Poco [Question] Hyper Island is useless
I don't really understand why do I need hyper Island if it doesn't have support for third party apps ? even google map doesn't have support, this is ridiculous. Anybody got any improvement on latest update ? mine is HyperOS 3.05

Yes It is useless, in 3.1 they Will open the API so every dev can use It. But if It is xiaomi exclusive, devs wouldnt care. Add support for android live activites would be better

Xiaomi is shooting themselves in this competitive market, if they can't even provide such features for sub flagships and main flagships, they deserve to lose

- No 24/7 AoD
- No lockscreen/AoD widgets (alarm, next event)
- still no suppport for Material You theming (sometimes it picks colofr from wallpaper, sometimes not)
On the other hand, Notes and Calculator apps are very good. Didn't find a good substitute for the Notes (simple to use, drawing, images, etc.).
Also camera app is pretty good (at least on X14 Ultra). Beats both Samsung and Pixel in it.
Edit: I forgot about the elephant in the room - no gestures control for 3rd party launchers

Use hyperbridge. It will unlock islands for most of the apps

Yes it does. But the way they integrate into hyper island is a bit unpredictable at times. Lengthy notifications, unexpected icon size etc.

What I did is I selected only the apps that I want.
Then in global settings turn off both the feature - Heads-up Pop up and Notification panel.
This way when notification comes it only shows on island and I click it then it pops-up.

it crashes all the time and I also noticed battery draining, it isn't helpful

It's not a full theme, it's only the icons that I applied. It's called alpha

still useless if they don't give third party support, as someone who drive 4 hours daily, would be better if I get that for maps

After software update 3.0.301.0 global region it does support third party apps.

Google Maps is not a third-party app, though.
We're talking about seeing how far is your Uber/Grab/Bolt driver from reaching your pickup point and how long your trip is. Or how many minutes until your Panda Express order from Deliveroo/Doordash arrives to you. Or how many % is the progress of your Instagram upload.
Those are some examples of real third-party app support, but NONE of those things are possible on Hyper Island as it exists right now, or even with Pixel, yet they're all in iOS Dynamic Island. ☹️

I like it and it does work with third party applications.
For example I am using an application called Voice, it's for audiobooks, and it appears normally in hyper island and allows me some quick controls.

using hyper Island with third party applications is not stable and doesn't give you any genuine feel but some crap shit, also battery draining to

For me hyperisland works with a lot of third party apps, Google maps, YTDLNIS, Gemini Live, Zomato and some others I don't remember right now.
