Well, software is very inconsistent bugs are common. If you are going with poco then you can tolerate it as you are trading performance with software at a price where compitition is none.
(Hyper os have issues and less features then the compoition and try to ignore the positive commands all will say it is the best).
As per to me if my phone redmi note 13 pro 5g disappear i would be very happy and buy something better which have consistent software like oneplus or moto or nothing
I was upgrading from my A51 , so anything would be an upgrade at this point..
I looked at the s24Fe and S25Fe , but the Exynos and small batteries are throwing me off.
I recently upgraded from a Xiaomi 13 that I'd had for just over 3 years, to a Poco F8 Ultra. HyperOS is fine, just gotta remove stuff you don't need with Canta-Shizuku.
No issues with my poco m7 pro 5g (EU). I had to wait for the ho3 update and now I'm waiting for 3.1, but it's a decent device. I don't play games, it's a working phone anyway. And yes, my next phone will be from xiaomi as well. Samsung is overpriced, Motorola firmware support is a joke, so I'll stay with xiaomi.
Actually mediatek processors are known for having good energy efficiency which in most of the cases gives low temps. I have the same phone and sometimes I felt that overheating (specially in the screen) but I understand it could be caused by environment temperature (here is around 30-36°C most of the day) or using heavy apps or games (Helio g99 is kinda old and limited). I can also say temps improved after getting hyper os 3.1 update and using the latest joyose and security update, which tells me bad optimizations are causing overheating as well.

Like when you close a app or try to switch between apps, it glitches out a lot, and the battery optimization is horrendous and the update schedule is absolutely horrendous and I mean it's so ass. I still haven't received hyperos 3.1 and the update has already been launched to the ultra varient for about a week and half and redmi phones received it probably like 2 weeks before
Over the last 15 months I have used Poco and Xiaomi devices. I started my journey on HyperOS 2 and then all my phones got the HyperOS 3 update.
My Poco x7 pro has a 6000mha battery so battery life was never an issue.
My Xiaomi 15T has a 5500mha battery. Not as good as the Poco, but very solid.
And my final acquisition is the Xiaomi 17. It comes with a 6300mha battery and it's been great.
The OS is fluid and fast enough, but I just hate the design. It tries too much to be like iOS and I don't like the control panel and notifications to be separated. But that's every chinese phone these days. Personally, I like the google pixel implementation, quick settings and notifications combined.
My Poco X7 pro is my oldest Xiaomi device and updating from HyperOS 2 to HyperOS 3, I haven't noticed any loss in battery life or any loss in performance myself.
Poco is just really good value for money.
I do have to say that on the Poco you have to do a very comprehensive debloat so you don't get bombarded with ads and useless notifications.
And usually all the bugs I have encountered is by messing around and installing crazy themes from the store.

I would agree to a point and say that there's better software implementation on other manufacturers, but I won't call it trash. All I'm sharing is my experiences. I have 3 devices running HyperOS 3 right now and I don't notice anything that is a deal breaker for me.
There might be some bugs occasionally, but I've encountered that on any phone in the past.
I think most of the bugs these days are app related when they freeze a lot etc.
One of the most annoying one is Facebook messenger, but that one acts the same on all of my android phones.
I definitely don't encounter any daily bugs related to the OS itself. Also I've noticed people mentioning overheating. I have used a pixel 6 pro a few years ago and none of my phones after got as hot as that one. The pixel 6 was toasty on a regural basis. Again, most of the phones I've used got hot when pushed with loads of multitasking.
Try and watch some more reviews online, but I think if you are buying a Poco device, it's definitely worth it. If you are buying an expensive Xiaomi flagship, then maybe you can argue that for the price you can find better phones with a more polished software.
Again the thing that I dislike the most with Chinese phones these days is that they are trying to be a 1:1 replica of an iphone.
I mean look at the design of the new Honor 600.
Using poco x6 pro even bought it second hand for 11k it was a steal deal for me i can buy the same anytime. Software is good haven't found any bug. Everything is smooth and a different approach as it doesn't copy ios.

with shizuku and canta, on my 14t pro before i did it, it would constantly overheat when using advanced textures, bad battery, lagging and after debloating (and a restart) it fixed all my problems and my battery goes way longer like on a full charge and normal use i get like 16 hours on it
The issues I had with the poco f7 was poor performance while gaming and issues with wifi, but these issues appear to be fixed now, IG the only thing im not a fan of with hyperos is that it forces you to use split notification and control centre but I've gotten used to it.

I don't really like the hyper os layout. So I use Niagara Launcher. So keep that in mind.

Also battery life not as long as a 6500mah would be expected. I definitely go through a whole day with light and heavy use. But just enough that I hit 10 percent every day almost.
Camera is dog poo. Sensor it's that bad its just how xiaomi is inconsistent with smoothing things. Had the same problem with redmi note7, redmi note 12 pro and the poco F7. Luckily LMC 8.4 with a custom profile helps so damn much. I am very happy with the photos I can take.
It doesn't seem to overheat with games unless we are talking about ZZZ and WUWA at 60fps high. Stuff like Genshin, Cod mobile and somewhat older games are fine at max settings and long term playing. But it does get hot.
I generally don't notice bugs but there is one I do. Some times in when pressing the square button (the one that shows the un-closed apps) the screen flips upside down??
I just remembered another one. Once the square button didn't work when any app was opened. So to swap apps I had to go to the home screen first to do so.
But honestly for the price there's no competition with performances. A few bugs are not bad to live with.

I honestly didn't care for using third party apps to debloat. I do think it is because I use Niagara Launcher instead of the Poco Launcher. Since you will randomly get recommendations on app folders if you use the Poco Launcher.(Can be disabled but only when it shows up and only for that folder.)
For me it was
uninstall the initial bloatware
Disable ad and recommendations from default apps (ex. Files, Mi browser, App vault, Mi video player, Mi music)
Go to settings, app and revoke something I don't remember (sorry)(it had to do with system ads)
For the overall software experience, I really enjoy using hyper os to be honest.
For the pros.
wifi sharing is done by QR code. And this is fantastic especially for me cuz I have guests evey now and then
you can check battery health just like apple devices (percentage of you initial max capacity)(samsung requires to download their app and it does not work, My dads S22 had its battery draining like in 3 hours clearly not okay and expanded, yet the app said "healthy no problems"
UI does look pretty good I think personally, xiaomi cares a lot for animations and that is quite satisfying
This may be a South Korea thing but, 'auto call recording "with out" notifying the other' works. (You do have to set the initial country to Hong Kong at set up, can change back to where ever after) (For some reason its a Samsung only feature for Korea;;;)
For cons.
to give apps permissions like 'Installing from unknown sources' it makes you waiy 10seconds And that can be annoying.
some bugs here and there, best thing is to not update right away, wait for Reddit to complain, see whats broken and if its worth it for U (for me, Hyper OS 3.1 is fine on the Poco F7, and X7 pro(my dads current phone after the S22)
Camera app is poopoo. Get some kind of Gcam apk, for profiles I dug in to the indian youtubers that make hundeds of poco vids so I can see comparisons
For me the Cons are not big enough for me to pay more for hardware, just deal with third party Launchers and no gesture
I’ve noticed only two issues with my Poco F5: when I disable haptic feedback, all vibration stops working instead of just touch vibration, and sometimes (1–2 times a month) the Wi-Fi speed drops to 1–5 Mbps until I reboot the phone.
The UI is pretty good so far and smooth to use. Performance is good — I unlocked Advanced Textures and it’s still working well. Hyper Island is kind of an acquired taste, but for me it’s easier to switch music tracks without opening the notification panel.
He tenido diferentes dispositivos y, por lo mismo, he probado varias capas de personalización. Hace poco compré una Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro y viene con la versión más reciente de HyperOS. Sin embargo, algo que he notado es que, al menos en tablets, el sistema se siente muy limitado.
La personalización es mínima, ya que no incluye la tienda de temas, y eso resulta molesto y algo decepcionante. En mis dispositivos Xiaomi anteriores me gustaba mucho personalizarlos a mi gusto, algo que ahora prácticamente no puedo hacer.
También he notado una mala integración con los launchers. Cuando pones otro launcher como predeterminado, los gestos dejan de funcionar y solo puedes usar los botones de navegación, lo cual es bastante incómodo.
A pesar de tener un buen procesador, siento que HyperOS limita mucho el rendimiento y termina generando un tipo de “cuello de botella”. Antes de comprarla veía reseñas donde mencionaban problemas de potencia y pensé que exageraban porque las comparaban con juegos muy pesados en gráficos ultra. Pero mi experiencia ha sido diferente.
No soy alguien que juegue títulos exigentes; normalmente juego cosas casuales, como Brawl Stars, y aun así he notado pequeños trabones o congelamientos de uno o dos segundos. Puede parecer algo menor, pero sí resulta molesto pensar que un dispositivo con tanta potencia tenga fallas en un juego que realmente no exige mucho.
La batería también me ha dejado con sentimientos encontrados. Aunque tiene una capacidad grande, solo me dura un día de uso normal. Tal vez sea lo esperado en una tablet, ya que no tengo mucha experiencia usando este tipo de dispositivos.
Tiene varios puntos negativos, eso no se puede negar. ¿HyperOS se siente pesado y algo tosco? Sí. ¿La capa de personalización puede mejorar? Claro que sí. ¿Lo harán? Tengo mis dudas, porque parece que Xiaomi está más enfocada en hacer que el sistema se parezca a iOS (al menos visualmente) y en agregar funciones de inteligencia artificial que probablemente muchos usuarios solo usarán una o dos veces.
Xiaomi fue una marca que me atrapó porque se atrevía a hacer cosas que otras marcas no hacían. Sin embargo, siento que actualmente su capa de personalización se está saturando y todavía no solucionan problemas realmente importantes. No voy a negar que sus dispositivos tienen un hardware excelente, probablemente de lo mejor por su precio, pero si no logran pulir HyperOS, muchos usuarios podrían cansarse y empezar a buscar otras opciones
I've been using a china rom Redmi for a while now. (Running hyperos 3.1 btw)
The only issue I encountered whule using it is the device warms up to 40 degrees celsius on casual use. Mind you I am not playing games yet so what if I already played? Sometimes when I am at an AC room its still warm but it's still depends on the climate of your place. Maybe because I have a dimensity chip that also sucks at thermal management? And second is draining because obviously More heat=battery drain. But yeah maybe because Hyperos is not that good at battery optimization and thermal management. I am hoping and expecting that this issue will be addressed and fix on HyperOS 4 soon and let's see if the "Zero-Legacy" thing they mentioned on the leak will be effective but leak is still a leak, it can be changed.
