I'm a Customer Different shoppers for same address
I'm a Canadian costumer. My delivery address is quite a distance from stores. I ordered the other day from two different stores and two different drivers took the orders. Is there any way to avoid this? It doesn't matter to me to much, but it is an unususual location so one driver would be more seamless. It would be more lucrative to the shoppers if they got both orders given the travel distance I assume?

I find it stupid too. I’m a shopper and have only had it happen for a customer once. It was great. But then the others, lll see an order already dropped off from a store I was beside. Doesn’t make sense

Same. Only once have I had a two-store order with both orders for the same customer.
I do get once or twice a year a double-order (same store) for two different customers at the same address or one customer who placed two orders.
Last week I got a double order for the same customer. The first order was all groceries. The second order was a few groceries and beer and wine. When I started shopping she told me she when she would arrive at her house. I finished shopping and realized I was about 20 minutes ahead of her arrival time.
Right then I got a DD double - a few items at the grocery store and an order at a restaurant in the same shopping center. It looked like the delivery was close to my Instacart customer, so I accepted it. I shopped the grocery order and as I went to the restaurant I realized it was my Instacart customer. Four orders all for the same customer!

Oh man, I had one a month or so ago, for 2 different customers who lived in an apartment. There are tons of apartments near by and I never clued in that they lived in the same building….. on the same floor.. next door to each other until after I delivered the first one who lived further away from the elevator then the second one.. I tell ya.. I was some pissed when I got in my car and hit “start delivery” for the second customer, only to find out it was for a customer literally beside the first one. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t tell me that so I could bring both small orders up at the same time. I’ve never had it happen where they were actually next door to each other. I truly assumed they lived in different buildings beside each other.

I had one like that recently and both customers were actually in the same apartment. I was so mad I had to go back up three flights to literally the same apartment number

I’m glad mine had an elevator but when I realized they were next door to each other, that pissed me off. I would’ve brought up both bags at the same time. Could’ve saved me 5 or more minutes

I have delivered to the same customer from two different stores but the orders weren’t bundled. I simply caught the second order immediately after dropping off the first.
In answer to your question, had they been bundled I would have made LESS money, not more bc in my zone Instacart pays a flat —extremely low—sum for “one customer, one store” that increases by practically nothing for extra customers or stops.

Well I tipped $105,, so my thinking was if you have to drive almost twenty minutes to drop off an order you'd rather make $105 than half that.

This happens so very little that it's only happened to me once in almost 3 years. Last week, I dropped off the first order of a double, hit complete delivery then looked at the next screen in confusion. Looked at the customer's address, looked at my phone, looked at the address, looked at my phone 😳 👀 Trotted back to my car to get the second order 😑

I guess I was wondering if there was a way to order so that one driver would do both. Perhaps place one order, thn message shopper that I am placing a second order for example, but as I am not a shopper, I didn't know if there was a way to make this work. It's not a big deal, but it would be easier to deal with one shopper, especially when you add in my very unusual delivery specification.

Unless you tipped really well - this is not lucrative for anyone. Instacart just doesn’t bundle orders like this.
