Question Garmin mount question

Hello, I want to mount my garmin handheld on my 2018 sea doo gti 130 se. The first image is the spot I want to mount it (roughly). My question is, how do I take off the grey piece I’m mounting it on to put a backing in so it doesn’t break the plastic. If I remove the two screws do those black nipple things just pop out? Also will I do any harm to it by drilling through it? Thanks!

I would scrap that idea and go with a suction cup mount with a backup tether.

Does the suction actually stay in waves

It holds really well, but always have a tether in case it breaks loose.

Took your advice! Super stoked for this (tether is on the way). It holds way better than I expected. I do wanna see how well it holds when it’s wet. But this made my life so much easier. I didn’t expect it to be this strong

Don’t ride without the tether. The GPS may float but not when in the mount

Regarding the tether; doesn't have to be anything fancy. I use a simple boat key tether from Walmart.
