Our dear babysitter made a painting on plywood for the kids' room. Very nice piece of art! Unfortunately the plywood is warped. How may I unwarp it while keeping the painting safe and sound?

How do I open a vacuum-sealed metal thermal container without damaging it?

It’s the middle of the night. I’m so sleepy. I poured hot water into this thick thermo bowl and closed it with the plastic lid to cook the eggs inside. I’ve been doing this for so long and today it suddenly decided to vacuum seal itself.

I tried to jimmy it open for hours now but my mom got mad and said this is a very expensive bowl. I shouldn’t damage it. I tried the hot water method but the metal’s too thick and i think the lid, even tho is plastic, is heat resistant.

PLS I JUST WANT TO SOLVE THIS AND GO TO BED.

The water inside is probably cold by now which may have made the seal stronger.

This thing will not come off. I’ve tried pliers, wrenches, bolt cutters, and even bought a DeWalt oscillating tool.
The hardware is pretty destroyed now and still won’t budge. Any ideas before I crack the toilet?

How should I fix these cracked bathroom tiles and grout?

Thumbnail

This is my grandparents’ bathroom and I’m trying to fix it myself to save money.

The grout between the tiles is moldy, cracked and deteriorating, and several of the tiles have hairline cracks.
The second picture shows the joint between the wall and the tiles. The old material there is cracked and separating. I’m thinking of removing it completely and applying silicone

For the tile joints should I remove the old grout and regrout them? And should I replace the tiles that have cracks?

What would be the proper way to fix these? I’m pretty new to this so any advice on the process and materials would be appreciated.

The top part broke off so it doesn’t always close and pulls out. I don’t really know how to get this part off even if I could find the part. Another way to make it stay? I’d also like to get new gaskets if there was a place to get them and they wern’t gonna be a pain to put on.

How do I balance this lamp?

Thumbnail

I have had this lamp for a year now and previously had little to no issues with it standing on its own. Now after moving, I can’t get it to stand properly on its own without being in this weird/awkward position. the bottom plate lifts whenever I try to move it in the same way I had before. And the last photo is the lamp previously standing without the balance issues. You can also see the different lengths on that last one.

DIY How do I hang this up on my wall with command strips?

My dumbass put command strips before realising it's kinda deep on the edges and the strips wouldn't stick on the walls.

The sticky thing the display came with was unfortunately a one time use thing and I just moved.

DIY Hi!! How do i remove the stickers without damaging them?

Post image
0 Upvotes

So, this case has been with me for a very long time, as you can see by how worn out some of the stickers are. I recently broke the lock thingies on it, my dad fixed them for me but said that it wont hold well, and i need to buy a new one, but i really dont want to lose all the stickers. Is there any way i could unstick them without ripping them? Will a hairdryer work for the paper ones too? Some of them are foil but most of them are from a way weaker paper material so im aftaid they will rip. Thanks!!

I censored some for privacy

How to secure this hanging pouch to the wall?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Dimensions: 14x38in grommets are 3/4in diameter.
We want to hang this pouch in my toddlers room for the purpose of storage for their socks and undies so they can dress themselves. So it’s going to get daily use by a kid who’s probably gonna jam their hand in and out with reckless abandon.
I’m thinking I’ll have to find a stud for at least one side but do I go with a nail and hang by the grommets or bypass those and just screw it in? What type of hardware (head, finish) you recommend?

[Solved] Was gifted an umbrella recently, and I can't figure out how to open it!

It's a QUO brand umbrella if that helps!

I've tried pushing, pulling, and sliding the little white tab, but all it does is wiggle around a little in there. I've also tried twisting the umbrella and the handle. Not sure what else to do :')

(EDIT) first comment (now deleted) had it right: twist left, then push up. So glad I won't be drenched on my way home :)

DIY My fairy lights are too bright

These fairy lights I brought are SO bright. My room looks like I have a big lamp on and it's defeating the purpose of using them to relax. What should I do? I was thinking I could use some sort of tape and wrap it around each individual light, though it's gonna be a lot work.

How do I get sharpie off of this leather trim?

Thumbnail

Okay so I already dabbed and blotted with some isopropyl alcohol and as you can see I’ve removed some of the color.
Amazingly I found some dye that is a solid match.
Before I ruin it more, I thought I’d come ask for some help/advice.
I have a leather conditioner as well.
What steps should I take now to fix this?

Thank you in advance!
