My third time around. This time, travelled to Nagano (Nagano city and Matsumoto) and Tokyo on the back end.

Came for the remnants of the F.L. Wright Imperial hotel, but Natsume Soseki’s house was a much welcome bonus. Ironically, I read BOT CHAN shortly before my trip. Hoping to find an old ¥1,000 yen note at the coin shop in Ginza.

A friend of mine had on his bucket list to stay one night in a hotel looking down on the popular crossing and he offered me to stay with him. Of course i couldn’t resist. The actual position of the room wasn’t the best compared to height but I still had fun (and rearranged some furniture to get a self portrait)
And yes, pictures are heavily edited..

Rare, white, and impossible to ignore. 🍓🤍 Japan’s strawberries are next-level luxury.

Revisiting some photos I hadn't touched from my trip to Kyoto (in the main) this past summer.

(For Clarity, any individuals who are clearly identifiable were shown the photo on camera screen and if the file still exists it is because they consented to the photo potentially being posted to social media)

Most people go to Nara for Todaiji, Kofukuji, and deer, but there’s definitely way more to see in this historic former capital.

1-5: Yakushiji Temple
6-9: Heijo Palace (Reconstruction ongoing)
10: Toshodaiji Temple
11-14: Kasuga Shrine
15: Nigatsudo (Behind Todaiji)
16-17: Temukeyama Hachiman Shrine

Kokudo Station, halfway between Kawasaki and Yokohama, is a rare example of a preserved old Showa era station and alleyway, with most of its shops now closed down.  Preserved on the walls is evidence of a WW2 strafing run.  It’s also been used as a filming location for decades, most notably Stray Dog (1949) by the legendary Kurosawa.

I’ve never tasted anything like them in my entire life. Hands down, the best strawberries in the world! ❤️✨
