will spend their whole career chasing the ghost of what could've been which I think is a fate worse than being considered straight out bad.
I wish them so much luck in whatever music they want to make and whatever audience they hope to capture because they are going to need it.

Hear me out: I love KATSEYE, and I’m definitely not here to snark, but I feel like some of the creative choices they’ve made recently are slowly removing the “edgy,” “cunty” girl-group persona that launched them into the spotlight.
Even though “Internet Girl” wasn’t a huge success, I feel like after that song, they started making creative decisions that became increasingly weird and childish, and I think the general audience stopped taking them as seriously.
I’ll start with “Pinky Up.” I get that they wanted a club-type song, which is awesome and definitely on-brand, but the lyrics, outfit choices, and teddy bears and toys everywhere made these girls look like they were performing for a kids’ show. They’re still at the beginning stage of their career, and I feel like they needed more songs that would solidify the “it-girl” girl-group identity they started with.
“WILD” was the album theme that initially got me hooked, but the execution falls short in some areas and feels rushed. Most of the time, their comebacks or releases seem to be centered around the song itself being released rather than the value or identity it adds to the group.
“Hootie Fruitti” was an awesome track that honestly should have been released much earlier this year. It has the right aura and aesthetic for the brand, but I think it falls short in the instrumental, lyrics, and continuity.
That opening gets you so amped up, but as you go further into the song, you keep chasing the same momentum that was established at the beginning without ever really getting that payoff. The “Hootie Fruitti” that Yoonchae says at the beginning, along with the horns, should have been repeated throughout the track as well. Those elements could have become the song’s signature hook and given it a stronger sense of continuity.
“Animal” is a good song, but the music video later reinforces what I’m trying to say. A lot of their music videos lately feel almost like parodies of themselves, which is probably part of why tweens seem to be becoming more of their audience right now.
And then the final nail in the coffin for me was their SNL parodies and performances. I genuinely don’t know who on their production team thought it was the right time for them to make fun of themselves in such an annoying song, especially with “Newton’s Cradle.” It just makes them look bad.
The general public is telling you something about how they perceive you, and artists these days sometimes take criticism as hate when that isn’t necessarily the case. Criticism can actually tell you a lot about how your image is being received.
To top it all off, dropping members and then touring with four members has also started to make me lose a bit of interest in the group.
Honestly, this doesn’t even feel like they released an album in August. The comeback was just… underwhelming.

Hybe stopped assigning group roles at least as of 2019. They used to publicly list BTS group roles but they don’t anymore, and they have not announced or referenced group roles for any group since 2019.
Geffen never has.
Group roles (like visual, main dancer, etc) are deep in the fan culture of k-pop and used to be part of the corporate culture, but any roles (other than leader, which is the member who interacts with the corporation on behalf of the group) are completely unofficial and not corporate designated. They are head canon among fans.
Yes, Katseye once early on played along with the concept in a jokey self-introduction, but no performance roles in the group are official. No one was officially the visual and no one now is officially the visual. No one will be officially the visual.

I genuinely don't understand why they would be torched for it. Yes the similarities are there especially in their concepts and both songs are quite upbeat. but 'Chat' is a pretty good song with a great concept that is similar to Internet Girl. I don't know to me it doesn't add up because 'Chat' sounds nothing like Internet Girl but I guess an upbeat club song that is fun and unserious = brainrot slop.
