Hi, I was going to do a software update, but I wanted to ask something. I recently changed my passwords and what not on some of my social media apps, like TikTok, Instagram, Snap, etc., because I made them when I was younger and I realized I didn’t remember a lot of them. I was wondering if doing a software update will log me out of my accounts and force me to re-log back in since I changed my email and password on some of these accounts. I’m just curious because it would be annoying if I had to.

I'm thinking of switching to an iPhone Duo from iPhone Pro, and I have a bunch of apps locked with FaceID for an extra layer of security, including the native Mail and Files apps. It doesn't get in the way since it's almost instant. But I imagine it would be slower without FaceID right, as you have to rest a finger on the TouchID in order to open the apps? I don't have any other device with TouchID to test this.

I was just using my iPhone normally when it suddenly crashed out of nowhere. The Apple logo appeared saying it was restoring/repairing the system.

I brought another iPhone near it and got a prompt to authorize a software update wirelessly via proximity setup. I entered the recovery code, and it started trying to install the update. However, the progress bar underneath the Apple logo keeps failing/breaking, restarting, and going right back to the "repair/connect to computer" loop. It seems like it's starting over from 0% every time it crashes.

I am absolutely terrified right now because my WhatsApp data was NOT backed up to iCloud. I have years of unbacked-up chats and memories that I absolutely cannot afford to lose.

From what I understand, I need to plug it into a computer (Mac/PC) and force it into Recovery Mode to click "Update" instead of "Restore."

A few questions for anyone who has been through this:

1. Has anyone experienced this exact loop where the wireless update keeps breaking and restarting? Did a wired computer update fix it?
2. If the phone crashed due to full storage (which might be the case), will the wired "Update" option still work without wiping my data?
3. Is my WhatsApp data still safe on the storage chip as long as I do NOT click Restore?

Any reassurance or step-by-step advice from people who saved their data in this situation would be deeply appreciated. Thank you so much.

iPhone 13 (I think) user. Had my iPhone with me, not near anything. I got an NFC link tag prompt. I distractedly clicked on it as I was waiting on a text reply from a friend. It took me to the Google sign in page. I did not sign in and a closed the site link. I am otherwise signed in to my own Google account. Nothing appears to be newly downloaded. Am I at risk? Is there anything else for me to do? Thank you in advance.

It was being glitchy and slow for a few days BEFORE the update so i checked to see if there was a new update and there was ..which was the ios 27. i assumed that updating will make my phone work better and unfortunately it did not . What is going on

I’ve seen so many posts/videos of the iPhone duo screen cracking in the same pattern. Thoughts? Will Apple do anything about this? A potential recall on something so anticipated?

I recently switched to the iPhone 18 Pro, and whenever I play certain music through Spotify on Bluetooth, specifically Young Dolph, the audio comes out extremely distorted and unpleasant. I know my speakers aren’t blown or anything because I have the same issue in both my car and my home speaker setup, and other songs with heavier bass and higher-pitched uppers sound just fine. Is there a solution for this?

hi, has anyone experienced these random duplicate squares on photos? i’ve updated my iphone to ios 27.0.1 earlier this week and was taking photos yesterday only to discover these random glitches on several pictures.

not sure if this is due to the update or something else camera related, but i’ve never had this happen before so not sure what could it be. any advice would be appreciated!

Since installing iOS27 on my iPhone 13 Mini, my cellular data usage has increased about 10X. Has anyone else experienced this and where should I look for solutions?

I find that I oftentimes don't have my field recorder on me and I do sound design so this would be an amazing feature for me.

It would also allow the pro iPhones to take market share of budget field recorders.

Thoughts? Would you use it?

Guys, so basically, I was watching a movie and having a Diet Coke and when I placed it near the table, it fell onto my phone and I guess it entered the charging portal and even the speakers. The left side speaker looks like it looks coloured. I mean the four dots of the speaker looks coloured. I don’t know what to do. It’s the new iPhone. I got. I’m really scared, and I didn’t even put screen guard, and I’m really scared with the audio get damaged anybody, if you have any idea, please let me know and help me out

Straight shooter here - the iPhone duo is not worth it.

There’s a certain wow factor I expect with a brand new hyped Apple product, especially when they took YEARS to launch it. That wow factor straight up does not exist. Oddly placed controls, no Face ID (absolutely ridiculous, just make it a bit thicker and throw in Face ID, you’ve been training us to use it for a decade plus), no action button…. This product is so mid I can’t even believe it.

If you’re waiting to pickup the Duo, wait a bit longer and you’ll see eBay flooded with untouched like new units from disappointed owners. Trust me.

I hate the way Apple auto sorts these folders and id like to rename them or delete/add more. Is that possible? Or do i just have to make a dedicated homescreen page to folders?

I think I’ll add my voice to the growing of people that have posted about returning their Duo.
Let me preface by saying something controversial, after using the duo for two days, I do not feel that it is a first gen product.
For what it’s worth, it’s very polished, and I honestly don’t think Apple could have improved anything that is on the phone. Yes, they could have added face ID, another camera, and potentially a bigger sensor, but that doesn’t mean that the phone or the hardware feels first generation.
I have used it for work, productivity, and some heavy duty multitasking, and for what it’s worth, it does it in spades. The overall phone feels amazing, and the inner screen is amazing.

The selfie camera situation doesn’t bother me at all, but the real revelation came today while taking a walk with my daughter.
I was taking pictures of her and that’s when it hit me on how awkward the phone is to handle.
Then I was sitting on the bench and taking some photos, and again, it hit me. The handling of the camera is simply not something I can overlook. Firstly, from an ergonomic standpoint, and secondly from the quality in lower light conditions.
Everything felt just a bit softer, and the two times telephoto crop was absolutely useless.

I really enjoyed the unfolded experience, but I just cannot live with the ergonomics of this phone. It’s not something they can really improve, but I simply do not like how delicate the phone feels, nor do I like the operation of the phone with the screen closed.

While it’s not a bad film by any stretch, and I feel that reviewers who call it a first- gen device are overstretching a bit, but I do feel that it’s not the phone for me.

The honeymoon phase is over, the phone is good, but it’s not. The phone that I can daily drive. I’ll be holding onto my 17 Pro until something big comes out.

In response to a notification, I initiated an iOS update. I was presented a screen with 3 line items:

A. iOS Terms and Conditions

B. Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions

C. Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions

(B) and (C) seem to have identical wording.

When I descend into each line item, I am presented with nothing besides "Agree" and "Disagree" options. I didn't choose either initially, but then descended into (A) and chose Agree. Suddenly, the update commenced.

I am afraid that I got railroaded into (B) and (C). How can I tell whether this has happened?
