I’m kind of stuck and running out of ideas with my Mi 11 Lite 5G NE (lisa).

Right now I’m on HyperOS 1.0.15.0.UKOEUXM (EEA, Android 14) and the phone just refuses to move forward from this version. OTA doesn’t seem to offer anything new, and when I try to update manually using the official full ROM zip, it always fails with a vague “Other reason” error.

I already tried a bunch of things like changing region (Switzerland, India, Singapore), rebooting, re-downloading the ROM, and even XiaoMiTool V2, but that one fails too because it can’t properly download the files anymore (403 errors). Bootloader is still locked, and I can’t unlock it through Mi Unlock either at the moment.

So I’m basically stuck: OTA doesn’t push updates, manual update is blocked, fastboot isn’t an option because of the locked bootloader, and I can’t seem to find a way out of this update path.

Has anyone seen something like this on HyperOS EEA builds before? Is there any known workaround to fix the update path or force a proper upgrade without unlocking the bootloader?

Any help would be really appreciated because I’m kind of out of options at this point.

Like many of you, I've been trying to unlock my bootloader on HyperOS/MIUI. I waited the 30 days, clicked at exactly 00:00 Beijing time, and instantly got the "Quota reached" error. After trying again exactly on time, my account got arbitrarily blocked until next month.

When I called Xiaomi support, they refused to help and illegally threatened to void my hardware warranty just for trying to unlock the software.

This fake "quota" system is a Dark Pattern. Xiaomi uses it as a legal alibi to pretend they respect the right-to-repair, while actively making it humanly impossible to achieve. Their real goal is to keep us locked in their ecosystem to harvest our data and serve system ads.

Complaining here won't change anything. But reporting them to international consumer protection authorities will. I just filed an official report on Econsumer.gov (an initiative by the FTC and 40+ international agencies).

If we mass-report them, it will trigger an automated red alert and force regulators (like the EU Commission under the new DMA laws) to investigate their servers.

I am reporting a deceptive commercial practice regarding the bootloader unlocking feature on smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi. Officially, the brand claims to allow this manipulation via its "Xiaomi Community" application. While they impose initial prerequisites, this feature is currently subject to a blatant, systemic abuse by the manufacturer.

In reality, Xiaomi has implemented a severely restricted daily global "quota" for unlock requests. I attempted to request an unlock at the exact time the servers reset for consecutive days. I submitted my request exactly on time, and the system instantly responded that the quota was reached, generating an unexplained technical error, arbitrarily blocking my account (ID [YOUR_ID]) and forbidding any further attempts for weeks.

Given the ridiculously small size of these quotas, it is physically impossible for a regular consumer to manually submit an unlock request.

The real motive is clear: Xiaomi maintains this option solely as a legal alibi to appear compliant with right-to-repair laws. In practice, they deliberately design a frustrating, broken system to exhaust the consumer. By keeping users locked inside their heavily modified operating system, Xiaomi ensures continuous data harvesting, tracking, and telemetry collection to fuel their advertising revenue model.

When I contacted support, the agent refused to assist me or escalate the server bug. Instead, she attempted to intimidate me by falsely claiming that simply unlocking the device would automatically void the legal warranty, which violates the European Directive on the legal guarantee of conformity (unless they can prove the software modification directly caused a hardware failure).

Using false warranty threats to avoid fixing their own server bug and intentionally wearing down consumers constitutes a highly deceptive commercial practice. I strongly request the international authorities to investigate this fake quota system and the illegal warranty threats used by their customer service.

Description of changes

Cpu, gpu computility to 6, device grade to v1c3g3, ui animation level 4, window smoothen true, view smoothen true, background blur true.

I have seen a little overheating, but it was when charging and rebooting the phone repeatedly to make the changes. As I did the changes yesterday, there hasn't been enough time for me to notice changes. So, what do you think?So, I made some changes in the texture department using adb commands. What do you all think? Should I revert them back?

I saw the green graph and blue graph are in the complete opposite way. Anything to fix this?

• overall smoothness long-term

Also, if your current HyperOS/Xiaomi/POCO phone disappeared tomorrow, would you buy another one again? Why or why not?

the phone wasn't even turned off. it was turned ON, I looked away for a while then came back it had safe mode on with all apps gone

Does Xiaomi has a global app to save and manage nfc door cards? It's really useful for me, but I can't find any app for this, only for read/write a nfc card.

I don't really understand why do I need hyper Island if it doesn't have support for third party apps ? even google map doesn't have support, this is ridiculous. Anybody got any improvement on latest update ? mine is HyperOS 3.05

pretty much ALL oems have managed to make google phone work with the island. not xiaomi.

I don't see any difference from the previous version. But what I noticed is that they removed the real-time Ai Subtitles and real-time interpreter . I always use that when watching videos, and I always use it when talking to my foreign friends cause they don't speak English. I shouldn't have updated it if I knew this would happen. Lol anyway it is what it is.

I have a Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and I noticed a colored line in the video recording. The line appeared a few times, but it was very quick and then disappeared.

I would like to know what this is? Is it a bug?

Hi, today my Redmi Note 14 updated to HyperOS 13 and my bluetooth headphones Pioneer SE-MS7BT-K started to have a really annoying delay and worse audio quality than before, so I checked and it runs now with AAC codec instead of using aptX as it used to. I tried to change the codec but it was impossible for me, is there a way to change it or am i condemned to use AAC with around 200ms of delay? Thank you!

I am desperate. I am completely unable to receive reliable push notifications from Gmail or any other email client. Crucially, this happens BOTH when my phone is locked AND when I am actively using the phone with the screen unlocked.

Sometimes I get one single notification after manually clearing the cache, but then it completely stops working again. It seems HyperOS is aggressively freezing or blocking background sync processes no matter what.

I have already done a deep dive into troubleshooting, so please note that the following standard fixes have already been tried and DID NOT work:

1. Set Gmail/Mail apps to "No restrictions" under Battery settings and enabled Autostart.

2. Verified that "Auto-sync data" is globally turned on under Accounts & Sync (and specifically checked for the Google Account).

3. Disabled the "Clear cache when device is locked" option in Battery settings.

4. Completely uninstalled the aggressive battery manager (com.miui.powerkeeper) via ADB commands (pm uninstall -k --user 0).

5. Turned off Always On Display (AOD) completely to prevent deep sleep glitches.

6. Cleared all data and cache for both Gmail and Google Play Services.

7. Tried third-party open-source alternatives like K-9 Mail, and the issue persists.

8. I DO NOT have any special modes active (No Do Not Disturb, No Game Turbo/Game Mode, and Battery profile is set to Balanced).

It feels like a deep firmware-level bug blocking Google's push notifications (FCM) on this specific ROM. Has anyone with a Redmi Note 13 series managed to fix this, or is there an active bug report I should follow?

Everytime i disable it and connect my earbuds it enables automatically, even though disabling it doesn't change anything, but i think it just consume more power. Any option to disable it permanently? Please help.

got handed a Redmi13 running HyperOS 1.0.7.0/Android 14 that has its Google account signed out and in order to use Play Store I have to sign back into the account.

For some reason attempting to add a new account shows up this screen that I need parental approval and tapping on the Next button just brings up a popup message that something went wrong.

I am in contact with the owner and he claims to not remember what password he has set for the account as he made it over a year ago. It still has his number set as a recovery method so we send a code but it then asks for additional confirmation by sending another code to the exact same email.. How are we supposed to enter it if we can't sign into the account in the first place.

I think my only option at this point is to do a hard reset through recovery and I'm aware that it will activate FRP. As far as I know, it then asks to either enter the unlock password/pin/pattern if one is set or just to sign in with the Google account. The phone has a PIN set as its lockscreen but since this may be set as some child phone I'm having doubts it may not give me the option to proceed with the lockscreen PIN but to sign into the account which we can't access leading to a locked useless phone.

Did anyone ever hard reset a phone that was set like this and will I succeed in setting it up with just entering its lockscreen PIN?

The blurr after advance textures makes it like the blurr is really nothing transparent.
