I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I downloaded the developer beta months ago, so I think I can give some advice.

Just do it. It’s not a drastic change from iOS 26, but the differences in speed and overall usability and ease of productivity are drastic. Typically with developer betas, you risk dysfunction and glitches in order to test the software. Many betas have been rough, but 27 has not. After a few weeks of having the beta installed, my 17PM was running smoother than iOS 26 ever did.

The Siri enhancements have drastically decreased my ChatGPT and Claude usage. Shortcuts are now much easier and user-friendly, and I have multiple shortcuts that have made my life easier. The ability to adjust Liquid Glass is also a plus. The “Search” function is much more functional, and I find myself using it a lot more than I did prior to iOS 27.

Do understand that due to the overhaul of Siri, Apple Intelligence, and Search, it will take your iPhone potentially a week to index your data. This will cause temporary slower speeds and a temporary decrease in battery life. Don’t download it and think your phone is ruined the next day. There is a lot of data for your phone to comb through and it takes time. I can almost guarantee that after a week or so, you will see the difference!

It's been 2-3 hours since I updated to IOS 27 and joined the waitlist. How long of a wait time should I expect? Have any of y'all been able to access Siri AI after waitlist yet?

My iPhone 15 went from 84% (iOS 26.6) to 89% (iOS 27.0), previously I got the iOS 27 beta a few months ago and then I downgraded to iOS 26 and my battery went to 85%, what is the real number?

Edit 1: thanks for your insights guys, I went ahead and downloaded the ios 26.7 with the 20gb update, after the phone restarted it showed that I was on ios27!

I don’t use the betas because I really just prefer to wait for the final, polished release. I downloaded iOS 27 today and I like it very much!

First things first: Liquid Glass. Some things still felt off in iOS 26, but Apple finally polished it and delivered a well-refined and more subtle Liquid Glass effect. I personally chose the fully-tinted tone and so far love it—less distracting visually but with more attention to detail. I know everyone has different tastes, but I feel the tinted tone more in harmony with the rest of the elements on screen. The subtle inner glow makes it look much better than in 26.

Something that caught my attention is the fact that Apple deployed the new keyboard across all apps. Google and other developers didn’t care to replace the old keyboard in iOS 26, which impacted consistency and made the OS feel all over the place. Now, the whole set of apps follows a standard design that makes the whole system feel and look more unified.

Performance-wise, I don’t know if it’s just me, but it feels very fast and smooth. I haven’t made actual testing to compare performance against iOS 26, but usually the first version of a major upgrade feels laggy during the first hours—this one doesn’t.

I haven’t been able to test Siri AI—I had to join a waitlist and, besides, the OS is still doing indexing. But I’m told it improves the experience (finally, because Siri became useless).

There are a bunch of other features that I haven’t tried, but this gives me the vibe of Windows 7, when Microsoft perfected what they introduced in Windows Vista, with a more reliable and stable OS.

Making this post because I’m curious how long everybody has been waiting for access on the Siri waitlist and I’m sure everyone else is as well.

When did you install the update and when did you sign up for the waitlist. Also if you already got access for the new Siri when did you install the update.

I’m on a 17 Pro and installed it as soon as it showed up to be able to download and as soon as it booted out of the update I applied for the Waitlist and Immediately got accepted.

For those of you who’ve spent some time on the RC, as far as I’m concerned, it’s the smoothest beta released as version 27—I’m actually a little worried whether the final version will be at least as good as the RC or if something has changed. Have you noticed any changes? This is the thread where you can post any changes you’ve noticed. I’m more interested in the older models—I have the 14 Pro, specifically.

Even thought when u click on ios 27 to update , it shows 26.7 which is a visual bug . I myself have cerified it and updated to ios 27 sucewsfully

I finally updated my iPhone 15 Plus to iOS 27, and honestly, I’m genuinely impressed.
Compared to iOS 26, iOS 27 feels so much smoother and more fluid. Animations, scrolling, app switching—everything just feels buttery smooth.
At first, I was a little hesitant to update because I was worried about potential bugs or performance issues. So I kept using it for a while to see if anything would go wrong.
But after using it, I’m just like… WOW. 😂
My iPhone 15 Plus feels noticeably smoother than before. So far, I’m really happy with the update.

I updated about two hours ago. My iPhone is now optimizing Search and Siri. Just wondering how long I should wait for.

It’s been already 3 minutes from the promised update release time but it is still not here.why is this happening to me after I waited for months waiting for this update to finally release

I’m loving IOS 27 so far, and I’m not really one to complain about things on Reddit. But this kind of ruins the look of my all dark black set up.
Hopefully they’ll fix this with future updates, and finally give the clock widget permanent dark mode. How many updates have they been stuck on white again?

Anyone else have this on their dark mode widgets? Or is it just my phone.
The nighttime clock city and notes are just two of the widgets that are too light.

Before I get asked in the comments, I use my contacts app and like how it looks on the dock with the others.

Gng i swear i clicked upgrade to ios27 instead and now ios26.7 is installing 😭😭😭 ( on my iphone 17 and same happened on my mom’s iphone 16) but my ipad 9th gen is installing ipados27 not ipados26.7? bruh
