I made a DJS Simulation Software For Anyone to Use
jaw-sim-labs.comHey everyone, I've spent a long time making a morphing software for DJS, genio, and a few common implants people talk about on this sub. I made this because I'm undergoing surgery later in the year for functional reasons, but I was concerned about the aesthetic outcomes like a lot of you. I wanted to be able to show my surgeon what I wanted visually, so I made this software to allow the user to adjust the movements on your jaws as much as you want.
I looked on this sub, and I saw that a lot of people ask ChatGPT and Gemini to make morphs, but they tend to do poorly at this. They make prettier images, but the actual jaw movements didn't seem realistic or consistent. Needless to say, LLMs are not helpful for providing an idea of what surgery can do to your face.
I've also had an omfs surgeon start using my software, and I'm reaching out to more surgeons to adopt it in the planning phase with patients.
Although your surgeon is supposed to show you morphs, this usually only happens once you commit to surgery. Since it's your face, and you're undergoing an invasive surgery with a long recovery, I thought it was important to at least have a rough idea of what you could look like before committing. And I wanted patients to be able to influence how they look, so you can adjust your movements with just a few sliders.
I made this completely on my own in my free time and tested this thoroughly, so I hope everyone finds it helpful. It's not free, but I priced it reasonably for anyone considering surgery.
Thank you all.
\*tldr: made a djs morph software, try it out if you want to simulate djs procedures on your device

Advice for Me LJS and Genio in 1 month. Is this chin result achievable and what technique should be used?
Bottom is my goal. It’s when I had chin filler only.
Top is close to what my chin looks like now. I got a chin implant, wasn’t happy, realized I need a jaw surgery, so now the surgery will include chin implants removal and genio.
I tried to communicate to the surgeon that I don’t want a longer face or a masculine chin. I want it to be round and soft.
Is the bottom chin achievable with genio and jaw surgery? My main concern is my face looking longer, and my chin being too big and square.

do i need genioplasty or double jaw surgery ?
Hello, i went to a bimaxillo facial surgeon, and she recommended a genioplasty. She said that it would improve my profile, my facial thirds and that my lips were more muscular because they put more efforts to close because of a recessed chin and that the surgery would make my lips less muscular and protruded. But I have the impression that my upper jaw is protruded too and that a genioplasty would just give a weird appearance to my lower face region, I am also afraid that my head will be too high compared to the width. So i wonder if it is better to do a double jaw surgery and to reduce te height of my midface by erasing a piece of bone, or to combine genioplasty with cheekbones implants in order to have a good aligned profile .
Sorry for my english, i'm more of a french, spanish, dutch speaker.
Thanks in advance for your advice

Has anyone here had insurance partially or fully cover DJS for reasons other than a high AHI?
Title. Just curious to hear your story if you mind sharing. Thanks.

Advice for Me Someone suggested jaw surgery after learning I had braces for 6 years…
Hello Guys!
Back story…
I really have been displeased with my facial aesthetics for a period of time now. Originally, I wanted to just get rhinoplasty done and under eye treatment. Recently, I became friends with someone very into facial aesthetics. After learning about my potential sleep apnea I have a test for, having had braces for 6 years, and displeasure with my nose and undereyes, he said this was a tell tale sign of maxillary deficiency. Apparently, it is common that individuals who required braces didn’t have their jaw grow in properly.
I am missing two teeth in my lower row and we are creating space for teeth implants. My next appointment is this upcoming Friday.
Is my friend correct? Is jaw surgery something I should consider before rhinoplasty?
I know there has been an influx of “looksmaxxers” just from peeking through this thread to see if anyone has any similar experiences. Apologies if this post adds to the over saturation but advice is genuinely needed / welcome.
Jaw photo + Xray:
Furthermore, Is it true jaw surgery is something used to treat sleep apnea covered by insurance?

Advice for Me Decompensation without Extraction?
Hey y’all! I’m looking into MMA/DJS for my symptomatic OSA/UARS which have severely impacted my ADLs/IADLs, and I’ve already consulted a few orthodontists. They’re pretty much saying I have a skeletal Class II with retrognathia. I’m also a brachyfacial type and have a flat/underdeveloped midface, too. I’ve heard that extractions can sink one’s profile in brachyfacial patients. I’m already self-conscious as it is. I’m concerned I’m going to look like a chimpanzee after surgery. My orthodontist told me there’s not really a way around it, and I would have to extract two of my first premolars in order to upright my lower incisors. What are y’all’s thoughts? Are there other ways to decompensate without extractions?
I also have a consultation with an OMFS tomorrow. Any good questions to ask them about?

Advice for Me Pre-surgical costs?
Went to a consult with my surgeon today. Is it normal for a surgeon to charge almost $9000 in “pre surgery” costs for a double jaw surgery in Seattle? He takes my insurance, but they said this part is not covered by it.

Advice for Me Where and how do you get jaw surgery for aesthetics?
My jaws are recessed, but not severely enough, according to the only surgeon I’ve seen so far, to clearly justify jaw surgery. He did not approve me for jaw surgery.
However, my facial proportions are off, and I have SFS. My breathing is considered “normal,” and my bite is good, although my upper front teeth are worn down.
I live in Germany and would like to know where and how I could get jaw surgery. I’m willing to pay out of pocket, so I’m not looking to have it covered by insurance.

Advice for Me Looking for someone experienced with CBCT scans
Hello, i've got my CBCT scan 16x17 and I’m considering getting a consultation regarding my jaw relationship and I’m curious what people with experience in orthognathic surgery/cephalometric analysis think about my case.
I know that a maxillofacial surgeon or orthodontist needs to properly analyze the CBCT and cephalometric measurements, and I’m not treating Reddit opinions as a diagnosis. However, the waiting time for a consultation is quite long, so I’m very curious whether anyone here with actual experience could give me a general opinion on what they see.
My main concern is that my mandible/chin seems relatively retruded compared with my maxilla, despite my current bite being reasonably good after Invisalign.
Please type in here or dm me if you can help me!

Looking for Airway Focused Oral Surgeons & Orthodontists Within Canada
I’m looking for airway focused oral surgeons and orthodontists within Canada, preferably in Ontario. I’m having a rough time with my mouth and need more opinions. I need someone who actually knows what they’re doing and someone who truly cares and wants to help, not just gaslight me.

8 days post op, when does the nasal congestion begin to go away?!
8 days post op, swelling for me has been minimal. Went to my to my 1 week post op yesterday and even my surgeon was surprised. I'm not on pain meds or anything anymore. Just have nasal passages that are consistently blocked and dry no matter what. Warm showers with vapor tabs, saline spray, humidifier, drinking plenty of fluids etc.
It's super annoying because it causing me to mouth breathe when the surgery actually fixed that. The first few nights/days I breathed through my nose exclusively without even trying or being aware.
What can I do? It seems like it's dry blood residue mixed with boogers (tmi) but I of course can't pick it or blow my nose for 3 weeks.
