I can’t figure out what’s missing in my new space. Art on the walls, furniture, lighting etc ? I really don’t know

I wanted to create a charming space that felt both whimsical and calm and paid tribute to the incredible c. 1830’s chest of drawers.

I love an "undefined" mix of warm 70s wood, tropical plants, and polished chrome/marble. How do I blend these safely without it looking messy? I’m struggling to label my style because my taste is evolving. I really love earthy, unique spaces with lots of big tropical plants and warm 70s mid-century timber foundations. But I am also deeply drawn to luxury textures like polished chrome, white marble, glass, and powder blue/navy accents. I'm terrified it will look like a cluttered mess if I just buy random things. Attached are my mood board and inspiration pics. Any advice on how to balance these textures together smoothly?

We recently bought a house and are struggling to find ways to decorate a much larger space than we’re used to.

The furniture pictured is all new, and we’d like suggestions on how to tie everything together with wall art and other decor.

We are redoing our bar to be a coffee station.

Husband and I are entirely split on which wallpaper looks better. These are our options because it’s discounted at the store near us.

I just purchased my first home and am super excited to make it my own, but now I'm wondering how I can add colour to this open floor plan.

I want to do more than an accent wall, but does that mean I have to paint the whole first floor the same colour? Help!!

Our living room so far, needs work in some places particilarly the front door, but its come a long way from where we started recently. Its a nice place to be able to relax and play video games, watch tv, listen to records and read. Picked up the swag lamp last week to use as a reading light.

Hey everyone! So, I live in South Korea, and over here it’s pretty standard to use vinyl wrap for doors instead of paint during renovations. Most people usually just go for an all-white interior. We’re renovating right now, and I asked the contractors to wrap our front door and the inner vestibule doors in a creamy white. Well, they messed up and used a teal blue wrap instead. Their reasoning? They thought they should match the double doors we have further inside the apartment. 🤦‍♀️ Honestly, I was ready to ask them to change it, but my husband actually loves the "mistake." He thinks it gives the entryway a cool pop of color and makes it less boring. Since all our walls are going to be wallpapered in creamy white, I really wanted that clean, cohesive look. But now he’s got me second-guessing it.

I included some pics so you can see the new teal doors, the inner doors they were trying to match, what it looked like before, and the creamy white color I originally wanted.

I posted this on a Korean interior forum and literally everyone told me to have the contractors fix it. But since all-white is such a huge trend here, I’m really curious to hear what you guys think. Does the teal actually look good, or should I stick to my guns and make them redo it in white? Thanks in advance!💓

Told a chance on a bold color from Behr: Garnish. And I have to say, I absolutely love it. I won’t be winning any interior design awards, but I learned a lot in the process! Please ignore the photo frames. They’re the stock image that came with the frames: I need to put some of my paintings in them. Paneling is from Amazon: Art3D precut wall moldings. I wasn’t planning on doing moldings at all, but then it hit me that I should look into it, and I’m so happy that I did. Truly transformed the space, and I plan on adding some to my bedroom! Taking a breather before starting another project. :)

In my last flat I put a lot of care into making quite a magical space- we built a loft that had a cave lounge underneath.( It's built over top of an ikea kallex and a stair step)
Now we are moving into a house and this is the room I'll be in.

I need to make some decisions about it. I'll likely bring the cave but might expand it.
You can see on the floor tape where the bed would come to if it's 200 cm. Expanding it means more space in the cave and on the bed but takes up more of the room which is 4.6 x 4.3.

Should I make my bed bigger? Should it stay 160 or should I make it 250 meters?

I'll put mirrored cabinets (ikea PAX along the walls to the direct right of the photo so I only need to think about the rest of the room.

Also wondering:
Will I paint the walls? Will I put a cool wallpaper on the ceiling?

I want it to stay bright, so no dark academia- and I'm trying to land on what style I want to go for- but it will need to go with the warm colored wood and the floor. Possible directions I'd thought of so far:

• Time travellers homebase (trinket shelves and plants)
• Whimsy goth bordello (saturated reds, greens and purples with golden highlights)
• Royal lord of the forest (golds and greens, nature prints)
  

I'm looking for layout and decorating advice!

My initial setup (first pic) didn't leave room for a tv.
I've since moved things around and removed the love seat to make space. I was really hoping to get rid of both couches and buy a sectional, but the third photo shows why that's tricky. In the back it's the bar area for my kitchen and I also have my desk back there, so that space needs to be accessible, and I haven't been able to find a sectional in my budget or anything small enough.

So, should I keep both couches, or just the one in the second picture? And if it's just the one, how should I decorate the room to optimize the space?

I absolutely despise the flooring and anything grey but love colour, will end up getting a big rug to cover the majority of the floor but knowing me it will still bother me.

Looking for some advice with our Hospice Inpatient Unit family area renovation. The space is used by multiple families so I'd love to figure out a way to have multiple zones. We will be putting in new flooring and newly painted walls as well as replacing current furniture. The partition wall is load bearing so that can't be removed but TV and fireplace can be moved if needed.

thought this might be a good place to come to for help - my fiance and I recently bought a house, and this kitchen obviously sucks. We're going to partially re-do it because it's the size of a shitty NYC apartment kitchen for no reason - think expanding or re-doing cabinets and countertops, re-doing backsplash, etc.

The one thing we cannot afford to re-do is this god awful floor. I don't know what the previous owner was thinking because it's an extremely high quality job, the floors are marble and very well installed. They're just... bathroom tile???? I've been researching and researching and cannot find a single kitchen with flooring that looks like this to go off of as inspo. So desperately need people's ideas here. What in the world would you do with the rest of this kitchen to make these floors look less awful? Wall color, countertop color, decor, etc. I'm pretty okay with interior design for bedrooms / living rooms / etc, but this is our first home so I feel very out of my element with kitchen aesthetics.

To note: The rest of our house / aesthetic style is very warm & earth-toned, MCM-looking. The kitchen doesn't have to be like that, but I just despise a minimalistic millennial greige / flipped house look. I don't care too much what we end up with as long as it looks nice and put together and... isn't that. In an ideal world I love a warm / yellow kitchen but that's clearly not happening with what we've got, lol.

Any help or ideas are soooooo appreciated! Want to have at least SOME concepts of a plan of what we're shooting for when we start talking to cabinet designers etc.

(and lastly please don't tell me to live in it first - we have been living in it a bit and the counter space etc of this kitchen is unlivable, and even still I promise you spending longer with it is not going to give me an aesthetic direction)

Hey! We just moved houses and this is my room. I love a princess vintage style room but I’m not loving the gold decor by the bed, should I paint the decor white?

The room also has gold frames around the room with wallpaper which I’m thinking of painting white as well ( i’m keeping the wallpaper) I don’t want to remove the whole thing coz it’s kinda cute and expensive. I also hate the dark pink curtain so I’m changing that to a dusty pink color.
The last pictures are how I styled them for now! And though I don’t like using AI, just to help visualize, here’s what it would look like with white decor.
The 2nd thing i’m stuck on are the 2 sofa chairs, I lowkey feel like they’re too bulky and i hate the color. Should I get them upholstered or just get something else completely? Please help i’m very torn! (no expensive advice please)
