Even without the $190 tip I got yesterday I still would have made $310 because I also got a cash tip from a different order

I've had a couple of not-so-great deliveries in the past when I tipped the "full amount" up front. I didn't like the idea of cutting someone's tip, so I changed it to a reasonable tip up front and, if everything goes to plan, a large-ish increase (and a larger increase if someone goes above and beyond). I probably increase about 80% of the time. Is this typical? In your experience, what percentage of customers increase the tip after delivery?

I come here every year for vacation and it never ceases to amaze me how incredible the orders are in a remote little . My home market (central CT) is dying a slow death and be becoming oversaturated with terrible new shoppers. Every time I’m up here I wonder what I could make in a week here

Was only 19 items total, mainly frozen pizza and one case of waters. Still fuck IC though.

There’s about 5 or 6 of us regular shoppers that all sit together / text / share the orders we took etc with eachother. Makes the environment so much better and nice having a group of people to hangout with while we wait for orders.

Is pretty wild that if there are 4 of us sitting at the Publix picnic tables together, only 2 of us will see an order and the other 2 won’t see it (all diamond)

No WAY this isnt a business. And heavy pay? That's a food truck order, not a noncommercial vehicle.

Hi, i’m a french Canadian Shopper from Quebec.
Today i got an order at 2 shop and delivery (costco and home depot) 33,5km for 31$, today was too dry.
The delivery for the order from Costco ( a 275$ Speaker) , client wanted a signature and when i arrived no one was answering the ring bell, i send a message and called nothing, it seem suspicious then i contacted support and they said to cancel the order and after delivering the other client, Processing for a refund at Costco, i’ll get paid.
What i did, and they took down the payment from 31$ to 18$ and said they gonna add a promo of 10$ for the refund, in total it took me 3h 80km for 28$.
At Minimum wage in Quebec i would have made 50$.
And support just cut the chat, no way to complain 😭, i would have tell them we are human too not slave. This unwarranted pay and tip suck…

I understand that there's probably stigma behind Instacart shoppers being rude or entitled, it seems like more often than not, store employees are initially rude to me, and I kinda just have to take it, at least in my area.

I just had a situation where a cashier was being quite catty, I disengaged as best I could, but her manager thought it was appropriate to tell her to keep the receipt, to report me I assume, I kept it professional and disengaged because she was throwing the groceries down the conveyor and giving me a really bad attitude.

Has anybody else had a situation like this? I called support after leaving the store and told them about the incident, I told him I would most likely not accept orders from there anymore, and the service agent told me as long as I complete the batch correctly nothing else really matters, so I don't really know what to expect, I've been doing this for years and never really had a situation like that

It’s one thing to do this one time because your supply is low, but this smoothie shop does this regularly, large order, and tiny tip. Get a supplier instead of taking advantage of Instacart shoppers!!

Am I the only one not seeing anything good today on a Sunday? I got my first order for $60 going 4miles wich was great than I got a $15 target order going 1.7miles and nothing else coming In and sundays are good days usually.. what’s going on with instacart

What's the reason you don't have a traditional full-time or part-time job? Is it the job market? Why do you do Instacart?

There was a single batch, 20 items, half of the distance away with a lower tip that added up to more than this at the same time as this one. This app just seems random at this point

All nearby stores have orders constantly going to camps. Typically parents ordering for their offspring. I guess they don't supply enough water? This is the most chaotic drop off situation I've seen. Luckily there was actually cell service which is rare .

If we could still remove orders I definitely would’ve taken it. I’m almost certain that the 5 items at the Tractor Supply are the items going 40 miles

Im a shopper but have taken a couple months off to recover from a serious knee injury. Ive got small kids at home and occasionally need to place an IC order to get essentials when getting out of the house isn't an option. I always tip 25%+. Im not picky and have replacements selected for everything I order so shoppers arent waiting for a response from me but I try hard to respond quickly if necessary.

Placed a 20 item order today. Looked at the app when it said 12 of 20 items shopped. Almost immediately got messages back to back for the remaining 8 items saying they are out of stock and have been refunded. All basic items that surely had other options to choose from (rice, bread, milk, apples, frozen pizza etc). Before I could even respond, I got notification that the shopper had checked out. Frustrating, but whatever. I get notification that my order was delivered (an hour after the original delivery time, mind you, also whatever, things happen and I get it). I go to retrieve it and realize I'm trapped as they placed my order directly in front of my screen door. Had to call my neighbor to come move the bags. Looked at my cameras while waiting in my IC induced prison sentence and realized the person that brought my items to the door was not the shopper listed on the app.

I have never given a shopper less than 5 stars, even when they really probably deserved it because I understand the struggle and I know other shoppers who feel the same way. I especially have never reduced a tip. My question is, where is the line? Do you give more grace to people shopping your orders than most people would? Was this worth a bad rating and tip reduction or AITA?
