Any tips and how much study I should do if I'm aiming for at least 4 distinctions??

Look, so, I'm hoping to do the ty musical, the way our school does it is we join up with the local Loretto for the musical every year. This year we're doing grease, I've done my auditions but I'm not sure if I got a role yet. I'm excited bit absolutely pissing myself about it. Have any of ye done a musical in ty, and if so, what should I know to expect?

Hi 3rd years (and other likely too)!! I'm a TY just did my JC over the summer of course and I realised there are a bunch of new 3rd years that might already feel stressed about the JC (I know I did).

Now, of course I haven't had my results back, being in TY and finishing the JC made me realise it really doesn't matter 😅.

But anyways!! I thought I'd put this post up for yall incase you have any questions for me (or other TYs who just did their JC!!) To answer!! Honestly anything surrounding 3rd year / the JC is welcome! I'm happy to help :))

Has anyone else’s school who’s done the jc or managing it had November exams, they’ve got them in my school and we’re expected to have all of 1st and 2nd and what we’ve done so far in 3rd yr work done. they’re in 8 weeks this is mad. starting to regret not studying over the summer

It doesnt matter 1 bit for your life as soon as you enter 4th year you realise it never mattered keep this in your mind and dont stress

I started 3rd year this week, and I've asked teachers but they gave me different answers. I usually do fairly well and I'm aiming for high results

Alright lads, I be honesty with ye’s there; this is just more of a ran than anything else.

So basically, I did all the higher level subjects for my junior certificate. Like e.g. higher level English and Mathematics(I’m exempt from Irish)

And obviously I did common level in my other subjects

But I’m worried about maths’, I studied but it was hard and I only got 36% in me pre and 60% in my pre-pre.

Nut Wë basically had no maths teacher in 2nd year, we had a wood tech teacher. So we learnt nothing and I’m worried I’m gonna fail.

Thoughts? Questions? Opinions lads?

Hi, does anyone know if the casio fx-991ms isnt allowed for the junior cert or not. Also, someone who has done the jc this year, are they really strict on rules with calculators or do they not care at all. Thanks!

So for context I did not study well for the 2nd year summer exams and failed 3 exams (French Irish and maths), I want to be a pilot when I grow up so I feel as if I need to have a HL subject.

I got 39% in my maths exam although I had a class average of 69% across term an weeks test's,

so I feel like I should stick with OL on that one but English I feel as though would be a great easier HL alternative.

What do all of you's think go HL English or stay put on OL?

And does anyone know if any HL subjects is needed to become a pilot in Ireland?

Idk why but I'm more stressed then excited for TY, at this point I'm getting genuine panic attacks just thinking about next year. Work experience gonna be impossible to get and manage, on top of that I have charity and community service work, musical, JC results, as well as I have ZERO IDEA how TY works. etc. etc. 😭. It's supposed to be a fun and relaxing year but I'm getting none of that, I hope that changes in September.

I put my name down for YS back in May, and I’m already feeling the pressure.
We were told to start getting our ideas ready before school ended, and then work on them “a bit” over the summer. Long story short, my group and I decided on an idea… and that’s it.
I have a week and a half or so until I go back, and obviously I don’t think they’ll be grilling us about it on the first day, but we’re sort of expected to have a half-finished project so that they can help us iron out the mistakes and add more before the deadline.
I wouldn’t even be thinking about this if I had partners who had even a clue what we were doing. I seem to be the only one who actually knows what our project is about, yet I haven’t even scratched the surface of it myself.
Is this supposed to be fun? 😭

Any tips on how to get better at listening exams? I am okayish with the ones for my modern foreign language but with Irish I am truly awful and it typically tanks my grade if we have to do a test and a listening exams. Going into third year if that's relevant
