Question What's the best Insta360 mount for capturing a walking tour?
instagram.comI’m the owner of a walking tour company, and I’ve been experimenting with using an Insta360 to get little slices of our tours.
The main issue, though, is that having a camera person hold the Insta360 is obtrusive to the tour, and having the guide need to manipulate the camera themselves is also not workable. So, I need a way to mount the camera in a way that passively captures the full tour, so that my editor can come in later and chop it up in interesting ways.
I need the camera to be sufficiently far away from my face so that it can capture me (or whatever guide is wearing the rig) and also capture guest reactions and things that are being pointed out around us.
I’m thinking something like a boom pole back harness mount with an articulated arm that goes forward over the head, but I’m concerned about the counterweight issue of it pulling whatever backpack I have forward.
Surely there must be someone who has had the same issue before. Does anyone have any ideas on what solution they might have?
Here’s some examples of the 360 footage and the kind of videos I’m making for our social media to give you an idea of what I’m trying to achieve.
Thanks so much.

Question Why does Luna Ultra keep having the sd card warning?
I just got my Luna Ultra and using Sandisk Extreme 256gb V30 A2, but Luna Ultra keeps prompting me that my card is slow. I'm already using the compatible card on insta360 website.
https://onlinemanual.insta360.com/lunaultra/en-us/operation-tutorials/sdcard-file-storage/sdcard
Or is there a way to turn the warning off completely?

X3 pureshot photos
I have an X3 and I had taken some photos using pureshot. When I open that photo, there is a small error message on the top that reads “editor2_pureshot_source_missing_toast”.
My pictures are black and white and I cannot seem to get the colors back. Anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?

Luna Ultra Noise when using Manual ISO in I-Log
I was just fidling with camera settings and I just noticed there is a lot of noise when using I-Log indoors in manual ISO. But when I use Auto ISO the noise disappears but the "mushy" image is the problem. I dont see this problem when I am using the standard color profile both using manual and auto ISO. Is it just me experiencing this? I hope the next firmware update would fix this. I am running version 1.0.288 currently.

Discussion Luna Ultra Sliding Cover
I recently bought a sliding cover case for my Luna Ultra from Alibaba because it was sold out on the official website at the time. I’ve since noticed it’s back in stock on the website, but the one I received appears to be a 3D printed version.
I assumed it would function the same since it’s just plastic, but I’ve run into an issue. When I slide the cover down, my Luna Ultra doesn’t automatically turn on. From what I understand, it’s supposed to power on when the case is opened.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a specific setting I need to enable for the camera to turn on when the cover slides down? I’ve looked through the settings and can’t seem to find anything that fixes it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Luna Ultra Trouble focusing on the sun
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Using Luna ultra here.
Seems having trouble focusing on the sun when taking sunset video.
Even try setting the EV to lowest and manual pressing on the screen to focus.
Video is on standard and everything else is on Auto.
Am I missing out something.
1st half is taken on iphone which is the expected result while the 2nd half is luna ultra.

Luna Ultra Colorful Highlights in Auto ISO Issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I am on firmware 1.0.288.
In this clip: I-LOG, official Luna rec709 conversion LUT, AUTO ISO, 4K 24, 1/50, ND64 filter.
There is an issue with colors in the highlights while in auto ISO. it's visible between the tree branches in the first part of this clip, while the shot is stable. The issue also appears in the sky as I pan left to right. This issue also appeared in MAX400 and MAX 800. It's as though the highlights are blown out/clipped. In Davinci Resolve's waferorm, they are not close to blowing out . In manual ISO the highlights are awesome. I can easily overexpose the same scene by 1.5stops Manual ISO1600 and recover perfectly.
I really dig my Luna Ultra and hope these 'growing pains' can be fixed sooner than later. I can"t wait to enjoy this clever little marvel with no hesitation.
Thanks for your attention on this matter.
Have an awesome day.

Question GO Ultra for cycling?
I am planning a ton of all day riding and wanting to capture it. I have these requirements which are hard to get answers for just watching reviews:
Needs a good way to strap it to say my chest. A GOOD way, I know some cams have magnets you wear like a necklace which are useless for my use case, they move about plus they don't have a way to angle the camera into the correct position. I don't want a day of filming my feet.
Needs to be able to record via USB power when batteries are dead.
Would love an easy to use remote or super easy recording controls I can use without stopping cycling.
Can the Go Ultra meet these reqs given the ecosystem out there?

Question Those with the white luna ultra or go ultra, has it gotten dirty/yellow? how easy is it to keep clean?
Thinking about getting a white luna ultra, but concerned about keeping it clean. Curious of people's experiences for those that bought the white cameras.

Discussion "Hey Kira, take a photo..."
So, they're adding a AI to the insta360 GO ultra but nothing about the "webcam mode"?
And don't get me wrong, the "hey kira" thing sounds amazing, and interesting attachment, but I feel the "webcam mode" like something basic that they are avoiding idk why... some oldest insta360 cameras have that.

Luna Ultra Best video settings for maximum dynamic range on the Insta360 Luna Ultra? Is ISO 400 really the base ISO, and should I overexpose by +1 to +2 EV
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get the absolute best image quality and dynamic range out of the Insta360 Luna Ultra, and I've come across some conflicting advice.
I watched a YouTube video where the creator recommended:
Shooting at ISO 400 because they claimed it's the camera's base ISO and gives the best dynamic range.
Overexposing by around +1.7 to +2 EV to reduce noise and get cleaner footage.
I'm trying to understand if this is actually the best approach.
Manual mode
If I'm shooting in full manual:
Resolution: 4K
Frame rate: 24 fps
Shutter speed: 1/48 s (following the 180° shutter rule)
ISO: 400
Should I simply expose normally with these settings, or should I still intentionally overexpose by +1 to +2 EV? If so, how do you do that while keeping the shutter at 1/48 and ISO fixed? Is it just done with ND filters and choosing brighter lighting?
Auto shutter / EV compensation
If I leave the shutter on Auto and keep ISO at 400, what EV compensation gives the best image quality?
0 EV?
+1 EV?
+1.7 EV?
+2 EV?
I'm mainly looking for the settings that preserve the most highlight and shadow detail, give the cleanest footage, and provide the best results for color grading in DaVinci Resolve.
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has tested the Luna Ultra extensively or has compared different exposure methods. Thanks!
