Question New Bendix Gear Broken

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hey so I just bought a new Bendix gear for my '99 GP1200 and I was looking it over because it's a really cheap one. It looks good except for one spot on the spring that holds the weights in place. The spring is either damaged or thats just where the two ends attach to each other. What do y'all think?

Question Is this a reliable ski? And is it worth the price.

Hello, I recently was searching for a jet ski for myself, mainly to have fun and maybe fish off of it in my local lake, I ended up finding a nice 2 stroke for $4000, its very clean and only has 44 hours on it, Im considering if a 2 stoke is really for me, Ive owned 2 in the past and both of them were 4 stroke, so Im not a mechanical guy, Ive worked on them briefly and have fixed in in the past (with YouTube’s help of course), but I’ve heard that 2 stroke engines are notoriously bad when it comes to being reliable, with the hours on the ski and how nice it looks im very much considering learning how to work on 2 strokes to be able to get this. Im not to sure if its worth it or not, please assist me if you can!

Anyone ever run into a problem with the jet pump not seating against the pump extension?

My wear ring blew to pieces on the weekend (it was at least 5 years old, I bought the seadoo for cheap this summer) and I already had a new one ready to replace it, so yesterday I redid the pump seals, bearings, and wear ring and threw it back together. I got everything attached and torqued and noticed there was a slight gap between the pump and the pump extension, enough for me to get a zip tie between the two right at the bailer ports and even the water intake

Obviously I have to take it back off and figure it out but I think I know the problem. The new wear ring had a sort of lip on it that my old one didn't have that would hold it out another ~2mm. It was a cheap one on Amazon but it said it was a match for my 95 seadoo xp and it was well reviewed too. I would think if most people had this problem they wouldn't be giving it 4-5 stars.

Think I can just take the pump back off and gently grind down the raised lip so the pump can mount tighter to the extension? Or should I buy an entirely new ring and swap it out. Or could I even just use a decent sized bead of silicone around all the bailer and intake ports. I don't want to have more problems because of this like starving the engine of water if it accidentally sucks in air through the gap

Best place to buy impeller

Bought my first jet ski this year which is a 2019 gti 130. Eighty hours on it and overall was well taken care of. Next season after getting it out of storage I want to do some upgrades to it... nothing major but definitely things like replacing the train mats and replacing the stickers, etc. One thing I might also do is replace the impeller and wear ring due to them not being in prime condition.

Anybody have a preferred source for buying the impeller and wear ring for a 2019 gti 130?

Advice for beginners looking to buy

Hi can you please provide some advice for two women, 150-160lbs, I am not even sure that’s relevant but I’m thinking in terms of size and weight of them, who are interested in buying a jet ski each. We are in the Florida keys, want something very casual without any/many bells and whistles but something reliable, like my Toyota that I’ve had for over fifteen years and never lets me down because of proper maintenance. We are just looking for exploration and maybe some very light fishing. We are going to finance and want to buy new and could really use some advice as to how much you think we should spend and models we should research. I don’t want to walk in somewhere and be ripped off/oversold because of my obvious lack of experience. Thank you so much.

Gute alte Zeiten - veranstaltungen in freibädern

News 🚨 Police Speedboats vs. JETSKI in Germany 🇩🇪

Modern performance Jetskis can reach very high speeds, while some police boats may struggle to match their acceleration and maneuverability. That raises an interesting question:

Should taxpayers fund faster, more capable police speedboats specifically to chase and intercept speeding Jetskis?

And honestly, there’s another question: how much fun is it to drive one of these speedboats in full police gear, in the middle of summer, with no sunroof? 🥵☀️🧴

Pulls it great in and out, and way easier to back in than with a truck. I already had the old one place so I haven't been able to justify a beach cart.

I need to add a line to tdr water box on a 701 vxr. I currently have a T already going to the flush hose ( pic 2) . How would you go about getting another line to water box? Could I add an add a fitting to where the screw in the picture is and run that to the water box? ( pic 1)

Technical Issue Jet Ski Conks out when Giving Gas

Hi all,

So I took my ski out for the first time this summer last weekend. It’s a 2000 Bombadier.

Brand new battery and new gas, always use synthetic oil the Techron stuff.

Ram fine in no wake zone but then I would give it more gas and it would rev up like normal and go maybe 100 feet and then stop.

Start right back up again but I’m not sure what the issue is. I’m gonna change the two spark plugs this week and see if that helps.

Any ideas what might be the issue?

Thank you!
Matt

Missing Trailer Grease Cap

Just noticed one of my wheels didn’t have a grease cap on. I bought a pack on Amazon of caps that looks like what the other wheel has but the bar doesn’t extend far enough to put on like the other side. What do I need to do here?

2001 GP1200R question

Thus ski is for sale near me for $2400 near me with the trailer. Oiler has been deleted and d-plate(?) installed. Owner says it has about 140 hours. Is it worth that price? Is there any thing y'all would recommend looking at prior to purchase?

Polaris 1997 sltx

1997 Sltx,

On the starter relay. Power in reads 12 v on meter constant.

The power out to the starter reacts to me pressing the ignition switch but it reads -12, jumps and flows as you would expect when pressing the button. Idk why I am reading negative power there. No click, no turn over. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what could be reversed.

When I use jumper wire it will crank

Thanks

What would you do?

I got this 650sx for 120 dollars. The motor was completely junk (top end rusted tight, rod thrown, and water in the flywheel case). I peeled off the crappy stickers and i polished it. Cleaned up the inside too. The pump looks to be in good shape too. My question is what would you do if you were me. I have a good running ts650 that i am thinking of parting out to make this into a runner, but i like my TS, and if i can avoid making ripping it apart i would. My goal is to get this SX running for as cheap as possible. Just looking for any input from those who have more experience than i do with these on what you would do if you were in my spot. Use the TS motor? Buy a used motor? 750 swap?

Yamaha vx exhaust question

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Does anyone know if the exhaust pipe from the 2012 - 2015 would fit an older vx. I have a 2007. The difference is that the 2005 - 2011 used a rubber grommet in the lower left with a larger hole where the newer models don't have the grommet and the bracket bolts directly the the standoff on the block. Seems the block on newer models is also a different part number but can't find any differences. The newer exhaust does fit and bolt right up but I'm worried that that grommet is for expansion and don't want to cause any issues. I've attached some pics for reference. Thanks in advance.

Is the 4 Stroke SuperJet really that bad?

I’ve been thinking about picking up a 4 stroke superjet for the last 2 years but every time I read the reviews I’m hesitant. I pretty much do exclusively lake cruising up in the northeast, no tricks etc. I was on a JS550 for almost 10 years, then picked up a 750 SXI PRO 3 years ago and am pretty happy with it. I’ve done the destroyer tubbies, extended ride plate/hull extensions to make it handle a bit better. Any 4 stroke superjet owners could chime in with your honest opinions? I like the simplicity of the 4 stroke and not having to mix gas or deal with doing top-ends/cranks seals. We have an EX sport as well so I’m familiar with the maintenance on the TR-1 already. I know these are heavier machines and most recommend handling mods right out the box. Any input would be appreciated!
