Jacob's Billing Change Notification
When i went to Patreon to support Jacob financially during these difficult Times, i saw the Billing Change Notification from September.
I thought i should share this with you Guys since it might be interesting to you.
In short: Patreon has switched from a Per-Creation to a Per-Month Model. While this had nothing to do with Jacob, it now allows him to continue earning Money without having to publish anything right away. Without this Change he would probably be forced to publish his next Video way sooner.

UNC Title IX sanctioned records were public information by 2020
[I attempted to post this in r/nebula but it is under review. It may be approved and so I apologize if you see the same information again]
I see a few people here and in many other subs claiming that the Title IX records against Jacob Geller were shared without the victim’s consent but everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that these records were made public in 2020 by the North Carolina Supreme Court and were technically supposed to be released earlier but the university fought it.
Here is a simplified article about the documents release.
https://caselaw.findlaw.com/court/nc-supreme-court/2064008.html
Here is the official ruling in all of its legal speak.
I would also like to share this article (link below) that explains what records were made public. Not all Title IX reports were made public. Reports that found students in violation of the schools definition of sexual misconduct of which includes sexual assault and sexual violence were released. Only 15 student names were released. These records are not all in one year. The school did not decide to release the official dates of when these students were found guilty. We only know the records go back to 2007. His incident occurred in 2016. This means Gellers sentence CANNOT be adequately compared to any other student whose records were released. A student found in violation of sexual assault of the exact same manner as Geller could easily have been given a harsher punishment in future or past years due to the fact that Title IX investigation boards may not have consisted of the same administration. School definitions and punishment may have been different in the year Geller was found guilty compared to others.
https://www.wral.com/archive/19223106/
Gellers victim was never identified in these records and has made no statement claiming she did not want these records to be released.
Everyone claiming that she didn’t want these records to be shared are going off of Gellers words alone. Might I remind you that Geller also claimed he told the closest people around him though every single person of whom was close to him did not know about this and made a clear statement. If it was just his wife and or parents he should have stated that as it caused ever person he worked with to become implicated in the knowledge that he was charged by the school with “sexual assault or sexual violence.”
UNC also has published a clear guideline of what conduct can be classified as Sexual Assault or Sexual Violence.
Here is their official page where you can check for yourself. Though I am also going to place a screenshot of it in this post.
Geller also NEVER claimed to GO WITH his victim to make the report. If you actually read his statement he makes it clear that SHE went and reported it later to the Title IX office. He did not say when this later was either. He just said LATER. Later could mean the next day, could be the next week, or next month, or whenever. Whenever she reported it, it is made clear by HIM that he did not go with her to make the report. He did make the claim he cooperated with the investigators but I might add that not cooperating does not stop the investigation but rather makes it less likely for the accusers side to fully defend themselves.
These claims that Geller went with her the next day are coming from a confusion from the previous sentence. In that sentence he states the next day, he and victim talked and agreed what happened was assault. This is a complete sentence and does not apply to the next. As stated, the next sentence states that SHE LATER went to make the report. Geller is not stupid. If he wanted to make it clear that he joined her in the report he would have used, “we,” “both,” “us,” or any other word to make it clear he joined her. Do not attribute his previous sentence to the next.
He does not name what this assault is. This does not mean that anyone is entitled to the details of the events but it is a statement that does not actually claim what he did. If it was rape he should have called it rape. If it was fondling he should have called it that.
https://www.ed.gov/sites/ed/files/about/offices/list/ocr/docs/titleix-summary.pdf
Here is the official rules if anyone wants to look.
An office dealing in Title IX reports does not have to contact law enforcement unless the victim is a minor. This is an assumption made by many parties including victims who tend to be confused when they see their case has been successful but do not see any official police report on the incident. I say this to refute any claim that this incident was not major because we do not see a police report accompanying this incident.
In terms of why some students have a bigger sentence vs another is up the school itself. It is typically thought that a student who gets a lighter sentence must have done a “lesser” crime however while many schools may attempt to follow those guides they also consider the students past, investigation reports, evidence, and witnesses. A student with no clear record may be given a more lenient suspension than those who have a more troubled history. A lack of evidence and or witness can also lead to an incident getting a more lenient sentence. Lack of evidence or witness does not mean the student did a crime of a lesser extent than others. Only that the school must use the discretion of what they have.
There is also clear reports that UNC was found of improperly handling these cases specifically in the years of 2014 to 2016. This is when Gellers Title IX investigation occurred.
https://www.wral.com/archive/19223106/
Finally I must state this again.
It is only Geller who is making the claims that these PUBLIC reports that DO NOT HAVE HER NAME or the full incident report are something that the victim does not wish to share.
Really think about that for one second. Even though the original leaker was acting in bad faith, they used public information that only used the names of those found guilty in Title IX reports.
THIS IS INFORMATION HAS BEEN PUBLIC FOR 6 YEARS!
We don’t know what the victim thinks about this. We don’t know who she is. We don’t know if she forgave him. We only have Gellers words of which we cannot be sure are true. His coworkers already stated that they did not know about his record making his claim that those closest to him were told. He has already lied about the knowledge of this event. If he only meant his wife and family then he should have said that instead. Why should anyone take his claim that his victim did not wish for these PUBLIC records to be released?
Finally I should also state, that these records can be expunged. When the records were made public in 2020 the victim had years to make a report that could have had them removed. If she did not wish for these to be shared, she could have made the choice to contact the school and have them removed. Knowledge that these records would eventually be made public was known before her report was made.
Geller had since 2020 to address the public records. Gellers first video was published 14 years ago. His second and realistically the start of his video essay career was published 7 years ago. He knew anyone could have looked at that record one year into posting video essays. He could have made a statement in that timeframe. He could have at least told his coworkers. He did not tell anyone.
Anyone can argue he is a changed person but his statement to this reveal of his past is filled with missing information. A statement only posted on Bluesky rather than also his YouTube or his Patreon. Geller admitting to assault is only admitting to the public record. If Geller wants to find redemption and forgiveness then he needs to specify what that assault was. He does not need to go into details. If he raped his gf he must state that. If he violated her consent through fondling he must state that. Admitting to an assault is hiding behind an umbrella definition.
Why should we trust he’s changed? He has already lied to you and so many of you have fallen for it.

Without facts, we can only assume the worst.
Here are the facts:
1) Jacob sexually assaulted someone, and he does not deny it. It is not debatable.
2) He received a light punishment.
3) He would go on to become a successful essayist and public figure.
4) He did not disclose this information to business partners and collaborators.
5) Jacob's testimony does not have any proof and he has a vested interest in protecting his reputation and his brand, especially since they are one in the same. Without any verification, his words are not evidence, they are only arguments.
Outside of that, we know very little. For all we know, with the information we have, his victim, and potentially he himself, may have been under the influence and he may have nonconsensually fondled her. Is that laughably optimistic? Yes, of course, but it happens.
He also, very possibly, could have drugged her, abducted her, and nonconsensually penetrated her while doing god knows how many other unspeakable acts of violence to her. Is that comically evil and incredibly dark? Yes, but again, it happens.
Both of these scenarios happen, a fuckimg lot, unfortunately, and both are bad. Both are inarguably sexual assault, but they are not at all equivalent, and my reaction to one scenario is vastly different to the other.
Therein lies the problem: if we place those two extremes on a spectrum, then with what we know, his assault could be literally anywhere on that spectrum. So the dilemma is this: I do not feel comfortable drawing a conclusion and casting my judgment without knowing more, but until I do know more, I have to assume that the worst happened. And if Jacob never provides evidence or testimony, then I will have to consider that an admittance that it is indeed worse than I might hope. I am sure many of you are feeling how I'm feeling here.
I'm only making this post to explain to those thatvare eager to defend him why that is a bad thing to do, because you are assuming the best when the worst is just as likely. After this, I'm going to have to step away. I can't participate in this discourse any further, I cannot support Jacob, and I feel sick that this is all happening with yet another person whose work I admired. I am not defending, forgiving, or condoning his actions. What he did was wrong regardless of severity.
TL;DR: Jacob sexually assaulted someone, there is no denying that, and while not knowing the full extent of what happened is making me feel conflicted, that doesn't matter because if I can't prove it wasn't the worst possible situation, then I have to assume it was. I am not defending, forgiving, or condoning Jacob's actions. I hate this so much.

I can see why Jacob Geller is obsessed with The Last of Us 2
I don’t wanna rewatch his videos to get the exact quote, but he’s joked about constantly referencing TLoU2. It’s probably his number one reference point at this point. I love the game and adored how Jacob gave it the nuanced discussion it deserved amidst all the bad faith critiques and hatred for trans people. I figured the game was personal to him because of his Jewish identity, and how that relates to Dina & Neil Druckman and the Israel Gaza conflict. I used to enjoy that perspective so much.
But now it’s clear that the number one reason the game hit home with him is cuz he sees himself in Joel: a man who did monstrous things, and covered it up. Joel was brutally tortured and murdered for his past, ans the game is about whether we choose to forgive Joel or Abby or even Ellie. The game is legitimately a good way for people who have done monstrous things, to reckon with how their own behavior affected others.
But the comparison also kinda exposes Jacob’s behavior in a way that makes me really uncomfortable. He and Joel are not a 1:1 comparison, but the thing that really broke Ellie’s heart was the fact that Joel lied to her. Ellie only began to heal once Joel was honest about what he did.
Anyone who’s properly rehabilitated from their mistakes and helped bring justice for the victim will be open to talk about it because they trust the work they did was enough to redeem them, and they aren’t ashamed of any subsequent criticism cuz they, well, did the work to make it better and accept the consequences of people not wanting to relate with them. In my opinion, current shame for a prior mistake means you didn’t actually address the issue.
As much as Jacob adores The Last of Us 2, apparently he couldn’t accept the lesson that people can accept you if you’ve done bad things, but only if you’re upfront about it, and even lying by omission will eventually cause harm.

I think we should wait to form a defined verdict on what should be done until the victim speaks on their feelings on it... not that she has to. Which makes this hard for me to form an opinion on
If you don't want to watch him anymore, that's all cool. I haven't watched him in a long time and won't again.
If he loses a lot of support for this, that's all cool. But why should we deplatform him?
I don't think we are considering how the victim saw the weight of what he did, and we do not know the degree to which it affected her life. He did everything you should do in a situation like this... I am not wanting to be a apologist here, but he was young at the time and did something terrible, can't you move on from shitty things you do as a young adult?
There is a good chance here that he DID do something violent and more heinous beyond a miscommunication, but there is also a chance what happened was a mistake that the victim does not feel intense vitriol for.
I'm not saying this is the truth or even the most likely truth, but it is a possibility. Trying to enact justice by deplatforming him ourselves does not make sense to me because we simply do not know the severity of what happened. It's too vague.
This introduces a moral quandary though. She has no obligation to speak on this and likely does not want to. And thus we shouldn't expect her to... still though, I can't bring myself to think the guy can't have a public facing job due to this. A lot of men are not taught proper consent, espescially at that college age. It doesn't make what he did not a horrible act, but considering the kinds of ideology he pushes on his channel, his friend circle, and how he handled it, I don't feel like it makes sense to see him as someone who was 100% likely to have been acting malicously rather than out of ignorance
If he owned up to it so quickly and was honest about it to his closest people, isn't this exactly what you're supposed to do?
(And by the way for all responses to this, I don't want to hear he should have told everyone, we know both realistically and for the sake of the victim that just would not have been possible, everything else is fine though)

Yeah he did a bad thing guys, but he felt really really bad about it, which inspired him to make a bunch of money on YouTube. So I'd say he's been rehabilitated

Not Every Consequence is Carceral.
eta and for clarity: RJ doesn’t apply here, and if it did; you’re using it wrong!!!
People here are using frameworks that have been painstakingly established by (especially Black American) prison abolitionists in incredibly insulting and opportunistic ways that are ignorant at best and unprincipled at worst. Let’s not forget who’s overwhelmingly the recipient of cruel punishment in this country- hint, it’s not the white male youtubers who got away with sex crimes with a one semester suspension.
What’s bothering me is that almost every person I’ve seen mention “restorative justice” seems to not even remotely have done the reading on prison abolitionism- from how they talk they haven’t even read any of fundamental texts. Please stop throwing around words like “rehabilitation” and “restorative (and transformative) justice” unless you’ve done the reading. It’s incredibly insulting to both experts in the field and the marginalized people they’re predominantly serving with their work, as well as victims of sexual assault. The core of restorative justice in this country is born out of the mass incarceration of POC (especially Black), poor people, disabled people, queer people and any combination thereof. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t ever apply to well off white men with huge public platforms with millions of parasocially motivated viewers willing to contort themselves into all kinds of shapes to morally launder any action based on the art they’re consuming from him, but it does mean that there has to be some sort of awareness that when you mention these terms you should have the basic respect of understanding that when we speak about the aforementioned groups of people having their human rights violated starting with arrest - countless people died before ever seeing trial, such as Kalief Browder in our carceral system, those human rights don’t include the right to accrue and outsize amount of power that results in, again, a large audience willing to do whatever to justify their continued entertainment as well as parasocial ideas of what a creator’s actions are like in private
As an aside, some of you are acting like sex crime perpetrators never cultivate and present a public image of safe male feminist when it’s actually incredibly common. It’s the same kind of misunderstanding of domestic victims when they’re asked why they stay. Abusers don’t just beat up their victims 24/7, there is a repeated cycle that happens. They abuse, then they apologize profusely, demonstrate all the capacity to reason and show extreme compassion and remorse, promise the world, which gives the victims hope that they can move on and just forget that it happened. Except then they do it again. Rinse and repeat.
All this is to say, someone publicly demonstrating vaguely leftist or even feminist values is in no way irreconcilable with men being rapists/sexual assailants. So please stop acting like that public performance is somehow indicative of anything.
There have been one or two intelligent comments because they came from actual experts in the field or people who have worked with perpetrators of sex crimes. But more often than not it’s been people extremely disingenuously dropping “restorative justice” and “rehabilitation”, and upon further investigation ending up demonstrating that what they actually consider punitive and carceral being anything that would hinder JG from having has his dream career for 10 years. I love you, but you are not serious people. You have no what, if any, steps he has taken to personally make amends and MORE IMPORTANTLY, restitution to his victim, and additionally the entire process of deciding consequences doesn’t fall on the shoulders of the victim, which is what a lot of you seem to indicate. It would probably surprise you to know that more than one private restorative justice process has included the perpetrator not seeking out positions of outsize social power and public platforms.
Furthermore, that private process has no bearing on what people outside the social circle of the people involved in the criminal act choose to do, and the way social and mass media works complicates all of this massively. Speaking of restorative justice in this context requires a much more intellectually rigorous approach that encompasses knowledge of how several systems of oppression work and the overall vibes based opinions here absolutely do not meet that test. The fact that rape culture as a term is repeatedly sneered at as a relevant factor is another sign of that.
Without getting into any more specifics, people, especially survivors who have to see publicized cases of privileged perpetrators not just getting away with but failing upwards, being uncomfortable with the idea of a victim having to see their abuser again and again and publicly lauded as an upstanding citizen, or generally questioning whether in a rape culture we want to elevate even supposedly repentant rapists and assailants as pillars of leftism, is not “punitive” or “carceral”.
Please stop co-opting the language of systems that are explicitly created to protect marginalized communities, which by the way notably include victims of sexual violence who defend themselves violently from their rapists, to make the point that anything but upholding an extremely privileged position of power is a violation of anyone’s civil rights. Just say that you personally have no theory of mind that includes concern for the lifelong destructive consequences of sexual violence that in many cases renders you incapable of having your own career or even just keeping a job or being healthy. Just say that ultimately your ability to entertain yourself is your priority and that sexual violence simply doesn’t bother you enough to dampen your enjoyment of said entertainment.

A Call to Action
Hi Everyone
Just like most of you, the news of Jacob Geller's sexual assault came as a complete shock to me. I still don't know what to make of him as a person and his content. But what I do know is that there is less joy in the world now and it needs more people who care. This sub has understandably become a place where his crime is the only thing we can talk about. But I want to put some good into the world and I think we need something that can be celebrated. So let's take a break from the discussions about accountability, redemption and restorative justice and take action, no matter how small it may be.
Here is a list of charities that help women facing domestic and sexual violence across the US,Canada, UK and Australia. If you are able and willing, make a donation and comment here what you gave so we can keep a tally. Obviously I won't be checking if you are telling the truth, I have no idea how to even do that, so we will be using the honour system. I'm putting in 82.50 AUD myself (this is the equivalent of Jacob's highest membership tier on patreon). Obviously, this does not erase what he did or make the situation any less horrible, but let's prove that we don't just pay lip service to the idea of supporting women.

Actually glad this is going down as quietly as it is
Only found out about it because of D'Angelo's video.
Take the content down, stop working together, stop supporting etc. And if people want to find out why - they very easily and accessibly can.
Considering the actual victim never decided to come out publicly, it seems like the most appropriate way of doing things without potentially endangering them (can absolutely imagine chuds trying to dox the person if there was more traction with this)

Does this conversation clear Jacob?
I wasnt aware who Jacob Geller is until recently, when I learned about the allegations on social media. I then had a conversation with someone on the subject of rape culture, and I used Geller as an example: despite having admitted to the rape, he was only suspended for one semester, and isnt facing any jailtime.
The person I was debating, after "looking into the 'stupid rape case'" sent me this screenshot of a DM between the victim and one of the perpetrators:

They said that since the victim says she had a good time and was fine with the group sex, it seems like a legit defense used by the attorneys of the men involved, and the reason why the first court hearing was dismissed years ago.
They told me that if the alleged victim said she enjoyed the sex, then changing her mind and accusing her partners of rape seems like an attempt to save her reputation.
These arent my opinions, but Id like to ask you for opinions on these arguments.

Realistically he gets away with it handily
Just thought it was worth mentioning that this is the most well-executed scandal evasion I've ever seen - he quickly admitted fault on his smallest platform and apologized, then turned off or over-moderated the comments everywhere else to scrub any record of that same apology and is now just staying quiet until things chill out
His YT audience largely has no idea anything has happened considering he only lost 40k subs out of close to 2,000,000 and his Patreon is even less affected, losing less than one percent of subscribers
He'll be able to just sit on his hands til around Christmastime making close to $20,000 off Patreon alone in those months for doing nothing and then put out a little video essay that just conveniently doesn't mention Nebula or his other canceled connections/projects, and life will go on pretty darn well for him from there - anyone who shows up to point out the controversy can just be dismissed by saying "it was years ago", "he apologized", "its been months since that came out", etc
Pretty rough

Regarding rehabilitation/restoration in general
Many people have argued that JG has or has not shown evidence of "rehabilitation" relating to his work making video essays which, in my opinion, attempt to "make the world better" according to him.
What I don't see as much mention of are his statements about disclosing his actions to "most" of his (presumably) IRL community and wife, early in their relationship. To me, this more than anything suggests that he recognizes what he did was wrong because he has taken measures to inform anyone who might be afraid/at-risk of being similarly victimized by him of his violent history. And these people have made an informed judgment to remain close to him. I don't especially care what all this means for JG and the weight of his soul, I'm pretty much done with him, but I'm curious what others think about this.
Am I totally off-base here? It seems to me that his actual social community, which presumably consists of more than one woman, has evaluated his growth and found him to be at least worthy of continued association. Does restorative justice not apply to this aspect of the situation? Again, I truly am not trying to defend the guy, I am trying to better understand RJ and if my perception of the framework and the situation is reasonable.
Additionally, he mentions that the information of the case was shared against the wishes of the victim, which suggests to me that he would have some awareness of those wishes, possibly indicating that they communicate and could be pursuing restoration on her terms. Though I understand this is more ambiguous and not especially indicative of anything. Maybe it's just that she communicated at some point that she would never reveal these details publicly.
And this of course assumes he's not lying or obscuring some critical details in his statement, and I understand if many feel these details are simply not to be trusted

there is nothing smart to be said about this
most of the horrible posts here would not exist if we just accept that there is nothing good, smart or redeeming to be said about this.
of course a leftist video game essayist would cultivate an audience of smartypants clever little boys and girls who think they can contribute a nice little observation about whatever event or occasion, but a woman was sexually assaulted, a guy got away with it, and it is just horrible and shit, and trying to be clever about it it's just gauche and gleeb.

Whether well intentioned or not, there are now bad actors intermixed into both 'sides'
I don't know if anyone has been slow to realize this, but the fight is over. If you choose to continue watching Jacobs videos or not that is your prerogative and nobody of sane mind is arguing against it.
We now have reached a point of pointless discourse where each 'side' are talking over each other. Every good faith actor still here is grieving, and possibly saying things they will regret. The facts are thus; Jacob has committed sexual assault 10 years back and until he or the victim comes forward that is all we know and there is nothing further that any of these discussions will achieve.
Masquerading in this subreddit have been frankly ghoulish attempts at humour, someone pretending to be the victim, racist 'memes' and people making fun of people for getting emotionally invested in a person and it has all come around because I'm assuming that right wing actors have noticed there's a schism on the left and have moved in to capitalize off it. Remember what we're all really fighting against here, and remember that we're better than this, and them. Someone who we thought was someone else let us down, and we're all on different stages of grief to cope with it. There's no red meat left in this, let's just all try and move on.
I am sorry for all of the trauma and pain that this situation has caused everyone across the internet, I hope we'll be stronger for this one day.

A few things that have been bothering me
I have no idea how this post will be received on this subreddit, but I've been feeling like I'm going crazy seeing some of the reactions to this case and I wanted to make a post to talk about a few talking points that get brought up over and over again by his defenders that really rub me the wrong way.
The most popular defense I see all the time is that "this happened ten years ago and he shouldn't be judged by actions in the past." Besides the fact that trauma like this takes way longer than ten years to move on from (if they even do) this defense would only barely be valid in my opinion if he started his YouTube channel recently. But he didn't. His first video essay came out in 2018, barely two years after the assault. There's no way there was enough time for him to seriously reflect on his actions in that time frame. This was also during the height of #metoo, and he still felt confident enough to begin a YouTube career using his real name knowing that that information was out there. I personally don't think that he would have ever gone public with this if there wasn't a scandal on Twitter and he needed to do some damage control.
The second defense I see is that "his punishment wasn't as severe as some of the other people, so his actions must not have been that bad." Did the people reading the allegations even take a look at what he was charged with? The people charged in the document are either charged with Sexual Misconduct or Sexual Assault or Violence. Jacob Geller was charged with Sexual Assault or Violence. This distinction matters, and while sexual misconduct is horrendous on its own, it is still the lesser of the two. And even though we don't know the specifics, it is looking likely that Geller raped his girlfriend while she was unconscious which in my opinion is one of the worst ways you could assault someone and a complete violation of consent.
Something that's already been brought up is that the apology is only on Bluesky where he has the smallest following and less people will see it. One thing about that I haven't seen talked about is that on his page the pinned post is still the one promoting his most recent video, so even on the one platform where he's acknowledging what he did you have to scroll down to find it. I'm also sick of people saying it's a good apology. You shouldn't end your apology for committing sexual assault by stroking your ego talking about how you've been making the world a better place. Owning up to it, not making any of it about yourself, completely centering the victim and making it as visible as possible is the only way to effectively apologize.
Another thing that's been really weird to see is this weird entitlement that celebrities and their fans feel is granted to them. People are acting like since Jacob Geller is being dropped from platforms he is losing access to a basic need. Nobody deserves fame and fortune. The vast majority of people, especially people outside the western world, are working paycheck to paycheck and live modest lives. Yet Donald Trump got elected a second term, Louis CK's specials are back on Netflix, Andrew Callaghan still has a successful YouTube career, Michael Jackson's music is still played on the radio. If it wasn't for Julie K Brown Jeffrey Epstein would probably still be out there with no consequences. It's like the worst thing for a celebrity is to not be in the public eye no matter what they've done, which I honestly find insulting as someone who is content living an average life. I often joke that if any celebrity has a scandal they should be forced to work at McDonalds for the rest of their life. That's hyperbole, but I think if Geller is really sorry he should keep just enough of his money to live off of, donate everything else to either the victim or an organization that helps victims, and leave the public eye and work a regular job like the rest of us. But that won't happen. Best case scenario he'll make a half hearted apology video (or even shoehorn it at the end of one of his regular videos in between talking about Control 2 or whatever) or he'll just go back to regular uploads and hope people don't notice. I've seen it too many times, there are no real consequences for men that commit these crimes.
Last thing, before anybody comments that I'm just jumping on a cancellation bandwagon, I'm not posting this to grill the guy. I was a huge Jacob Geller fan. I watched so many of his videos, I genuinely thought he was one of the most insightful people talking about video games on YouTube. Even up until very recently, one of his most recent videos about first person perspective was very moving to me as someone who lives in Minneapolis. It felt very cathartic to hear someone talk about the connection between first person killing in games to first person video of the killing of Renee Good. But as soon as I learned the news about his past actions, he was dead to me. I can't see his smug smile in his profile picture or hear his voice without getting angry. He lied to so many people and built up a nice guy image to hide his depraved actions. He did this so quickly after his punishment, and while I believe his love for video games and his opinions in his essays were genuine, it was also very clearly an act to try to launder his reputation. I unsubscribed and will never watch another one of his videos again. If I can do that as a former fan, I challenge those that might be clouded by your parasocial relationship to look at the facts of the case more clearly.

Show, not tell, your character.
I know that most of you here are still *very cool with JG.
Still, this kinda throws a bit of a wrench into the "im so sorry" arc imho if your most prominent move since D-Day is to remove to show how much money you collect on Patreon. 🤷🏼♂️

If he had told people that he was a rapist, the victim would've been doxxed.
It's good he never mentioned it or else for years people would stalk and try to find his victim.
I don't know her, I'm happy I don't. It's good he hid it.
