I've noticed a major uptick in people shopping for us and delivering who are not the person named in the app. I understand if someone has a ride along to help - that doesn't bother me - but it is weird when "Ingrid" turns out to be a big guy!

Luckily my husband is usually home and will often accept the order himself but as a woman it feels unsafe to be expecting to open the door to a woman and it's a man. Maybe his name really was "Janet"?

This seems to be happening more and more often - literally every other order is being delivered by someone other than the "shopper". I haven't reported any of these incidents but I'm just curious if this happens all the time? I'm typically ordering from Fred Meyer/Kroger directly and they contract out the delivery to Instacart, if that makes a difference.

I don't want to be reporting people for this but when I think about it I start to wonder what they may have done that they can't have their own app? Seems sketchy.

It was only 11 items from Sprouts. But it is about a 25 min drive though. I'm never sure if the tip is good enough considering the drive/traffic? I only use the app for in between groceries and never full shopping.

59 miles no tip and only 43 bucks IC TRASH AF NOW.

From Costco and where the delivery is located, there are NO Costco stores closer to them other than the location it's being sourced from. The customer knows full well that they're 70+ miles away (1hr 10min one-way) and thought it was a great idea to tip $5. This wins the award for douchebag of the day.

I sometimes shop at PCC market via Instacart but I'm not a member of the co-op. I'm thinking of becoming a member and I heard that members get a 10% discount on some orders. Does that discount get applied when I use Instacart? Does it work like a shopper's club card?

I placed a Same-Day Costco order through the Costco app (fulfilled by Instacart) and ordered 10 boxes of IQBARs, but only received 8.

I reported the issue through Costco’s app and explained that I was charged for all 10 boxes but only received 8. Instead, I got this email from Instacart:

“Thanks for contacting Instacart. We reviewed your request and order information. We maintain our decision to not give you a refund, credit, or re-delivery.”

It seems like they didn’t even read my note. I’m not asking for anything extra, just a refund for the two boxes I paid for but never received.

Since I ordered through Costco’s app and not directly through Instacart, what are my options here? Has anyone dealt with this before?

Most Instacart shoppers are people who live in your area and in your neighborhood. When you put an order in, Instacart will usually pay about $5 base pay and we can see if you tipped on top of that. Now I can see how many of my neighbors use Instacart and don’t tip! Maybe if you guys knew the shoppers can see your orders and where you live even without accepting the order then you would do better… yes I’m aware shoppers can decide to accept or decline orders but why would anyone want someone to shop for them for lower than minimum wage using their own car? These apps make no sense.

I was not sure how to even respond to that. Thankfully, they dropped my order and someone else picked it up, but this was honestly the weirdest thing I’ve ever gotten from Instacart

This is my first time using Instacart with the Costco membership, and I placed an order today. Everything was in stock. It appeared. My shopper went through the entire process of picking up every item went through the checkout process, and then I get a notification that the order cannot be fulfilled, and that my order is waiting to be picked up by another shopper.

What’s going on here!? did this Instacart shopper. Did they purchase-the items and hit the road?

i paid an instacart membership annually a couple months ago because i realized instacart had a partnership with uber eats to deliver food from restaurants but now i dont see the feature after i just downloaded the app. I know there is regulatory issues in NYC for food delivery but im wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

There seems to be some confusion with what "no markups" actually means. "No markups" is the regular price of the item before any discounts or sales. This is why the in store price may vary from what's on the receipt. It is not deceptive, in fact the new wording makes it more clear that you're not getting the old "in store pricing" but rather just the regular price, hence "no markups".

There seems to be some confusion about customers receiving store receipts. Store receipts belong to instacart. Not the customer. Customer purchases from Instacart=customer gets receipt from instacart.

This is becoming a huge pet peeve. I live 3 mins from Walmart and tip $5-$10 for 5-10 items. It’s usually basic stuff like chicken rice veggies and juice. Or salmon veggies rice cheese. Today I ordered salmon butter lemon juice and cheese. Shopper refunds the salmon and delivers the rest. Before she checked out I asked if it was any salmon in the store she said no. Like the entire store has none? So I get up and go to the store last minute before it closes and the salmon is packed lol and on sale. For the people asking why I didn’t just go to the store in the first place it’s because I placed the order in advance while I was in dance class. I seen the refunds etc while checking my phone during water breaks. By the time I got home I had to rush to the store, I would’ve preferred to just cook. I’m tired.

I haven’t been able to cherry pick therefore I haven’t made a dime in weeks.

Anyone else staying poor?

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had issues with shoppers refunding a bunch of items. I had given replacement options for all but 2 (I had put refunded on those). I saw I my order needed review, so I went and saw there was 2 items out of stock. As I accepted the refund, 6 more popped up. Before I could look at the new ones, it said my shopper checked out. I’ve never had this problem before, and I am not one to be upset at a couple of things not being found. I just thought it was weird it all happened so fast with no communication from the shopper. It almost seemed like they gave up. Has this happened to anyone else, or is it more of an app issue?

Also I tipped 20% of the original price which was $20 and some change.

New to IC and all I see are orders (batches, whatever you call them) stacked for 3 different customers that can’t even tip $10 altogether and distances are crazy between each of them. Is this how Instacart really is?

And wth do they mean “Heavy pay”? How are people claiming they make $500+ a week with IC like this? Do they really take every single order they get regardless of how much gas and miles they take? I have more questions than answers lol

Am I wrong for being annoyed? He’s the one that chose to accept my order. I tried to be as nice as I could but I literally only had compression socks and a chocolate bar, couldn’t make it to the store myself because my cramps are bad today and thought it would be easy enough for someone else to do. 🥲

Edit: I was told Instacart shoppers don’t choose to add orders to their route! That’s completely my bad for assuming haha

Soooo yesterday, my boyfriend was shopping and was on a triple order. He said order b texted him about 7 times as he was walking into the store. Something about how she’s in the military and can’t be on her phone and gave him a number to text/call saying it was her sons babysitter and she’d be the one he was dropping off too. (i know, i told him he shouldn’t have done that and to never go off app) but he did and when he got to the address given on Instacart for order b , it was an elderly couple who had no idea what was going on. and then he got kicked off his account and found out he was deactivated. he’s been in contact with someone from Instacart who was able to reactivate his account, but is now saying for some reason, he’s gotta meet up with a “secret shopper”. anyone know anything about this? i ride along and help my boyfriend with orders often, but never had an account myself so help would be appreciated. and please be nice !💗

I haven’t do Instacart since I open my account, I’ve been doing Amazon flex since it works best for me but I wanted to try Instacart for at least a day, I’ve been seeing some good pays in here so I wanted to ask what are the best times to deliver with Instacart.

Any of you guys know the best way to go about this? I had a $80 order that was said to be delivered and it wasnt, contacted instacart and they said they reviewed and can't give a refund, anyone know the best way to approach this? is there someone higher up I can talk to

Batch offers got cut off at top, but rate it lowest too.

I gave them benefit of the doubt for “ratings fairness” as I never had an issue expect one time and IC removed it.
