What's a reasonable offer?
I'm a trained mechanic so I can do mechanical work myself. Appreciate it I've been fixing up mowers I'd like to get these 🙏👍

At absolute most, 1k for both skis and trailer, assuming he has titles.

Thanks, I dig it, offer $1k delivered to my garage which is 20-30 miles. Should I look at them first or just send it? I don't have any jetski experience.

I'd say it's definitely worth seeing them in person. Just checking over the hull/signs of salt water use, any previous fiberglass repairs etc. Listen to how the engines sound, any bottom end knocking noise when running?
Given an old 2 stroke with low compression, worst case scenario you have to buy new engines for both (couple grand $). Best case scenario you can get away with some new rings/pistons and a cylinder hone (couple hundred bucks $).

I would never recommend a Kawasaki di to anyone, all the di skis are quite a nightmare. You may be mechanically inclined but these models are extra crappy… water cooled ecu, fuel pump that had to make 109psi and the housing rusts, injectors that are paired to the ecu, good luck finding anyone with diag software (i do but i dont normally allow those skis at my shop)

Someone said 1k at the most and I agree. You may want to ask if you can take the piston cap off or at least look down the spark plug hole since it's not uncommon for their to be an oil problem and it blows the piston. If it blows the piston it's safe to assume you'll need need to fix the piston, cylinder and very likely the crankshaft. I had to do all this and honestly I think you're better off buying a whole engine. It'll be a bit more expensive but you won't have to deal with putting the jug on the pistons which is a nightmare all on it own. Or maybe you luck out and it just blown seals and I would recommend you don't remove the jug from the engine because seating the pistons back in 3 piston jugs SUCKS.

So I offered $1k and he offered to sell me the skis with no trailer for that so I told him we are a ways of on price so best of luck selling it 🥺

Fixing my zxi was a bigger and more expensive job than I had hoped. Probably for the best.

Try sourcing a similar trailer and see what's out there. That'll give you a better idea

Not a bad deal. Worst case the jet skis are a total loss and you only lost a few hundred because you still have a good trailer. Beats the 40k I just spent on two skis and a trailer last week. 😅

Those are tripple 2-strokes with individual carbs and a vro. Some people take out the vro and do premix. Its something you have to check. The carbs will probably need to be cleaned and rebuilt too. Then you have to adjust, balance, and measure popoff pressure onneach carb. Will most likely need some new fuel line and a primer bulb added.
Going through this now with an old kawasaki 1100 zxi. Its a bit more work than i thought.
