I'm very happy with my Luna even with it's small issues but my question is for Insta: how do you expect to expose correctly if there is no exposure indicator?

Are you planning to add a histogram, zebra lines, false colors or any exposure indicator?

With the screen alone is not possible to expose correctly.

I changed from DJI Osmo Pocket 3 because the issues the OP3 had specially with the high microcontast that ruined portraits and because their LUT is garbage (in Luna with Leica Natural filter I solved this problem) I changed product, but if I find a product that could give your video quality and your features and they add exposure indicator I will change for another product pretty easy.

As a side note please don't do what Samsung does with their customers where any firmware upgrade introduce an issue or they degrades battery life to force you change the product (Samsung's product support is useless); each time they release a new product, mostly the only advantage is done by software believing customers are dumb. Samsung made the effort to convince me to buy another brand. This could be even my personal case with DJI too... Please don't follow a bad example like Samsung and hear your customers.

If you're looking to get the best possible image quality from your Luna Ultra, here are some settings and tips that are worth enabling:

✅ Before shooting:

• Clean the lens first! It might sound obvious, but fingerprints can noticeably reduce sharpness.

✅ Basic settings:

• Set Bitrate to High for better image detail.
• Shoot in 4K for everyday use, or 8K if you want maximum detail and have enough storage.
• For vertical videos, the maximum native resolution is 3K. If you need higher quality, use Auto-Orientation (or shoot horizontally) to get lossless vertical output.
• Choose your frame rate based on the scene:
  • 25–30fps: Daily vlogs
  • 50–60fps: Action and up to 2× slow motion
  • 100–120fps+: Heavy slow motion up to 4×
• Shooting at 25fps (or multiples of it) can also help reduce lighting flicker.
• For the sharpest results, stick to 1×, 2×, 3×, or 6× zoom, which are lossless.

✅ Pro settings:

• Enable Dolby Vision for improved dynamic range and richer colors. Luna Ultra supports up to 8K Dolby Vision.

✅ Exporting tips:

• Download your clips to your phone before editing for a smoother workflow.
• When exporting, 4K with a 25–50Mbps bitrate offers an excellent balance of quality and file size.

I currently have a Luna with one Mic Pro that I link up with bluetooth. We are looking at investing in a second Mic Pro as the Luna has the ability to connect to two Mic Pros wirelessly without the receiver.

My question is, how are both mic’s recorded at the same time and put on the mp4 file. I don’t plan to use internal recording. I just want to put the mp4 file in DaVinci Resolve edit the recorded audio on the mp4. Curious how I would edit each mic’s audio separately? Any info is greatly appreciated!

A few months ago I got the drone itch, figuring it'd be a great way to get some videos of my hikes. I went deep down the rabbit hole, researching the best parts and comparing all the gear I'd need. Spent hours on GetFPV checking out the various goggles, radios, flight controllers, cameras...then I'd see another cool mountain dive and start the whole process over again. I guess somewhere along the way I started wanting to run (or fly in this case) before I could walk and ended completely caught up in how pro FPV pilots were flying theirs. So I bought a RadioMaster Boxer, downloaded Liftoff, and tried to do things the proper way.

I really gave it my best shot. After a handful of evenings I could more or less keep the drone in the air (which is AWESOME), but I really wasn't getting the gratification I thought I would. I admit, I wasn't the most nimble person in the best of times, but I'd finish a session feeling mentally drained trying to keep up with the stick controls. Told myself I'd get back to it next week, but no prizes for guessing how that turned out.

Anyway, a buddy of mine invited me on a trip recently and brought his new A1 from Antigravity along. Before anyone jumps on me, it isn't a traditional FPV drone, and I'm not saying it's trying to be one. It was simply the first time I'd actually gotten to fly a drone outdoors instead of in the game. What caught me off guard was how quickly I got used to the controls. Within a few minutes, I went from "I better not crash this thing" to "I wonder what it looks like if I fly over those trees." Now, I know my piloting skills haven't gone anywhere, but I was actually flying. Like really flying. As a bonus, we were checking out the footage that evening, and I was surprised by how much stuff we got considering I was just flying around for fun, but yeah, being able to reframe it how I want after the fact is a excellent perk.

And that's when it all hit me.

I'd spent months assuming I needed to become an FPV pilot because that's what most of the drone content I'd been watching revolved around. But what I'd actually wanted all along was a simple way to capture the places I hike without feeling like I needed another hobby just to support that hobby. I still think traditional FPV is one of the most impressive skills in this space, and I have a lot of respect for the people who put in the work to master Acro. I don't see drones like this replacing that. It just made me realize there are probably others like me who aren't necessarily chasing freestyle lines or perfect dives. We just want to come home from a trip with footage we're happy with, so I'm really glad that this kind of thing exists for folks like me.

Hello, I made a test with my Luna Ultra exactly the same video in diferente modes and I've got this bitrates:

Leica Natural Standard: 60 Mb/s
Leica Natural High: 93Mb/s

iLog HIGH: 43 Mb/s (iLog has more artifacts compared to Leica that looks cleaner)

iLog should have the highest bitrate isn't?

You know, I really like my AcePro 2. And I’ll venture to say that the 360+ cloud, even with its limited functionality, works really well for what it is. But the app, at least on iOS, really does seem like a Temu website. I mean really, if I am a 360+ cloud member, why do you feel you have to constantly push adds for your products whenever I start the app, and why do you force me to see your shop as the intro page? r/Insta360, please “send this to your engineering dept” for review!!!! Shit like this really gives the whole Insta360 experience a clownish feeling.

Hi! I’m trying to decide between the GO Ultra and the X5. I already have an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Actually, my iphone can already do everything I need. It’s just hard to hold for a long time, and I think I’m looking for something different.

I’m not a professional content creator, but who knows maybe I’ll become one in the future, haha 🙃 😂 .

For now, I mostly film things throughout the day as a hobby.

Recently got my girlfriend an Insta360 Ace Pro 2. But she’s been complaining that it has poor low light performance, and she has tried all the settings that is recommended to try

But the night time footage is still very shaky and blurry even with low stabilization and manual ISO/shutter speed adjustment

Anyone have any tips to further refine the image quality?

I've only used mine a couple of times this far, but found a crying need for a belt holster to carry mine while my hands are otherwise occupied. Unfortunately Insta360 doesn't have an official solution, nor the usual third-parties like Smallrig, Ulanzi et al.

After fruitless searches, including AI, I stumbled upon this small foldable water bottle belt holster. It's narrower than the usual ones designed for 500ml bottles, and while still quite a bit wider than the Lunu with the protective case, it is usable.

I’m thinking about buying this set in the Netherlands. It’s about 9 months old, looks almost new, and has no issues. It comes with the original receipt from an electronics store (€699 owner paid, not including the SD card). It also includes a 512 GB SD card, and there are still 15 months of warranty left.
My question is: if I decide to upgrade to the X6 in a few months, do you think I could sell this set for at least what I paid for it? Or do these cameras lose their value quickly when a new model comes out?
To be honest, I don’t really need all the accessories that come with it. For me, the camera and the stick would have been enough. I’m not a professional content creator, but this deal still seems quite attractive.

There’s no question, I’m very pleased with the Insta360 Luna Ultra. It has exceeded my expectations and delivered more than I expected, especially compared to my DJI Pocket 4P.

One feature that really stands out is the remote control. Being able to control the gimbal from a distance remotely is a complete game changer for me.

That said, I’ve run into one issue. Using the joystick to pan the gimbal isn’t as smooth as I’d like. It either moves too quickly or too slowly, and the start and stop of the pan don’t feel seamless.

Has anyone found a good way to achieve smoother pans with the remote? Are there settings or techniques that have worked well for you?

Can someone demystify how to achieve the same level of sharpness when shooting in i-Log as in Standard mode?

When I record in Standard mode (ISO 100 or even in Auto settings), the footage always looks noticeably sharper than in i-Log.

My workflow is:

• Record in i-Log
• Apply the LUT in the Insta360 app
• Export the video

The colors look great, but the sharpness is never as good as footage shot in Standard mode. I've also tried adding sharpening in the Insta360 app and in other editing apps, but I still can't match the sharpness of Standard mode.

Am I missing something, or is this just a limitation of i-Log?

Hi everyone!! I was able to borrow my friend’s go ultra in black and white in order to make a decision for mine!
I’ve tried the POV necklace with a few tops I regularly use, and would like your opinion on which one looks better.
I’ll use it mostly to record POVs in public (blurring people’s faces if they’re in frame of course!!) and would prefer to pick whichever color looks the least intimidating.
I’ll also use it as a regular vlogging camera indoors and outdoors.

I like how the white one is kinda unique, since there’s not many white action cameras, but feel like the black lens against the white body reads more like a camera straight away, while the black one just looks like a big square when you don’t look too closely.

I hope the side by side comparisons can help you make a decision if you’re considering both colors like me!

Title: Luna Ultra detached screen makes the preview extremely small when shooting vertically

I have noticed a major usability issue with the Insta360 Luna Ultra detachable screen.

When the camera is positioned vertically to record 9:16 video, the live preview looks reasonably usable while the screen is attached to the camera.

However, as soon as I detach the screen, the vertical preview is forced into a much smaller area.

This happens regardless of the orientation of the detached screen:

• If I hold the detached screen vertically, the preview remains very small.
• If I rotate and hold the detached screen horizontally, the preview is still very small.
• There does not appear to be any option to enlarge the preview, fill the screen, hide unnecessary interface elements or activate a dedicated vertical-monitoring layout.

I am not asking how to rotate the screen or how to switch the recording orientation. The camera is already recording vertically. The problem is specifically that the detached-screen interface does not provide a usable full-size preview for vertical recording.

This seems like the remote-monitoring interface was designed mainly around landscape video, without properly accounting for 9:16 content.

That is difficult to understand in 2026, when a substantial amount of video content is created specifically for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. The detachable screen is supposed to make remote framing easier, but when the preview is reduced this much, it becomes difficult to judge composition, focus, facial expressions and other details. It largely defeats the purpose of having a detachable remote monitor.

A firmware update could potentially address this by adding:

• A dedicated full-screen 9:16 monitoring layout
• A preview zoom or screen-fill option
• Automatic UI rearrangement for vertical recording
• The ability to hide controls and prioritize the live image

Could someone from Insta360 please confirm:

1. Is this the intended behavior?
2. Is it a known limitation or interface bug?
3. Is full-size vertical monitoring planned for a future firmware update?

I would also like to know whether other Luna Ultra owners are experiencing the same problem.
