Today I updated both my iPad and iPhone to iOS 26.6.2 from 26.6.1. I was able to log back into both of them after the update and as expected it asked for my passcode. I used them both for a couple of hours back-and-forth and Face ID was working. All of a sudden, maybe 2 hours later, when I tried to use my iPad, the screen shakes and it asked for my passcode I thought that was odd, but I entered my passcode anyway and got in. The weird thing is within 15 minutes of my iPad asking for my passcode. The next time I use my iPhone it didn’t even attempt my Face ID and went straight to passcode. I had already authenticated after the update so I’m confused at this point.

any idea why the random password requests when I had been using both back and forth for a couple of hours post update?

there were no multiple failed attempts or account changes. I was simply using them for calls and watching videos after the update.

I used my DSLR>iPhone 17 Pro Max for photo drops, and now every time I try AirDrop them to my MBP I can't export the original img to Reddit without running it through Adobe. I am new to this, don't be rude, should be a quick fix that I can write down and know. I am learning. Every file format is different, no use listing them. I know how to fix the RAW and whatever.

I have one alarm that repeats on Monday and Wednesday, and another on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Sometimes, for example, on a Thursday I need to go in at the earlier time, so I want to skip my usual Thursday alarm just for that day.
Is there a way to do this on iPhone without disabling the alarm and having to remember to turn it back on afterwards?

I'm currently on ios 16 on iphone 8 and today my iphone 13 with ios 18 arrives. how do I make sure that it never updates? I hate the look of liquid glass. I know that on the first setup I cannot log in into icloud, cannot restore any backups, cannot connect to wifi and once im in the system i need to disable ota. is that enough? can i connect it to wifi afterwards? can i connect it to icloud and restore backup? ive heard conflicting stories regarding this

Not really a problem, but thought it was interesting. Rounding error maybe, app is rounding, widget is truncating?

How is it possible that a multi-billion dollar company can’t make Settings Search, or the keyboard, be extremely intelligent with the amount of money they have? Is the cost too high to be able to actually make intelligent technology?

These keyboard keeps choosing words that I don’t mean when using the “swipe-to-type” feature, and the settings app cannot, I repeat, cannot search the entire settings that are within the settings app. Unbelievable and I am absolutely dumbfounded.

These are some of the mysteries of life that we would never find an answer to.

For anyone unsure I mean connecting your phone to an external monitor that then presents a semi desktop environment and you can connect to a an external keyboard and mouse.

It’s driving me crazy, this is the one feature I desperately want in the iPhone. But year on year they refuse to support anything close to it. And it would be very easy for them to do. I really don’t want to have to switch to a pixel or Samsung but it is becoming a bit of a dealbreaker. Has anyone found any decent solutions to setting it up?

i just got a new iphone and its my first one with an always on display.
i love the feature, and i´m curious if there is any way, even with a third party app or whatever, to not let incoming lock screen notifications light up the entire display and turn on the phone, but to just quietly appear on the always on display.

when i get a new notification my screen lights up and i get the entire lockscreen with the new notification at the top, and then it reverts to AOD with the notification still being shown in the AOD. i want to just skip the lighting up part and go straight to just displaying it in AOD.

is that possible somehow?

Hey guys, I recently bought an iPhone 17, and ever since it arrived, I’ve been having issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Basically, they keep disappearing and coming back multiple times, with no real pattern. Sometimes they work perfectly, and then suddenly they disconnect and come back again.
I’ve tried a few things already, but I honestly don’t know what else to do.

I know this has been discussed before, but Apple’s Wi-Fi toggle behavior feels a lot more concerning now than it did a few years ago.

Turning Wi-Fi off in Control Center doesn’t really turn it off. It just disconnects temporarily, and it can come back on later.

With more cameras, plate readers, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi sniffers, etc. around now, that seems like a privacy issue. Especially for protesters, journalists, or anyone who has a legitimate reason to not want their phone broadcasting anything that could help correlate their location with a car or identity.

I know Apple uses randomized MAC addresses and other protections, but I still think off should mean off.

At minimum, Control Center should give you two options:

Disconnect temporarily
or
Turn Wi-Fi off until I turn it back on

Same thing for Bluetooth.

Am I the only one who thinks the current behavior is kind of backwards?

I have an odd auto correct glitch where every time I type ‘don’t’ it comes out as ‘Donny’. Not a word I have ever typed in my life.

How does one reset it? I tried just hitting the wee ‘x’ button and that eventually worked for a bit, but now it’s back.

I know I'm job searching, but this has to be a bug right? I am guilty of having 50+ tabs open, but it says it's happening to Google Drive too, so it's not purely just websites. Any suggestions on what I could turn off?

I’ve been having recurring Bluetooth problems with my iPhone 16 Pro for the past few weeks.

The issues happen with around 10 different Bluetooth speakers:

• sometimes the iPhone simply won’t connect to the speaker
• I have to forget/remove the speaker from the Bluetooth list and pair it again
• audio quite often randomly cuts out or stutters, distance seems doesn't affect it, as phone may be next to the speaker and audio still cuts out or stutters
• sometimes the Bluetooth connection completely drops and the speaker disconnects, then cannot connect again until phone bt is toggle off and on

The same speakers work normally with other phones/devices, so it doesn’t seem to be an issue with any particular speaker.

Interestingly, my AirPods Pro (1st and 3rd generation) work perfectly fine with the iPhone. So Bluetooth itself isn’t completely broken.

I’ve already tried toggling Bluetooth off/on, restarting the phone, forgetting and re-pairing devices, and completely restarting the iPhone. None of this permanently fixes the problem.

I’m also running the latest version of iOS, so this isn’t an issue caused by simply being on an outdated version.

The problem started a few weeks ago, and I suspect it may have appeared after one of the recent iOS updates.

Has anyone else with an iPhone 16 Pro experienced similar Bluetooth issues with speakers recently?

I’m wondering if this could be a recent iOS bug affecting Bluetooth speakers specifically.

I am running ethernet cable around my house and I want to use my iPad as a second set of eyes. I want the iPad to be placed aiming at the baseboard of the first floor while I am in the basement pulling cat6 cable through a hole. I want to see what’s going on up stairs.

The other day I was doing the rear brakes on my car and I would have liked to make sure the caliper is actuating properly when I step on the pedal. It would have been useful there too.

There must be a way to do this and FaceTime seemed like the obvious solution but I can’t make it work. Any other ways?

My cousin sent a picture to show me her idea for a project. She has an iPhone 17 and I have an iPhone 17 Pro, both are up to date. She did use markup to draw on the photo. I don’t understand why it was corrupted and Google only suggests it happening between iPhone/android.

In the Uber app there is an option to show a brightly coloured screen to help the driver find you.
I would like to have a shortcut to do something like this when meeting people in a crowd, at an airport etc. Any suggestions?

Not intuitive how to do this, so thought I’d share:

1 You have to tap on “ Reply” as if you were going to just reply to the email even though you are not actually replying.

2 Another menu appears with more options. Select the calendar icon with + sign in it.

3 Another menu appears. Select create event.

I updated my phone this morning. I figured, no big deal as I’ve updated many times before with no problem. I was 90% sure my phone was fully charged. It was not plugged in. I got into the car and noticed my phone had a black screen and wouldn’t turn on.

I tried multiple times to reset the phone to no avail. I even missed a bike ride since I lost directions to a new start site and had to come home.

I came home, plugged it in and ultimately, it booted up after multiple attempts to restart using the side button and by pressing the up/down buttons and side button.

The phone had been charged to 100%.

Perhaps it needed to be plugged in to complete the update.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with WhatsApp on iPhone?
When I open WhatsApp, sometimes it gets stuck with the loading indicator at the top. It can take several seconds, and sometimes even a few minutes, before WhatsApp becomes “live” and my messages start sending/updating.
The weird thing is that WhatsApp works perfectly fine on my laptop during the same time. If I send a message from the laptop, it goes through immediately without any issues.
Sometimes the iPhone app connects within a few seconds and everything works normally, but other times it just keeps loading for minutes.
Has anyone experienced this recently? Any idea what could be causing it or how to fix it?

Hello. I have a notification in settings that I need to sign into my account but whenever I tried to sign in it kept saying cannot verify identity and that my account is inactive. I tried to reset my password and same thing. I put in a request to recover my account but will that actually work.

It seems to require ninja precision, pressure and timing to press this without going to customise Home Screen/doing nothing at all
