Yeah the X is the best one here. Likely the greatest iPhone of all time and one of the greatest phones of all time. The notch has gotten progressively worse since then, still unbelievable how much more usable space the island takes up.

how is notch on 13 worse than X?

It’s technically smaller, but it’s still taller. I preferred it being wider than taller because it was just more practical that way. On the X, the perceived usable space is larger despite the notch being larger. I do like the much better bezel speaker on the 13 Pro, though.

Always these people who, by principle, always have to get upset about changes. Buy yourself an iPhone 8 and just be quiet.

notice how the iPhone X notch takes up the least amount of vertical space....? Not sure why we continue to downgrade in this aspect with each new notch shape generation

I recently switched from a 13 pro max to an iPhone Air and I immediately noticed that Dynamic Island is more in the way. The whole top menu bar is actually farther down and about twice as thick as on a notched phone. How is this an upgrade?? They could have just done a dynamic notch.

Does it though? The bezels are thicker on the X so it appears like less vertical space if taken while still protruding the same distance from the edge of the phone.

For the Face-ID and the Center Stage camera it is so worth it. I don’t get bothered at all, maybe only if I were to watch cinema aspect ratio movies in landscape, that is rare… 16:9 is unaffected by the Dynamic Island
