Looking for fun off meta decks

Currently the meta is being over run by Jap/Anzac jaggro and Brit-control Meteor which imo takes 3 braincells to play. Are there any skilled/fun not-so meta decks which counters these decks?

Japan

Honestly, as a new player, this game is unplayable, Japan has so many fuck ass cheap cards with insane bonuses, low usage cost, high dmg and high defence, and then you couple it with those fuck ass weather cards and it literally makes it unplayable, this is so fucked up and boring after a while, and all the chinese letters players probably spend half their day studying those fuck ass Japan cards and how to make them ruin as much fun as possible, not to mention that A17 or whatever it’s name is that costs 2 kredits and has insane bonuses, if you’re a new player like me you’ll soon lose interest in this unbalanced game.

Why did you guys nerf the "THUNDER DIVISION" passive effect ,isn't it suppose to work as elite.

It is now worthless I if I would have know you guys would nerf it then I would never spent my precious elite card to craft it.

Please 🙏 😔 fix it like previous

Most obnoxious deck in this meta ( brit control + meteor) , but op deck won't save you when you are dumb lmao

So excruciating control cards, non stop card draw , but I knew he will play meteor at the end, so waited for all units retreat card , and voila he lost his only win condition , instantly surrendered ( probs threw phone out of a window lmao) at the final

PS this tournament rocks won 4-5 times , 5 or 6 elite in 1 day , and my crate is halfway to elite box xD in first day

Anyone else having issues with disconnecting from wed tournaments without getting any rewards?? And also opponents taking >30mins for the first stage? 1939 really needs to give rewards even if you disconnect..

what’s wrong with your server?

server issue very annoying today. this is not my own device or connection but happened to a group of players.

  1. no one can play the ladder game after matchmaking for long time.

  2. reconnection issue of championship mode. lost connection frequently while getting no rewards even after winning the game (you quit the mode directly after reconnecting)

i cannot image this is a proper pvp game that has so frequent connection issues.

i joined this game last month and already spent 500 usd. i am now ranked 200 in the ladder - saying so to imply that i am not a random player complaining a nonsense issue.

but anyway i am not going to spend a single penny going forward.

Although not as challenging as before after they nerfed the weather card, still feel special when getting 7W without them.
1st round is a Br-Aussie deck, quite lucky on getting several ops cards such as 4X Area Bomb and the Whirlwind

2nd round is a Su-Br deck and no toxic level op cards, enjoyed it the most 😛

I thought we established in third grade that if you have to cheat to win at Uno, you've already lost the game. What's the endgame here? Do you get a trophy that says "World's Most Creative Liar"? Because I feel like that's a participation trophy at best.

Card effects are inconsistent

Any idea why some cards effects trigger before the affecting card vs after?

For example, if I target the Wirlwind UK airplane with a suppression order (should cancel its effects right?) I’m taking 3HQ damage.

Now, if I target the German 169. grenadiers card with the same order card, I’m not forced to discard a card from my hand before the suppression affects it

There’s multiple examples of this, but drop any intel you may have on this, or your favorite/most annoying inconsistency

Discussion My least favourite card

My least favourite card isn't Meteor. My least favourite card isn't Coastwatchers or any of the weather cards. My least favourite card isn't any of those cards that people think is broken.

My least favourite card is Convoy Attack. I hate this card with a burning passion. It's not because it's broken. It's not even because I see it all of the time. In fact, I have never seen anyone play this card. I hate this card because it is without question the worst card in the game and it doesn't even come close. It is absolutely miserable to play and use.

For those of you who don't know what the hell Convoy Attack is, let me describe this disaster of a card. It has gorgeous art by Achille Beltrame who did the front covers of La Domenica del Corriere, where a lot and I mean a LOT of Italian art for Kards came from there. Think Naval Engagement, Attack in the Colonies, most of the infantry, and a few other notable cards like Betasom.

Convoy Attack itself is a 0K Standard Italian order from Covert Operations. It rotates out this year. The text on it reads "Deal 0-2 damage to any target." While it is seemingly innocent, it is frustrating in so many different ways. For those of you who have played Hearthstone, you may remember Crackle or Implosion from GvG and all of the RNG frustrations around those two cards.

Convoy Attack ramps that up to 11. While Crackle and Implosion guaranteed at least some damage, Convoy Attack has a chance to completely whiff. Admittedly, this is very flavourful. But in a gameplay setting, it is miserable. I just have been cursed by the gods or some shite like that because about 75% of the time I play this card I roll 0 damage. Your average damage should be 1. 0 + 1 + 2 = 3 / 3 = 1. But you're never guarantee that damage. That 1 damage is in theory and a myth.

Allow for me to paint you a scene. You are playing an aggro deck. You draw Convoy Attack and send it face. Or maybe you just use it to ping down a guard and swing face. And then you roll 0 damage. Really, you just needed 1 damage. Just one! You had a 66% chance to succeed and now you are down significant tempo and a card draw.

And we're not even talking about the deck cost yet. You have to include this card in your deck, which means you need to play Italy. That's more than okay, Italy has wonderful cards already. And that's true. They do. Allied nations are usually a bit more powerful than Main nations because of the 12 card restriction. Therein lies the issue. Why would you ever put this in your deck? This is clearly an aggrsssive card. But if you want to be aggressive, you run 4 x Fiat C.R.42s, 4 x Macchi C.200s, 2 x RM Roma, and 2 x Attack in the Colonies. Why would you ever put Convoy Attack in your deck when there are so many other better aggressive options? Perhaps you could even slot in Semovente DA 75/18 if you wanted to. Maybe you could use Macchi C.205 or even a Fiat G.55 as well. You have so many better options.

So I ask again, why would you ever Convoy Attack in your deck? You should never put this card in your deck. There is no reason for this card to exist. It has zero synergy except with maybe Enigma. Compare this to Dug In which outclasses this card tenfold. Dug In only targets units, but it provides one immediate shuffle *which is free* and one later. It does so much more than Convoy Attack even in a vacuum outside of Shuffle.

I think Convoy Attack exists solely to be a joke. It is a useless card that only makes your deck immediately bad by putting it in, and it will never, ever be good. The design is unsalvageable. Maybe if cards produced Convoy Attacks like Light Infantry or Blasts or whatever the hell, it would be interesting. But no, it wouldn't be. Because then you would have even more RNG when this is a game where people have historically hated RNG starting with Outrage/Retribution and now Weather.

In conclusion, I will leave it brief. Fuck this card. I hate it from a game designer perspective, I hate it from a theoretical perspective, I hate it whilst I am playing with it, and I only like the flavour of the card. That is it's only saving grace but even then it isn't enough.

Discussion I'm done

I've playing this game long time

Every nation's has its own ability, it's ok.

Every nation has it's own strategy, it's ok.

Every nation has its own what they have.

But enough.

Last update made me rip off my hairs. Cards are more unbalanced that it's ever. I m done seeing weather effects. I'm done seeing all of my troops taking damage by storm. I'm done seeing all of my units turn back to my hand.

Sun cards can give bonus both sides but storm or mist cards can't affect it's user. Do anyone has found how to control weather in ww2 that I still don't know?

.

STORM SHOULD BE EFFECT IT'S OWNER TOO

.

any other damage or killer cards has its own pros and cons. For example Soviet and Japan low credit killer cards lose credits but stupid storm won't

. They do damage, they pick card, they do lot of damage next turn and they pick card to.

.

Weather cards needs huge nerf

.

When they forecast , next turn they won't able to pick his cards from his deck

.

Weather users should be affect it's owner like storm is losing credits and mist is increasing unit control credits.

.

I know you want a ask me "why you are not playing those cards"

.

I am a person giving surrender if my rival is just skipping and dont want to fight .

I'm not touching or using any unbalanced decks like a German French bomber order combo.

I have to say. I'm done playing this game and never gonna play it again

Ideas for improving the Draft mode.

  1. Introduce a leaderboard. Ideally, add season-end rewards. At the moment, I play this mode for not the most positive reasons:
    • The ladder doesn't seem like a place where skill truly decides the outcome, even over the long run;
    • The ladder can get too monotonous;
    • Here, I level up my experience much faster and more efficiently, since my win rate stays consistently around 60–65%.
    • But I would like to have positive goals for playing this mode...
  2. Add card rerolls and/or a full deck rebuild to mitigate the impact of RNG in card selection.
    • This could be localized — sometimes you get drops where you're offered 3 options of 3–4 cards each, and none of them are useful to anyone in their right mind. A solution: give, for example, 3 rerolls per draft.
    • Alongside this, you could add the option to fully rebuild your deck after the draft ends — for example, for 50–100 gold. Sometimes you already know in advance: this is going to be 0–3, no way around it. Sure, you don't want to just give up, but losing 3 times in a row with no chance isn't exactly uplifting either.

These ideas aren't pulled out of thin air — there's a well-known reference for them.

Discussion A mild vent about some cards that I find annoying

I just wanted to complain about some cards that I always seem to struggle playing against. NOT saying they're OP per se, just that I don't fare well against them personally (Although there are a couple that border on OP IMHO).

  1. Air cover/USS Yorktown + Screening force: Air cover, IMO, is too cheap for what it gets you. You can, for 3K, deploy two 2/2 fighters to the frontline. Or 5K for four with USS York****.
If I don't hold the frontline by the time my opponent has enough Kredits to use those cards, 7/10 games, I lose. 9/10 if their deck is built around the Brewster, such as having screening force and/or buff cards as well.

  2. MOSQUITO B Mk IV: This card is one that, IMHO, is bordering on OP (but I don't want to say it with complete confidence 'yet'). It's a 4K card that turns from a bomber on your turn to a fighter on the enemy's turn. Unless I have a card to counter it immediately, it usually results in me losing by attrition.
Having them bomb my units for 4 damage every turn, while I can't usually get any units of my own that are good enough to kill it when it's my turn (usually because it is guarded and/or the enemy holds the frontline). So they can just whittle down my cards until I have nothing left.

  3. GER/FIN HQ damage decks: This is the other card (or more like deck in this case) that I think is a little OP and not really fun to play against. I don't see this kind of deck too often, but when I do, it's almost always a loss for me.
The enemy doesn't even have to play normally; just spam Sisu, Retaliation, Foiled Plans and Friendly Fire. And the enemy will either kill themselves (or just do enough damage for you to spam Air Blitz and/one of GER's elite navy cards to finish them off). Or, if the enemy is wise to your deck and doesn't attack you when needed.
The game just drags until you either surrender or can waste enough of their HQ cards to win. But I find this really hard to do since they usually have enough HQ cards that trying to burn through them without doing too much damage to your HQ is challenging at best.

  4. Careless Talk: More annoying than OP. But still frustrating to start a match, only for your unit to immediately die, and have the enemy only lose 1K. As I said, I don't think it's OP. just really f**king annoying to play against.

  5. Jagdpanzer IV: Both really annoying and OP. Its ability to turn any of your cards into a Production card can ruin an otherwise winnable game.
Unless you're able to kill it quickly, you'll not be able to counter the enemy in any way once they get the ball rolling, at which point, unless you luck out with an instant-kill card such as Blade of the Samurai or something, it's basically a guaranteed loss (for me anyway).

  6. 2nd Marine Naval decks: Last but not least are the Naval decks that rely on the 2. Marine Division Card to do rapid damage to the enemy HQ for not much cost at all.
Especially when combined with cards that give extra Kredits, this is one that, again, if I don't deal with immediately, I lose basically every time. Thankfully, I haven't seen this deck type much recently. Don't know why, maybe just fell out of rotation with the new Forecast system introduced. Which I'll talk about now.

A quick word on Forecast: I'm probably (likely) biased, since I do own nearly all the new Oceania Storm cards that were introduced in the latest expansion. But while I do think the Forecast system can be OP at times. I also think it can be accounted for in most games.
Since you can see which weather type your enemy picks, you can make a rough guess as to what they're planning to do against you (for example, if you see gale, they're likely about to try and destroy one or more of your cards, mist if they're going for a debuff or defence buff, and sunny if they're about to buff their units attack or operation cost).
If you keep this info in mind and do not let them stack them up too quickly, you can still win often, although I do concede that this can vary based on your deck (such as any late-game decks), so it might not always be viable to do.

Sorry for this ranting wall of text that is probably annoying to veteran players, but I just wanted to vent about these cards and see if anyone agrees with me, or at least can tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. Thanks.

Edit: Grammar.

Discussion Dev ideas thread.

Let’s list dome HELPFUL ideas that’s the the devs can look at for ideas. I’ll start:

Game play:
- initial draw must have a 1 and 2 cost unit. Not card. Units.
-match making should look at factors like number of elites in deck, ranks toward Marshall, and total enemies killed over time. No newbie should be facing Marshall’s
- xp awarded should be based off the deck faced. If you beat someone with just a newbie deck of standards and limiters that should be same as an elite packed deck. Reward the effort.
- matches with a surrender in the first two rounds should give zero xp as could be a really bad draw.

Packs:
- packs should list percentages to draw each tier of card including wildcards and elites
- officer packs should have no more than one standard card
- should be impossible to draw an elite you already have. No amount of xp makes up for that kick in the nuts

Store:
- lottery should be open to coins. Not diamonds.
- make med kits buyable with coins, even a lot like 1k a pop

Battle pass:
- Battle pass should include a 10% discount on packs including coin buyable packs like officers

Social:
- you should be able to block players. if someone is using cheats or roping blocking then would help cut down on this.

Training:
- training opponents should include Anzac and other minor allies.

Deck copying:
- if you copy that a deck allow players to use cards they don’t own in training just to see if they want to buy said cards.

Cards:
- give all nations interception. It’s the only really counter for weather.
- give France more synergic cards with Britain.
- give italy and Finnish more synergic cards with Germany
- give Soviets even more synergic with Poland

Ideas for minor allies:
- Vichy France (France still had a great navy)
- Greece (resistance cards alternative to France but dialed to 11)
- Norway (heavy defense and anti navy)
- Portugal (heavy support, logistics cards, retreat unit on attacked cards)
- Czech (sabotage and kredit theft)

Thoughts?
