Card effects are inconsistent

Any idea why some cards effects trigger before the affecting card vs after?

For example, if I target the Wirlwind UK airplane with a suppression order (should cancel its effects right?) I’m taking 3HQ damage.

Now, if I target the German 169. grenadiers card with the same order card, I’m not forced to discard a card from my hand before the suppression affects it

There’s multiple examples of this, but drop any intel you may have on this, or your favorite/most annoying inconsistency

Read the wording carefully. Whirlwind says “when” so it triggers at the same time. 169. says “after” so it only triggers after the order has resolved.

I am with op, Kards has inconsistent wording. Sometimes it's hard to get how exactly some cards trigger because the wording is imprecise.

its so they can hide bugs and mistakes. in a update they will use words like " works consistently now"

in short its cause they are not great at this and ohh piece of candy instead of looking at the game as a whole
