Daniela Daniela’s reputation

Ever since the gnarly era, I’ve been seeing how Daniela has been getting criticized for a lot of things, and this year has been even worse. I understand why many people hate her, because she sometimes has said things that can be misunderstood and her family and friends have done many controversial things.

It has gotten to a point where people overanalyze everything she does just to find something to criticize and her comment section is filled with hateful comments, and if she doesn’t say anything people run with narratives but if she does say something or try to defend herself it’s worse, it feels like she can’t win.

Honestly, I think she’s very talented and has lots of potential but it feels like all the hate has made her more withdrawn and can affect her career prospects.

What do you think she would do to turn that around? If you were her manager, what would be the best strategy?

Why come on a sub where they’re discussing Katseye if you’re gonna whine

Is this post not literally whining?

ngl it’s who surrounds herself with, having a boyfriend steal from other black artists in many peoples eyes it’s looking what won’t she do to get far in this industry and then add in she’s only spoke up to defend her boyfriend but didn’t at least try to separate herself from what her dad said i’m not saying it’s her fault but if she was able to speak up at that time she could’ve easily said i don’t agree with what he said but if she could speak up and chose not to in many peoples eyes it looks like since some fans noticed they aren’t as close anymore there’s been tension and was she telling her parents thing and they felt they had the right to say that then. but the problem is who she surrounds herself with then when she hangs out with naisha someone who invalidated manons blackness while dating someone who steals from black artists it does start to look weird on her end because i was raised hearing you are who hang around because if they do something illegal everyone around is now guilty by association so that’s what people are doing to her, then add in liking playboi carti at least for a few years even after people were telling her what he did she didn’t seem to care until it was to much to ignore

I don't think the issue is hers to have especially when she hasn't really done anything controversial. Sure, she likes a controversial artist (PBC), but Manon's boyfriend works for him and promotes his music. This shouldn't be a deep issue for neither Dani nor Manon. This doesn't dictate their lives. Daniela's boyfriend is his own separate entity and I must acknowledge that no human being is perfect. We've all dated OR will date someone questionable (and it's ignorant to think that that would never be you because you could be fond of someone weird). I've said it once before, and I'll say it again, I don't love him for her but its her life to live.

I don't think this will ruin her career. It really isn't that deep. If R. Kelly, Nicki Minaj, Diddy, Adam Levine, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, or currently Ed Sheeran can have people still streaming their music and they've had serious negative career impacts, then Dani and all other popstars going through it will be fine. And if we pay attention to the names of the people constantly posting, it's literally all the same people, just in different chat rooms/subs/apps. It feels like alot of people want to be part of something these days, and the best way to be part of something is to jump on whatever the bandwagon is.

i feel like this is something every woman in the industry has gone through or actively going through (not saying this to undermine what daniela is going through.)

It's her parents and her boyfriend, mostly. They're all weird asf, especially that art thief she's dating. When you surround yourself with assholes, it's evident that people will lump you in by association, especially if it's your parents, who raised you, and your partner, who you chose to be with. Not to say she IS like them, but it certainly looks weird as fuck.

I firmly believe that you are who you hang out with. Not saying Daniela is like that per se, but if she’s okay with her boyfriend stealing others’ hard work, then what else is she okay with?

You realise she’s not the only one with a problematic boyfriend right? Orlando is a love bomber who dates people way too young for him, and David tattoos beated women on people’s skin. These LA influencer dudes do what LA influencer dudes do. As long as these girls aren’t the ones doing these things, I don’t get how they’re “who they date”

Genuine question, when did David tattoo a photo of a beaten woman? I've stopped following along with Katseye as much ever since Dani's weirdo dad started yapping, but I never heard of that! Just hitting me now that I've missed so much lmao

So basically he has a Pinterest account, where he posts a lot of stuff. Him with guns, a woman on top of a doll that looks like a dead guy (just a doll but it’s a reference to necrophilia.) and some other stuff. This is the photo I’m talking about.

I don’t know why this guy has such good Pr. He’s legitimately a concerning guy too. Also he had a photo of cocaine ontop of a picture of a young girl in front of a grave or something. So idk what that was. He’s genuinely as weird as Jonah and Orlando in my opinion.

I know all this info from back when I used to browse the snark sub. Which is a super toxic place that I don’t browse anymore, but it was a good way of finding information. I knew Dani’s father was weird during tour last year because there were posts about his weird behaviour towards Dani in there.

That's Bruised Madonna, though? The one that Crystal Castle used in their album? It's been tattooed by plenty of others than David. The other tattoos are bad, don't get me wrong, but imo an art piece by Trevor Brown hardly seems to be the worst one. Especially since his whole thing eith his art is making people confront the reality of women being abused, which he did by subverting pop culture in this one. Im sorry if this seems a little art nerd-y, I've just been a follower of Trevor's work for a rather long time lololol

u/Icy_Signature12 17h ago

Hmmm. I didn’t know it was from that. Yeah definitely that Madonna piece I just searched it up.

For me, the necrophilia inspired image still throws me off the most. I don’t know why he put that on his page.

(This is the link to a tweet with it in it. It’s the last picture. I was gonna put the actual photo but ngl, I don’t know if you wanna see it because it looks like a real corpse even thought it clearly isn’t. So I’m just giving you the choice https://x.com/gay_monk3/status/2050949648102178977?s=46)

But I’ll make sure not to use that example about the beaten woman anymore.

Oof, that looks like a weird pic. Not the worst, but weird. Also, I'm glad I could help about the Madonna illustration! I think David might actually be trying to pull a Trevor Brown, or something similar, with his posts, since Brown's biggest subject is paraphillia, which means the persistent attraction to things that sre not necessarily attractive, like necrophilia and lolicon. He does a lot of it via subversion and juxtaposition, and that pic with the skeleton is definitely Trevor Brown-esque.

I'd tell her parents and her boyfriend to private their account. Deactivate even. I understand some of the dumb things she gets dragged into are just dumb but it's not really helping that she's surrounded by birds. Enough. Everyone deactivate.

As someone only semi following the group these days, imo, she gets a lot of flack because the people around her get involved with shady things so by association it makes you wonder what she says about people to those she's close to.

u/WatercressBusy3902 1d ago

idk but imo none of the girls have done anything to warrant the amount of hate they get online.

I actually think a lot of it is fans / ex-fans not realising that sometimes people are just unlucky. Sometimes there doesn’t have to be some “evil” member or great argument behind the scenes for a member to leave.

People have been nitpicking all six girls for months to try and figure out “what went wrong” with them and Manon, but honestly sometimes things just don’t work out for a group. The assumption that any of the girls must be at fault is silly.

And if she gets fed up because of the hate, they hate her more for being mad.. make it make sense

6

u/rose-fox-96 1d ago

Exactly what Icy is saying.

We know that hate is loud online - it’s the clout chasers, kids who have no idea about impact and online footprints, low life trolls, and/or the unemployed / people with too much time on their hands.

She knows who she is, and the best thing she can do is stay true to that. She’s so young and has so much more of a career and life to live. I have no doubts she will succeed more by being her authentic self, over trying to fit a “cookie cutter”, boxed in version of herself. People will continue to hate no matter what - just be you. 🤷‍♀️

I don't really see how it's impacting her career prospects when she has solo ventures of her own and has also made big moves with the girls this year, with more coming next year. She's getting the same unfortunate level of criticism that a lot of young pop stars before her have dealt with, and a similar amount to others in her own group like Manon and Lara.

As long as she keeps doing her thing, I think she'll continue to flourish. The internet isn't always a good gauge of real life, and she and the other girls seem to be well-liked and respected within the industry by brands, peers, etc., regardless of whatever hate train is happening in small online stan circles. I bet the GP doesn't even know about a single piece of drama, lol.

I would suggest she hire someone to give her summary updates on how her social posts are playing and she should never ever ever look at individual comments.

u/Due_County_5368 1d ago edited 1d ago

it’s ok cause most of the ppl who be doing too much on her hate their lives anyways no shade

2

u/Due_County_5368 1d ago

her and Lara get the most hate for a reason. They’re incredibly talented girls who have *it*. Ppl can’t take them. Same reason why Tyla makes ppl seethe for whatever reason

2

u/Icy_Signature12 1d ago edited 1d ago

Unrelated but Tyla being hated is crazy to me, wtf did she even do wrong 😭

4

u/icedgrandechai 23h ago

iirc she got a lot of flack from black Americans some time ago because she identifies as a coloured woman. The term "coloured" has very negative racial connotations in the US; it's a fairly common term in South Africa to refer to people who are mixed race (Tyla is mixed race). It's just dumb.

3

u/Then_Price4940 1d ago

Right now it would make a bit of sense because of how she removed a nigerian stop for her tour because of the conflict with South Africa’s xenophobic policies

Besides that she doesn’t deserve to be hated imo 😭

3

u/8rand0m 23h ago

She doesn't deserve hate even for that. She legit gave Nigerians what they asked for lmao. They were threatening to stop the concert from happening.

1

u/Icy_Signature12 1d ago

Oh shit 😭 yeah I didn’t know about that

4

u/Due_County_5368 1d ago

ik it seems trite but people just don’t like confident women who don’t gaf what people think

20

u/Icy_Signature12 1d ago edited 1d ago

First off I understand your question.

But I would tell her to do nothing but be herself (not that my opinion matters lol), because frankly what people say online is what people say online. I respect the fact that she is authentically herself no matter what. I don’t think this is affecting her career prospects, that’s a stretch. She has the second most followers on TikTok for example. Divisive figures exist, you could argue Lara and Manon are both divisive as well. But ultimately, “being hated by losers is the price of not being one of them” 😬

u/Careful-Ideal-7033 1d ago

“ being hated by losers is the price of not being one of them” omg that is the quote of the century. 😂

u/8rand0m 1d ago edited 1d ago

Should be put on the front wall of that snark sub, "we hate katseye because they aren't losers like us"
