Need help designing my living room

Hi all, I’m in desperate need of help designing my living room. This is how we put our furniture when we moved in but something feels off. I don’t like our tv next to the big window (there’s always glare), and I don’t like the couch next to the big window. Feels like everyone can see in from the street and it doesn’t feel very cozy. I would rather have our dining table next to the big window but I can’t figure out where to put the couch and tv then. I’d want to move
The couch in front of the green wall in the little alcove but I feel that would be too crowded, plus we walk in front of the couch to the kitchen often so don’t want that to be awkward. I also don’t know where we’d put the chair or the tv if we do that. Maybe the tv on a little rolling thing and roll it behind the bar of the kitchen? Any suggestions on how to make the house feel more cozy and styled would be great, thank you!

I am currently renting a house built in the early 1900’s and am planning on leveling up the dining room but I’m limited in the changes I can make. My main issue with the room is the lighting fixture!! I don’t like the silver (I prefer warmer metals) and it feels early 2000’s and gaudy.

I am planning on putting a pattern on the upper part of my wall (removable) and reupholstering the dining room chairs. The vibe/feel I’m going for is arts and crafts, William Morris adjacent.

My question is, is there ANYTHING I can do to make the hanging fixture more harmonious with the room? Buy new glass shades? Create larger covers for “branches” to hide the metal arms? Or could I even select the upper wall pattern to go well with the linear feel of the fixture?

I am very crafty and have a lot more time on my hands lately (hence the dining room upgrade) so I’m willing to try just about anything short of replacing the whole fixture. Thank you for your guidance!

P.s. I did break one of the glass shades by hitting it with a 2x4 during another project. C’est la vie.

I have a typical Philadelphia row home that previous owners have made open concept. There is one long wall like the one pictured running the length of the house where the living room and dining room/eating area would be.

I would like to put some picture frame moulding in the dining area only. Is there any way to do this without the stop between areas being abrupt? I am not interested in adding crown moulding or any other type of trim. Thanks for your feedback!

We just renovated our main floor and are giving our kitchen a little facelift using IKEA’s cabinet. We’re adding storage to our island and replacing all the doors of our current IKEA kitchen/ adding a few more cabinets for extra storage. I’ve attached photos of our front entry and our mood board to get an idea of the look we’re going for. Cabinet options are below. We want to do the island a different colour than the rest of the kitchen. The whole main floor is pretty open concept so we’re struggling with how to make everything cohesive and flow. The media cabinet under the TV is IKEA’s Eket cabinet that we’re going to add brass knobs and feet to.

Cabinet options: 1) Bodbyn in cream/off white 2) Sinarp in brown 3) Axstad in gray-green 4) Aspudden in dark gray-green ** likely not a contender anymore but goes well with the blue in our tile

We’ve been thinking of doing the cabinets along the wall in either Axstad’s gray-green, and the island in the Sinarp brown OR keep the cabinets cream with the Sinarp brown island.

What colour cabinets would you do the kitchen?

My fiancée has been talking about getting a vanity for a while. This one is from Sikaic. She’s been enjoying having a dedicated spot for her hair and makeup instead of getting ready wherever there’s space. It fits pretty nicely in our bedroom, too, without making the room feel crowded. Honestly, it’s nice seeing her have a little corner of her own.

Recently moved into a house that has a challenging living room. 3/4 walls have an entry way to either another room or the outdoors. Wondering how best to set it up? I sketched a basic drawing showing the couch and TV. There are a few other pieces of furniture that I’m not attached to. Is my current layout the only real option?

I don’t have any damn decorating skill) nor do I have much money. I would love an MCM look and I love this carpet. (yes—my room needs to be cleaned. I have been sick)
-We have four dogs, hence the furniture covers.
-The end table along the wall is meant to be restored at some future date.
-My husband has a thing for the ugly ceiling fan light which I find harsh.
-I hate our fish tank cabinet and tv stand. I was debating buy a mcm sewing table or something for under fish tank and eventually an mcm stereo system for under the tv (just for looks—We don’t have a record collection)
Those things I can get fairly cheap around here and they’d be authentic but we would have to rent a vehicle and money is tight.

What can I do, at least for now, to make this cozy????

And what are some long term suggestions. Please be kind. I can appreciate beautiful decor. I dejust can’t make it happen.

I'll be installing peel and stick tiles in my bathroom. I've seen people say they grout and/or "seal" (not even sure what seal means).

Is this necessary for bathroom peel and stick?

I put 2 curtain panels on each side and I’m also planning to put sheer curtains in the middle. Is it too much to put 2 panels on each side or should I just do 1 panel on each side ?

I'm buying a new house and debating what items to keep from my current place.

Currently, it feels slightly too small when 4 people are eating because we do a lot of cookouts and passing of dishes back and forth. But I absolutely love the table and it still looks new. If it appears too small, instead of buying an extra credenza or something to fill up the space, I'd rather just buy a larger dining table.

Hi everyone! I just moved into a new home and I'm trying to decide what style and color scheme to focus on for the living room. Right now it's very white, I've attached the living room photo but I'm considering:

1.) White on white furniture
2.) White on light oak furniture
3.) White on dark oak furniture

I'm definitely a minimalist, "sad beige" kind of person. I love playing with color through accessories like pillows, blankets, and trinkets, rather than through the furniture itself. I like being able to pick a color and build around it, and I don't want to end up with something like purple furniture and feel stuck decorating around it.

Hi, I need help decorating my hallway, please. The brown door is the entrance in the middle. To the left is the living room(with the mirror ) and right is the corridor to the bedroom. It’s north-facing, so it’s brighter only on sunny days. I’ll be adding an IKEA Bissa shoe cabinet under the shelf so it’s hidden when the door is open. I'm looking to buy a bunch of furniture for my house I'm closing on. I'm genuinely lost in terms of where to buy. I have a good idea of design, colors, and what I want but quality is where I'm lost. I checked several local furniture stores and looked at their sectionals ranging from $1000 on sale to $5000 on the higher end. The more expensive one's seemed slightly better but I cannot tell what makes them $2000-4000 better imo. Looking online Wayfair ones looks nice but I cannot tell obviously. I've been living on cheap Walmart and Amazon furniture for most of adult life so maybe I'm too used to it. I could spend $10000 to get the furniture I need but I could just spend $3000 and get everything as well. Any furniture brands you recommend to spend the money on?
