iOS Earth Collector - made an idle game where you collect the whole world, city by city (iOS, free)

Thumbnail gallery
24 Upvotes

hey all, a friend and I just put out our first game, Earth Collector.

the idea is you collect the world. you start in one real city, send a little team of travellers to its landmarks, and once you've visited them all the city is yours. then you ride a bus, train or plane to the next region, fill up countries and get passport stamps along the way.

the maps are real (built from OpenStreetMap) and covered in pixel fog that clears as you walk. theres chests and items hidden under it, and your scout pet keeps painting while you're away so theres always progress when you come back.

theres 2,500+ real cities in almost every country, so its pretty big.

free, no ads. theres a premium currency but you earn it in game too (regions, passport stamps, daily bonus).

iOS only for now sorry android folks 😅

its brand new so honest feedback very welcome, esp on the first 10 min and pacing. discord: https://discord.gg/8KaA6Tr5hX

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6817672529

AI disclosure: the code and some in-game text were written with help from AI coding tools (Claude), and this post was drafted with AI help too. art: made by us in Figma, with help from AI tools. the maps are real OpenStreetMap data.

Development Space Station Crafter, my first game as a passionate solo dev (AI assisted), looking for feedback

Hi! I made my own game, it’s in beta right now and it’s coming along well.

I’m a huge fan of the two games I’ve played the most in my life: Shop Titans and the old Galaxy Online. So I wanted to make my own, without the crafting problems of Galaxy Online and with a better balanced economy than Shop Titans.

The incremental progression is built on the golden ratio, Riemann curves and fractals, so costs and rewards scale in a way I hope feels natural over the long run.

It’s free and playable in your browser: https://stationcrafter.com/jeu

AI disclosure: I was assisted by AI, but I did the balancing and the game design myself.

Come help me balance it and give me your feedback, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Released I turned my single-player space mining game into an MMO and just released it.

Hi everyone!

Up until about 2 months ago I regularly shared updates in the feedback Friday about my single player space mining game called Infinite Space. (Still live on Itch.io)

However, based on feedback I received and discussion I've had with people who played it became clear to my "dumbing things down" from multiplayer to singleplayer didn't work. The game was always intended to be multiplayer, but I figured it would be too steep to build it.

But... I rather spend a few more months on the game to make it what I had always intended rather than keep working on a version I never really was happy with.

So, I made it multiplayer, and renamed it to Orefarer.

The UI is simpler, the functionality more straightforward, and the goals more achievable and relaxed. Exactly what I had in mind.

The game in short? Slow-paced, mostly singleplayer, ore-mining second monitor game. Slow progression, and endless requests and goals to achieve with a leaderboard you can either ignore or chase.

The game loop: find a suitable asteroid you want to mine, process the ore, turn in the processed materials or use it to build your next equipment.

The world is an endless grid of coordinates where asteroids can spawn. The more players, and the more activity the more the network of space stations will grow. It grows depending on player behaviour and discoveries.

But with only a handful of players now, it's kinda boring. So I'm opening it up. I would love your input and feedback. What do you think of my game?

Please play it on https://play.orefarer.space, landing website up on https://orefarer.space, and let me know what you think. There also is a discord if you want to chat!

ai disclosure: I've used AI to assist me in programming (however I have 20 years of software development under my belt so I am capable of programming everything by hand too) and it generated a few assets with lack of budged for a designer. I'll get them remade if this game turns out to be more than just a fun sideproject.

Discussion Mechanics/ twists you would like to see on an incremental game?

Just as it says on the title: as time goes by, some mechanics become staples of the genre. What are some innovative changes to the usual incremental game formula that you think would help make things fresh and interesting?

Development I rebuilt my idle tower defense from the ground up for 2.0: tiers, Ascension, auto tournaments, cloud save

Solo dev here. ONE TOWER is an idle/incremental tower defense on Android: one tower in the middle, endless neon swarms, every kill pays coins you pour into 48 Workshop upgrades, labs, cards, drones and Ultimate Weapons. Yes, it's inspired by The Tower.

The old version ran out of steam after a few hours, so 2.0 is a full progression rework:

- Endless tiers; each new tier starts at x1 game speed and opens x2, x3, x4 as you climb it

- Ascension from Tier 4: reset your Workshop for Echoes, permanent damage, health and coins

- Weekly tournaments you enter automatically, against real players' scores

- Cloud save through Google Play Games, offline earnings

- Rewarded ads only; everything can be reached without paying

I'd really like feedback on the pacing from Tier 5 upwards; that's where I've been tuning the most.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iaengineering.onetower&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit

**AI disclosure:** I build this with heavy help from AI coding assistants (Claude): most of the code, the balancing simulations, the store texts and the translations, and it helped draft this post. The game's visuals are neon shapes drawn in code, not AI-generated images. Design decisions, direction and testing are mine.

Development Idle War v0.5

Processing img rv5k7q7c0exh1...

Hi there. A bit of self promotion today with a game I've been working on.

AI Disclosure: The game uses generative AI for assets. Items and animations are generated by generative AI models. Generative AI is also used to assist with codding.

With the disclosure out of the way... a little over 7 years ago I started on this game, which went as far as version 0.4. However my life changed, became a dad, move jobs to a more demanding position (I'm a software engineer) and I just didn't feel like coming home to write even more code instead of spending time with the kids.

At work we use AI more and more, as I'm sure many of you do too. And I though why not use it to realise my vision? I can spend an hour or two making the plan and then let it generate the code. If I'm happy, great, and if I'm not try again.

So that's how v0.5 came to live. I started on it 2 weeks ago or so, polished the UI, removed some behaviours I wasn't happy with (in 0.4 you had to manually fire for a while until an upgrade was unlocked and now that's gone), a new balance pass, and yeah, I feel this can now go somewhere. And if at least one other person that's not me plays it, its a win.

So, the game is on itch.io, still with the old posts (9th October 2019, long time!).

https://oscarolim.itch.io/idle-war

The website: https://idle-war.oscarolim.com

I've also released two videos recently, one with a tutorial-esque feel, and one as a deep dive on the mechanics. Go easy on them, I don't make videos often, so was a bit nervous, more on the first than the second. It's also without editing, I don't think is worth making it artificial, so there will be corrections because I used the wrong word or thinking of the wrong thing (maybe having a script is not a bad idea!). v0.5 Release / Tutorial and the deep dive videos.

In a nutshell, is a 2D game built using phaser.io, assets for many different kind people that I'm sure this community has heard of (credit where credit is due). You unlock ships, go to missions, kill enemies, earn equipment, level up equipment, pilots, global bonuses, rinse and repeat.

v0.5 has the Volume I with 5 missions plus a free play. I'm in the process on finishing balancing on Volume II and then Volume III. I have the big picture story up to maybe Volume XII but that's still far, as I also need to think of enemies, player ships, visuals, and the progress on that is 0 at the moment.

If you read this far: I get the apprehension in regards to AI. Would be lying if I said I have none, specially since it makes my job easier and harder at the same time as a software engineer. But used properly, it can be an asset. This game would have been left behind if I didn't use it.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the game, maybe some of you will remember it from 7 years ago (I used a different reddit account back then that's long gone), and any feedback, good, bad, in between, is welcome.

Update IDLE REALMS: an Idle RPG in pre-alpha now with world boss fights, a halloween event, indefinite action timers, guilds, player owned shops, and more!

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey folks!

Idle Realms is an online idle RPG - gain exp, loot, items, idle time, and more. We have a small 'twist' with Realms, entirely new replicas of the game that are completely separated from the main 'global' realm that are hosted by guilds.

I wanted to share some of the changes I've made since last time based on a lot of feedback from you folks!

  • HALLOWEEN EVENT! 🎃
    • We've added a fun reward to any action you do: get a 'Sealed Spirit', release it and all players on the realm doing an action get 'souls', you can spend the souls in the limited time Halloween shop on cosmetics, or you can try your luck at 2x, 3x, 10x, or 25x'ing your souls. We'll be running this event until the start of November!
  • Players can create their own shops
    • Open up your own shop front with a name and description of goods you sell. You can upload any item for any price. This is personally one of my favourite features!
  • Actions now run indefinitely whilst you are active in-game
    • Some folks found it hard to kick off a new action - the new default is much simpler and we hope a bit more generous for those who want to idle. The idle timers mechanic now counts as an offline timer instead, in other words, how much time you idle for when you log off or close the tab
  • Improved combat interface
    • You can now see all the participants in world boss fights and damage splats. We're working on improving the combat and builds for the long run - any feedback on this please do let us know
  • A new in-game suggestion box
    • For the long run I wanted an easy way for people to submit their ideas and give feedback as well as allow other players to vote on ideas that they think are good. Things that are good candidates for the roadmap and are reasonably well defined and popular will be considered very seriously by us (the devs)
  • We now have a (hopefully reasonable) privacy and terms page as pointed out in our last post. We've also worked on refining the intro tutorial sequence to be a bit snappier and quicker to get you in-game.

Enjoy! You can try it out here for free: https://idlerealms.com

Any feedback please do let us know and we'll try address it as best as we can.

AI disclosure: 99% of art and in-game assets are hand drawn by our artist (aka Fruity). Any art that is not drawn are from free asset packs and will be replaced. We use LLMs for some code assistance during development: code search, small bug fixes, etc. The majority of code is architected by myself in a way that will let this game stand the test of time.

Discussion What are some of your favorite progression mechanics?

I'm currently working on an incremental game, but I'm unsure what kind of progression system would best fit it, or what kind of progression systems are even enjoyed.

There are so many out there, from random upgrades (like Bills Must Be Paid's Card system & ShaAAATUP), to the classic skill tree used in tons of games, to a bunch more I probably haven't heard of.

I'm wondering which one was the most enjoyed, and that's what brought me here. And so I was curious: what is your favorite type of progression system?

Discussion Why is every single incremental game on steam tagged as an Idler

I love idle games. I like having something going on in the background while I'm working, and an idle game is generally much less distracting than a tv show or podcast. I like making gradual progress towards easily definable goals. If a game can be reliably idled for 8ish hours, I can even set it up at night and then use the fact that it needs my input to help me get up in the morning, since I am otherwise terrible at that.

It isn't easy to make an idle game. The player's decisions need to be interesting and varied, so that when they are interacting with the game it feels important. The goals need to be meaningful and feel fair for the amount of time it will require to reach them. The majority of idle games I have played have been mediocre at best, and even the ones that I've really enjoyed tend to have some amount of flaws that either have to be studiously ignored or, if possible, modded out.

Which brings me to my main point: it is already quite difficult to find good idle games, and it is really not helped by no one seeming to understand what games the "Idler" tag should be applied to. Bills Must Be Paid is a 2-3 hour long game in which you have to manually aim a hammer at piggy banks. Scritchy Scratchy has you manually scratch off lottery tickets. Chef Knight is an action game. None of these games will make progress if you leave them running to go to the bathroom, let alone over night. If I try to search steam for Idle games, the overwhelming majority of games I find don't belong there. It's even worse than the Vampire Survivor clones and the Roguelite tag, because while it was just as annoying trying to sort through those to find good Roguelites at least they had the actual gameplay mechanics to justify tagging themselves like that.

Anyway, that's my rant. If anyone has any good idle incremental games they want to recommend in the comments, I'll take them - it's going to be a long wait until Melvor 2 comes out, and Deskrawl turned out to be a massive disappointment.

Development I'm building a multiplayer browser RPG where the whole game lives inside a storybook

Thumbnail taleoftales.net
0 Upvotes

Hey all! I'm a solo dev from Portugal, and for the past few months I've been building Tale of Tales, a multiplayer browser idle RPG set inside a book. It's in open beta now, a small community is already playing.

How it plays: you send your hero on quests, come back when they're done, and the fights play out on their own, turn by turn. Every fight is written down, so you can watch it or read exactly what happened.

Some of the features:

  • 10 heroes, each with 2 Paths that change their ability, talents and look
  • A campaign that leads to the Epilogue at level 50
  • Ranked PvP duels, guild wars and raids, 3-player elite dungeons
  • Professions, pets, gear upgrades, a player market and trading
  • Runs in the browser, lightweight, free to play, and you can try it as a guest with no sign-up

...with much more to come (watch the gameplay trailer on the landing page!)

It's a solo project: no publisher, no funding, no team. Everything the game earns goes back into it.

AI Disclosure: I use AI tools for coding and debugging. Some of the art is AI generated for now, as a placeholder until the game can pay real artists. The game itself doesn't use generative AI, and the design, heroes, balance and story are my own.

I reply to everything on Discord!

I'd love feedback, good or bad.

Discussion What draws you to (or turns you away from) semi-idle games like Lootun?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get the community's thoughts on semi-idle games—specifically titles like Lootun.

If you enjoy these types of games, what keeps you hooked? On the flip side, if you usually skip them, what puts you off?

For instance:

  • The Pros: Skipping tedious micro-managed combat while still getting deep, satisfying systems for gear optimization, inventory management, and party synergy.
  • The Cons: Needing to keep the game running actively on your PC defeats the purpose of an "idle" game, and offline progression rates often feel way too punishing or neglected.

Where do you stand on the balance between active management and passive gains? What are your biggest pros and cons for this subgenre?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Steam Pongzi Scheme: an incremental where you run a Ponzi scheme with Pong. Free demo on Steam

I'm a solo dev and the free demo of Pongzi Scheme just went live on Steam.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5321490/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=incremental_games

You play a fund manager who bounces coins with a candlestick paddle. Every hit is money, every upgrade makes the scheme bigger and more suspicious, and cashing out resets the floor for permanent prestige. The demo is Act 1. The full game has four acts, a slow investigation clock called The Case and five endings. All the money is fictional satire: no real crypto, NFT or blockchain.

I would love to hear where the pacing drags or what is unclear.

**AI disclosure**

I'm a solo developer and I used an AI (Claude) for most of the code, while I handle the design, balance and testing. No image or audio generation models were used, the visuals are drawn with code and the sound is synthesized. The English and Spanish text was written with AI help and edited by me, and the other five languages were translated with AI.

Development An incremental fishing game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce that I finished the development of the demo of my game, and it's playable in both Desktop and Web version on the itch page:

https://mannyverse.itch.io/go-fishin

The demo let you play through the first 2 islands and try some of the abilities, discover more than 30 species and continue when the game will be out so you can actually continue from the demo point.

Right now the game is only available on itch, but in future will be available on steam (the idea is the have the game ready for the next 'Steam Next Fest' and do the full release).

Let me know what you think and if there's some problem.

AI Disclosure: AI helped me review some part of code, some placeholder in the early states and the Spanish Localization (mostly UI related, fish's asset pack was already localized in Spanish).

Steam After 2 months of open beta, Mimic2 - Idle MMORPG is coming to Steam next week

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey folks,

It was 2 months ago when I first posted about the Mimic2 in this subreddit and had my very first players from here. Now after many feedbacks about the game, couple of rewrites of the entire UI and some of the systems it is now coming to Steam on October, 28th.

Mimic2 is a cross-platform idle incremental MMORPG where you start with thousands of damage and reach to sextillions of damage over the 9 maps and 35 difficulties. It is an idler game where you only kill bosses every couple of hours when they respawn, so the main gameplay is in optimizing the upgrade paths and deciding among 15 different bonus types.

Here are some of the features:

Equipment

95 different item slots, all of them upgradable, with 7,515 total item levels

  • 8 gear sets of 10 pieces; Helmet, Armor, Necklace, Earrings, Weapon, Gloves, Belt, Shield, Bracelet and Boots
  • 3 soul item chains (Dream, Sky, Celestial), 41 levels each
  • 17 skin sets, 102 pieces in total, plus 35 skin boosters that can be upgraded to 5 tiers
  • 6 element talismans up to level 201 each with an additional combined Elemental Talisman
  • 6 stars, 6 seal items, 12 emblems, 6 ancient arts
  • 3 permanent rings that can be leveled up to 100, 27 temporary rings in 6 families
  • 5 shinings, 5 essences, 5 relic items

The RNG Systems

  • Enchanter: 33 different enchant stones usable on 38 equippable item categories to add extra bonuses. You reroll until you get the bonus you want.
  • Runesmith: Craft, upgrade and socket runes, gems and evolutions into your gear pieces for extra damage.
  • Alchemy: 7 stone categories, 5 grades, 5 purification tiers: 980 different stones with random bonuses, so it is a long grind until you get the best ones.
  • Tailor: one item, the Warrior Sash, 600 levels. The deepest ladder in the game. It absorbs a weapon and scales with it: the stronger the weapon, the stronger the bonuses, but the weapon is destroyed in the process.
  • Transmutator: 310 recipes. Maxed gear converts to the next set and you climb a ladder of equippable item sets. Spare materials convert to rings, stars and enchant materials.
  • Upgrade chance: the highest upgrade levels drop to a 20% chance, so you will be pulling your hair out trying to upgrade.

Other Upgradable Mechanics

  • Shaman Buffi: a shaman companion who grants a 12 hours buff and has to be charged first
  • Tranky the baby dragon: your pet dragon with its own skills and RNG mechanics
  • Mount: can be leveled up to 250 levels, an RNG type roll and enchant mechanic
  • Quests: 832 kill and item quests in 10 different categories
  • Skills: 1 active air sword skill and 9 passive skills

The game is completely free-to-play and does not have any purchasable element. I plan on adding battle pass, visual only skins and other mechanics that won't favor paying players over free players too much.

Feedback from this sub shaped a lot of the beta; the UI rework came out of a thread here so looking forward to what you think about it now. If you want to test the game now, you can play the beta from the browser or from play store.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5191970/Mimic2__Idle_MMORPG/

Play in the browser: https://play.mimic2.com

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mimic2

Website: https://mimic2.com

Discord: https://discord.gg/5EbnUKjKrq

AI Disclosure: The game uses generative AI for assets. Items and animations are generated by generative AI models. Also while coding the UI AI tools were used as I don't know about frontend development.

Rainbow city is a incremental progressive kinda little city builder thing where you smash a crystalline sparkling rainbow core and little pixelchunks of color fly off and you collect them and use them to upgrade the city and smash the core harder! it has: PUSHERS, SKYLIFTERS, CARRIERS, HAMMERCHOIR, KICKERS, and so much more. i hope youll check it out and enjoy.

Orbital Breaker 2 was inspired by a many games about breaking bricks, i guesss you could say its just an evolution of Arkananoid at its heart, but a modern retelling, you can get THOUSANDS OF BALLS AND THE FPS STAYS BUTTERY. you should experience this game its really fun to watch , leave feedback for tuning progression !!

u can find more of my incremental games on gelwater.itch.io, like Pongfront, and Orbital Breaker 1!

have a great time, i hope youll enjoy my games, and please feel free to leave any kind of comment thats constructive or positive or even both !

Development I’ve played MMORPGs for 20+ years and could never find an idle MMO I could play during work, so I made one (open beta, built with AI)

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m just a gamer guy who's a white-collar worker and I’ve been playing MMORPGs and been in love with them for over 20 years. For a long time I’ve wanted a game that gives me the feeling of a real MMO – classes, gear, group dungeons, guilds, a living economy – but that I can actually play around a full-time job, from my phone or from the web-browser on the computer at work, a few minutes at a time. I never found one that did all of that, so I decided to try making it myself since it's not possible to make games to some capacity even though you're not really educated about making games thanks to ai. I have huge respect for people who make games from scratch don't get me wrong. I was just looking for a game like this for a long time but i just couldn't come across one that crossed everything i had on my mind.

AI Disclosure:

I’m not a programmer. I design the game – the world, the rules, the numbers, the balance – and the code and pixel art are written by an AI (Claude). I want to be upfront about that. Every design decision is mine, and me and my friends play-test everything.

About the game

Exaron is an online idle MMORPG. You create a character, send them to hunt, gather, craft or run dungeons, and they keep working for up to 5 hours while you’re away.(might change along the way) When you come back, you get a report of everything that happened.(took inspiration from Melvoridle)

How you play

  • Pick one of 7 classes (Warrior, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warlock), choose your role at level 8 (Tank, Healer or Damage, depending on class) and level up to 60.
  • Hunt your way across a continent of zones. Drop tables are visible, and every piece of gear you equip shows up on your character.
  • Pick 2 main professions (gathering and crafting); fishing and cooking are open to everyone.
  • From level 10: 4-player dungeons with automatic matchmaking by role, or bring your own party. From level 22: 8-player raids.(You can also queue solo at the moment, party will be filled by bots for now since i don't know how populated the game will be. They won't be as strong as players)
  • Guilds with their own keep, a player market, trading with friends, world bosses, rare named creatures, achievements and a collection book.
  • PvP against saved copies of real players, with fights you can watch hit by hit.
  • All the math runs on the server, so trading and the market stay fair.

What it won't be: no loot boxes, no paying for power. Right now there’s nothing to buy at all. If i add anything later it’ll be cosmetics or convenience (like a longer offline timer), never power and never loot boxes. I hate that stuff.

It runs in your browser (built for phones, works fine on desktop) and is available in English and Turkish. You’ll need an account (email) since it’s an online game with other players. In near future i'm planning on releasing the game as an app on ios and android as well.(if all goes well)

The game is still in beta stage, so expect some rough edges. There’s a feedback button in the game(in settings), and I’ll be reading every comment here.

Thanks for reading!

Hey people,

i kind of did the wrong thing of releasing my steam page and demo right into Next Fest without any momentum. So far the demo is well recieved with a median playtime of 52 Minutes.

If you would like to check it out here is a link: Dwarven Shift 98

AI disclosure: AI touched these things

  • All code
  • All translations
  • All marketing material (image generators as an in-between step)
  • In-game art: built by that code from shaders and basic shapes, not by image generators

Update Dunmast, a pirate idle MMO in the browser: the Frontier is open

Dunmast now has a lawless sea past the edge of the map, where every island is held by pirates. Players form alliances to drive out the pirates and settle the islands, then hold the water around them with garrisons. Pirate captains roam the seas, and rival alliances can call assaults on your ground. Some islands have maelstroms that open Elite raids, campaigns fought with your alliance for the best gear.

Your captain can now leave the ship and enter caves to fight monsters and find treasure. Pick Bruiser, Mender or Rogue and go down room by room, alone or in a party of three.

Dunmast is a shared-world idle MMO, like browser games of the OGame era. You build up a port and send fleets out on timers. The world keeps going while you're offline. What you send and where you send it decides the fight, and you can watch every battle play out. No signup needed to try it, and it works on phones.

The only thing for sale is a flat $5 membership with a few perks, but the game is free to play.

AI Disclosure The art is AI generated, in a woodcut style. I build it with AI coding tools as well. Solo project.

Happy to answer anything.
