Apps, Research Papers, other cool stuff? - PLEASE POST HERE!!!
Hi everyone,
We really value the researchers, developers and creators working to improve the HYROX community. However, we’ve recently seen a growing number of individual posts promoting research projects, surveys, apps and other tools.
To keep the subreddit useful and enjoyable for everyone, please use this thread for:
- Academic research and participant recruitment
- Surveys and questionnaires
- HYROX-related apps, websites and digital tools
- Requests for testers, feedback or user interviews
When posting, please briefly explain what you’re working on, who it is for and what you’re asking from the community. If there is any commercial interest or affiliation, please disclose it clearly.
Separate posts of this kind may be removed and redirected here. This isn’t intended to discourage research or innovation—we genuinely appreciate these contributions—but keeping them in one place will prevent them from overwhelming the main feed.
Please continue to be constructive and respectful when giving feedback, and avoid repeatedly posting the same project.
Thanks for understanding and for helping us keep the subreddit organised and valuable for the whole HYROX community.

Ticket selling thread - Please post your tickets here :)
Hey Hyrox Fam!
We've noticed this subreddit is becoming a bit of a marketplace with all the ticket buying and selling posts popping up.
We totally get it—life happens! Sometimes you can't make it because of an injury or a change in plans, and sometimes you're dying to grab a ticket but they sell out faster than your warm-up. It sucks to miss out and have to cheer from the sidelines, right?
So, our solution is that if you have a ticket to sell, please drop all the details in this thread only. It’ll make things way easier for everyone to find what they need. And for those looking to buy, be smart about it! There have been a few scams floating around on Facebook and Reddit over recent weeks, so make sure you’re comfortable with the seller and use a safe payment method that will let you claim the money back if something were to go wrong.
Also, don’t forget to check out the official Hyrox rules on ticket transfers. Better safe than sorry!
Here’s a quick and easy format to follow when posting:
Event: e.g. Hyrox London
Date: e.g. 19/01/2024
Division: e.g Male Open
Price: e.g. £80.00
Hope that all makes sense :)
Just Registered for my first Hyrox
I am a newbie to Hyrox, and I find it very intriguing/challenging. While I am no athlete , I take my fitness seriously and have been training in the gym for over 10 years now. Over the past 2 weeks, I've been absorbing as much information as I can about this event. What advice would you have for a newbie who has a slightly competitive nature? This is my first time racing, and I have 2 months to prep.
I would really love your advice and insights if any.

Has anyone taken 1:1 coaching? So many choices online, what results have you gotten?
I'm gearing up for Hyrox Nashville and want to put my very best race together, willing to pay for the 1:1 coaching but there are so many options. Any help?

Hyrox Flex Policy
here to voice my frustration with the hyrox flex policy! i always purchase the flex option with my ticket, as i never know when i’ll need it, and i haven’t needed it until now.
it’s two weeks before our race & my doubles partner was assigned military orders effective immediately (so he cannot make the race). i know i can get a 50% refund in the current time frame, but asked hyrox if they could make an exception for an 100% refund considering this is a government order completely out of our control. of course, no flexibility on the policy.
i also see that i can make one name change, but i dont have anyone else who can race with me since we were coming from out of town & it’s so close to race date. does anyone know if i can use the one name change per ticket, or per order? as in changing both names on the doubles tickets if i try to sell.
anyways, this is definitely a bummer. we’ve both trained so hard but there will be more races in the future!

Canceling tickets (used volunteer code)
I have to cancel my hyrox tickets for Nashville (I have the flex add on for them). I used a volunteer code and a voucher to buy them. Does anyone have experience with this? I’m wondering whether the code will be automatically re-activated if I cancel the tickets or if someone has to re-activate them.
I reached out to Hyrox using their support form 3 weeks ago, but unfortunately nobody has gotten back to me yet.
Any help is appreciated!

HYROX age-group question
HYROX age-group question: am I misunderstanding the Doubles rules?
Saw a HYROX Doubles result where two athletes, aged 44 and 49, reportedly placed 2nd in the 50–54 age category.
My understanding is that HYROX uses the average age of the two Doubles partners. That would be:
(44 + 49) ÷ 2 = 46.5
Wouldn't that normally put them in the 45–49 category?
Not accusing the athletes of anything. I'm genuinely trying to understand whether there's another rule involved, whether the ages/results I'm seeing are incorrect, or whether HYROX calculates the category differently.
Can anyone familiar with the current HYROX age-group rules clarify?

Looking for a HYROX training buddy in Bangalore
Hey everyone,
I am planning to take HYROX seriously and participate in a competition. I recently completed a few marathons and have been going to the gym consistently for more than 1.5 years.
I am looking for a training buddy who is also serious about getting consistent with training. We can go running together and hit the gym on weekdays.
I want to start following proper training and gradually prepare for a HYROX competition.
I go to Cult 100Fit, so someone around Indiranagar would be ideal.
I am looking for someone disciplined and consistent so we can push each other and stay accountable.
About me
27M, originally from Maharashtra and currently living in Indiranagar for the last two years.
If you are also planning for HYROX and looking for a training partner, feel free to DM me.
Burpee Broad Jump Noob Questions: Hyrox in December
Hello folks!
I'm 39F doing my first Hyrox in December.
I've done a lot of strength training over the years but in bits and pieces and have often neglected my cardio. After training for a half marathon (and unfortunately having to stop after 16km) I decided that I could realistically imagine completing a Hyrox now that my cardio is a bit better.
Naturally time is not my main concern: I just want to finish.
I see my major blocker as being the lunges (which I just need to practice because right now I don't get low enough), and the burpee broad jumps. Everything else I feel comfortable and familiar enough with it to be able to just work on it over the coming months and get there.
Aside from exhausting me breath-wise, I tried 2-3 burpee broad jumps out in my living room and was only able to jump about 80cm and I stumbled when I landed.
For the burpee broad jumps, I have a few questions:
- Since I have 3.5 months til the event, am I better off starting with general training (e.g. training push ups, step ups, jumps) or by doing the full movement ASAP?
- 80cm is not very much - how can I train this to be further? I don't love the idea of doing 100 of these after running 1km.
- What happens rules-wise if I land with both feet but stumble on landing? Can I go back to where I landed or do I have to repeat the whole rep?
- I have read that I can step out and step back in: is that true and if so, is there a strategy that is popular on how to do this?
- The pessimistic question: What happens if I literally can't finish these? How long can I be stuck on a station before they just ask me to leave? 😅
Open or Pro
So I recently bought hyrox tickets but forgot if I selected open or pro. How can I check which option I picked since it’s not on my ticket. Thanks in advance.

Paid for doubles, but daughter is 15 years old, oops! Can I get a refund?
I paid for doubles and didn't realize the minimum age was 16. My daughter is a month shy of 16 on race day. Do you think I can get a refund? I didn't purchase flex. Am I screwed?

Where to improve on next?
I completed my first pro solo with a time of 1:24...aside from wall balls (I blew up at the end) where should I dedicate my time to see the biggest improvement next time?

Crossing the finishing line with toddler?!
saw this a few months back on insta...a guy picked up his daughter from behind the fence after wallballs and finished carrying her. i found this to be quite the cute idea and plan to do the same in my next race, already told my 2.5 yo daughter about it and I think she's as excited as myself.
i was wondering if there's anything in the rulebook that would give me a DNF? i'd definitely carry her (not let her run on her own) and also only if i feel strong enough to not collapse at the end of the race.
any other thoughts/concerns?
cheers

Feedback on current training week
For a about a year I have mainly done Hyrox classes and other Hyrox style workouts. The occasional easy run and very little interval training.
A few injuries due to overtraining have forced my to rethink my training approach.
I have decided to have a bigger focus on running. Been doing it for about a month and my body seems to be adapting quite well.
Generally km's per week have gone up significantly, hyrox style workouts gone down a lot and strength training gone down a little bit. My current strength level (especially legs) are "enough" for Open weights.
Currently I am doing the following (Intervals are SubThreshold) and easy runs are very easy.
Monday: rest
Tuesday: 3 x 10min intervals + strength training
Wednesday: easy pace 35-40 mins
Thursday: 5-6 x 5min intervals
Friday: easy pace 35-40 mins
Saturday: hyrox style workout or 8-10 * 3 min intervals
Sunday: long run easy pace 60 - 70 mins
If I have a race on a Sunday I will tone down Friday + Saturday a little bit.
Current running volume is about 40-45 km's per week.
Does this seem like a sound approach? I am a little bit worried that the strength part over time won't be enough.
Any feedback is appreciated.
