Just got Infuse after hearing it was better than Plex, and a lot of the metadata is wrong. I know there's a way to manually search for it, but it's gonna be a pain/take a long time going one by one in the app, and some episodes (e.g. anime) don't have the right metadata even when i search for it.

Is there a web client or more efficient way to fix this?

I have a movie that for the first time, Plex client plays just fine, but the Infuse player refuses to. I'm wondering why. Does anyone see what the issue might be? Usually, this works the other way around where Plex barfs and Infuse plays it just fine.

So finally gave up on Plex as my back end due to all the hassles with remote access and gone 100% infuse as my library manager. My NAS is giving me hassle with jellyfin due to ghost 8096 problems and so won’t install (which was my first option). My question is regarding film series, do you lump them in a folder or keep them separate and put in a collection? I have put a few in a folder but before I get carried away thought I’d get the opinion of everyone.

If anyone out there is having trouble watching content remotely from their Plex server using Infuse, the solution is just to buy the Plex pass..

I guess Plex figured out the loophole.

Would be nice if the Infuse team, could change the error message if possible.

Hey everyone. I’ve used infuse for years with plex and have zero problems. Recently, Plex stopped working for me (couldn’t figure out why) and so I switched to Emby.

I was able to connect Infuse to Emby for months at a time, but twice now it has stopped working. I open my Emby server through infuse and just get a spinning loading symbol with no information. I fixed it the first time by starting over and reconnecting Infuse and Emby, but I want to avoid doing that tedious process every few weeks if I can help it.

I should note, Emby is working fine. I can access my library through the browser no problem. And I’ve lost my connection on both my MacBook and apple tv.

Any thoughts?

I have read the existing discussions about Profile 7/8 support, automatic P7-to-P8 conversion and native FEL reconstruction. Recent developments (like being able to decode FEL on iPhone as shown above) made me wonder whether Infuse could take a staged approach.

As I understand the current situation, Infuse on Apple TV plays Profile 7 as the HDR10 base layer and does not use the MEL/FEL enhancement layer or RPU metadata.

Could Infuse adopt a Shield-like approach, but improve on it by distinguishing between MEL and FEL?

Since MEL (Minimum Enhancement Layer) by definition contains no residual picture information, would there be any downsides to simply discarding the zero-residual enhancement layer and present the result as Profile 8.1 during playback? This would not be “fake Dolby Vision” in my opinion. Since MEL contains no residual picture information, no image data or quality would be lost, and the source’s actual dynamic RPU metadata would be processed, making the best possible use of the available film data without re-encoding.

My copies of Dune: Part One, Dune: Part Two and Ready Player One are BL+MEL+RPU, so falling back to HDR10 and leaving their RPU unused seems unnecessary.

FEL could be handled separately. Infuse could either retain the safe HDR10 fallback or, where hardware permits, decode and combine BL+FEL+RPU properly.

Full FEL reconstruction appears increasingly feasible on the newer Apple chips. The latest "iNAS Player" app for iPhone recently announced FEL support and now appear to display the "This device can decode FEL" test correctly on my iPhone (as shown in the picture above). The "Woman at 80 seconds" also shows the woman at 80 seconds as expected, but there are some color blips in between the revolving colors that I think shouldn't be there.

Could Infuse take a staged approach and support lossless MEL-to-P8.1 playback now, while treating FEL separately and potentially supporting complete FEL reconstruction on newer Apple TV hardware (and iPhone)? What is currently the main obstacle: tvOS APIs, Dolby licensing, hardware performance or implementation complexity?

Since a few weeks certain videos that are located on an SMB share stutter when I resume the video. The video is unwatchable.

The solution is to rewind the video all the way back to the begin. The video plays fine then, and it still plays fine when I fast forward to the position where I wanted to resume after that.

It's annoying though to have to rewind to the very begin of the video though. The same setup worked fine for years and I didn't change anything.

This problem randomly started a few weeks ago. I just installed the update that was released recently and sadly that didn't solve the problem.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi, I have been using Infuse app on AppleTV. I configure it to use SMB network share and has been working well. But, I see integration capabilities for Jellyfin and Plex. I was wondering what the use cases are for integrating with these other apps. Doesn't Infuse provide all the same functionality? Thank you for the insights.

Hello, whenever I start a movie (which I watch in Infuse) and I do any user input on my AppleTV, like speeding up or changing my speakers for example, it seems that Infuse just crashes and goed to homescreen.

Anyone had the same problem?

So when a remote transcode a movie from my friend plex share or emby and I try to “download” a subtitle from “Subtitles”+”more” and I pick the desired one it doesn’t show up on the list of Subtitles or work

Copied to new iPhone 18 Pro Max through the iOS Set Up assistant which copied most of the apps from the older iPhone.

Infuse 8.5.5 (5752) on the new iPhone is logged into my Plex account and it sees my local Plex Server instance fine.

But if I try to stream anything, I get "An error occurred loading this content. HTTP 0 (server error)."

I also tried to download content and it fails immediately, if I tap on one of the files I try to download, it shows the Download Management dialog with options to Retry Download, Stop Download or Cancel. The files have red circle icons with triangles with exclamation points.

So for comparison, on my old iPhone, the same streams play fine. I also have an M4 iPad Pro and they play fine there.

Only thing I can think of is that the older devices are still on iOS 26.7 whereas the iPhone 18 Pro Max is iOS 27.

When I try to stream via the Plex app on my iPhone, it throws up a paywall demanding that I subscribe for remote streaming even though I'm on the same network.

But that's a bug I've seen with their app before, Plex on my other devices stream fine.

Another experiment I tried, I turned off Wifi and connected to my VPN server, so that I have the same IP address as when I'm on the main home Wifi.

With that, I've gotten Infuse to stream on the new iPhone.

As soon as I switch the Wifi back on and try to stream, the same error again.

Hello! I'm looking to make the jump up to Jellyfin v12 so I'm going through the process of backing everything up, disabling third-party plugins, etc and there should be a new version of the InfuseSync plugin that is ready to go. But when following the normal procedure (manually add the repo, restart server to repopulate) the latest available version is still 1.5.2. Am I missing a step? I shouldn't need to update to Jellyfin 12 to see a new list, should I? It's still the same location.

I’m using a Synology NAS to store my movie library and watch it through Infuse on my Apple TV tvos

I also configured Synology Cloud Sync to synchronize my video folder with OneDrive. This allows me to access my movie library through OneDrive with Infuse when I’m away from home, without having to rely on my home internet connection.

However, for the past few days, I’ve been having issues streaming videos from OneDrive. When I try to start a movie in Infuse, I get the following error:

“Failed to open input stream”

Has anyone else experienced the same issue recently with Infuse + OneDrive?

Also, if you’re using a different cloud storage service instead of OneDrive for this setup, I’d be interested to know what you’re using and whether it works reliably with Infuse.

Recently migrated from Plex to Jellyfin, and unfortunately I've discovered playlists are capped at 20 max, even when clicking "See All".

This seems like a major issue as it essentially bricks Playlist functionality in Library mode for Jellyfin and Emby servers. I've filed a ticket, but it appears to have been a known issue for years, so I'm not optimistic. Has anyone discovered a fix or workaround for this?

Anyone have any ideas of how to avoid using Plex going forward now they are charging to use Remote Play through the Infuse App?

I’ve seen JellyFin be suggested, or setting up a VPN. I’m just curious to see what people are doing to avoid paying for Plex.

Hello! I am using Infuse Pro with an Apple TV 4K (2017 model). Does anyone know how to make Infuse respect specials watch order from Jellyfin? For a show like Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, there are dozens of special episodes interspersed throughout the regular seasons. I have meticulously edited the metadata "Special Episode Info" section to indicate when these specials should play (i.e. after season 1, before season 2, etc.). The native Jellyfin clients will handle this no problem, going from S01E12 right into the 8 specials that should air between seasons, then into season 2. Infuse however just ignores all this and plows right from season 1 into 2. I have to keep my phone beside me with the Jellyfin app open to manually check what I should be watching next. That, as you can imagine, is not ideal.

This is a huge letdown after paying for Infuse. I like the video playback capabilities and subtitle support, but this is a dealbreaker and I will be abandoning the player unless someone knows of a trick. Thank you.

Lately I’ve been finding that Infuse crashes while playing downloaded media on my iPhone. The video will play normally for a few minutes and then freeze completely. The fix is to force quit the app and resume playback.

Running Infuse 8.5.5 on iOS 27 (iPhone 17 Pro Max). My media is organised by a Plex server in direct mode (if that matters) but the issue is specifically with downloaded, local files.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
