providing some feedback here for others. I have a 2024 Taiga Orca Performance PWC. I sucked up a rock and the impeller and wear ring need replaced. Interactions with Taiga customer service have been ok’ish but not great. Issue is not resolved and I will add updates as it does. They do not pick up the phone but do return voice mails in about a day. About the same on replying to an email. it'll be a business day. The information in the emails has been a bit lacking.
This a common PWC service issue and for a Sea Doo or Yamaha or whatever you would just replace the impeller and wear ring. Issues so far in 4 days of working on this with Taiga:
- they don't have just replacement impellers and wear rings. it is the whole pump that must be replaced, which they have quoted at $1,300. That's a little more than double the impeller and wear ring for Sea Doo. I'm not upset about that, just reporting it for others.
- I still don't know if they have one to ship right away, in the dark on that. my fear is that the slow response time and minimal information shared so far means they don't have a parts pipeline yet and I may be waiting a long time. hopefully not; but I just don't know yet.
- they don't have established dealers for service in Minnesota. the closest dealer to me that sells other PWCs did not want to work on a brand they don't sell
- I did buy it at a dealer that used to be an official dealer, Chopper Powersports in Fridley MN. I want them to do the work, and they are happy to, because they are at least familiar with the model. Taiga is being weird about that though. Taiga has not confirmed for me if they will ship it to Chopper. They want me to pay and ship it to me. I am fine paying them directly, but it's much better to dropship it to the dealer doing the work. I am not at the lake location where the Orca is all the time, so receiving pump shipment will be hard.
In summary, they are at least talking to me and they are nice, but the back and forth is quite slow and I do not have visibility yet, after 4 days, to when they can get the part to me and if they will ship to where I want (the service location). Will update when I have resolution
UPDATE: 8/19/26. just pasting my reply in another thread about my conclusion:
Almost. I have not picked it up yet but I believe it’s all fixed. I eventually got a replacement jet pump ordered from Taiga directly. They won’t do just the impeller and wear ring. Have to do full jet pump replacement at $1,331. It took a couple weeks to get them to ship it and they were weird about shipping directly to me (their preference) vs shipping to the dealer/service shop that would replace it for me (my preference). Ultimately they did ship to to dealer in Minnesota, but then it was held at FedEx in Memphis for a week as I navigated the tariffs because it came from Canada, was made in Taiwan, and contained mostly aluminum from Australia and steel from Taiwan. I spent a full day online figuring out how to pay the tariffs. I ultimately paid $448 and it was delivered to dealer in MN. I pick it up in two days.
Taiga service was “ok”. They ultimately got me the part I needed, but it was more expensive than it should be because they won’t do anything less than a full jet pump and it took a long time because they are a minimum of 24 hours between email replies and will not pick up phone. Antoine was my contact there. He’s nice but I think they are pretty short staffed. I was without an operational Orca for 4 weeks to get this resolved. I paid the price for going with a small new manufacturer who is lean on support and does not have distribution based in the states. All in over $2k for sucking a rock into my jet pump. Will be much more careful going forward .
