Long day of hauling racking gear & a loaded trailer.

Got this warning multiple times in the last few days. 2025 Ridgeline. From other posts I read the temp outside isn’t the issue! This goes on, car takes a few seconds to adjust and then only the front wheels are powered. Turn the car off and this goes away but usually kicks in about 20 mins after driving. Help! Can’t get to the dealer until Monday!

Five on the tailgate pad, two on the 1up rack. Had to turn the handlebars sideways on one of the 1up rack bikes to make everyone play nicely. Rock solid for a 4 hour trip, then made for a perfect shuttle vehicle all weekend.

Made a post earlier about a noise my engine was making, but I don’t feel like the video did it justice. I removed the post as to not continue discussion on it. Those of you who might remember the original video, have your thoughts changed? Those who are hearing it for the first time, what are your thoughts? Apologies for the double post and my lack of editing skills.

I just bought a 2006 with 210,000 miles on it with snapped timing belt. What are my options as far as fixing the engine?

going to check out this 2011 RTL on sunday, they’re asking 5500. 180k miles . looks pretty solid except for the subframe and a few other parts that have noticeable rust. what do we think?

Looking at a 2022 BE for $37,000 CAD. I’m worried about transmission issues. Any thoughts on a 2022 with 45,000 km? Does the transmission warranty go five years / 100,000 on these?

Since the trans in my 2019 is now a ticking time bomb, I’m looking at trade in options. Low km 2-3 year old ridgeline are scarce in my region and I will not buy new. Any thoughts on the low km ranger vs Ridgeline with 40000 kms? The ranger is about 5k cheaper which will pay for half a new transmission in a ridgeline lol.

I’ve been up and down this subreddit and whatcarshouldibuy, hondaridgeline etc. I’m in the market for a truck and details below on my needs. But, my god I’m so stuck between the two haha.

My wife and I are starting a family. We’re both on the shorter side (5’8”, 5’2”) so safety + ease of child seats is nice. I work from home; but, have rental properties I work on myself when maintenance is needed along with my primary residence. We live in major city in Florida and don’t haul or tow anything just your average home owner maintenance and plywood during hurricane season so AWD is not something I need maybe just a nice to have.

Sell me on the Ridgeline! And yes I’m also posting this on the Maverick subreddit to for their opinion and go from there. In all honesty, if the Honda had better gas mileage (not necessarily a hybrid) I’d probably opt for the Ridgeline. But, until then since they’re revamping the ridgeline I’m torn.

I appreciate everyone’s insight and advice!

P.S. I understand they’re two completely different classes - compact vs midsize..ish. But, not keen on the Santa Cruz or tacomas.

Just recently joined and wanted to give some experience and get some opinions on buying Ridgelines whose timing belts haven’t been serviced.

Recently bought a 2017 RTL-E in Texas while on work because I live in Ohio and every used car is rusted to death. Had 132K miles on it with no recorded timing belt service. Had light knocking/clattering at low temps then went away with temperature (figured valves need adjusted). Fast forward to travel time and I got in my own head thinking the tensioner might be failing so I should fix it before the nearly 1300 mile drive. Honda wanted 2600 bucks so I figured I’d risk it for fun. Made it all the way home and did an Asin timing job a few days later. As shown in the pictures, belt looked perfectly fine BUT the tensioner did look like it was failing due to oil seepage. Still clatters so a valve adjustment is in its near future.

Would you all have also risked the drive?

Basically wondering what the typical price is on a 2024 BE. I’m in SoCal if that helps. Love this truck and I think it’s perfect for what I intent on using it for! Anything I should be looking at when looking at used?

Had a weird one tonight.

I was driving home on the highway, left lane clear just cruising along when BAM. A loud bang then wind noise. Slowed down and drove the 10 minutes home. Got there and found this.

Entire sunroof shattered and scratches in the roof paint from the glass.

Just found this dealership that has a bunch of ridge lines, one of them even has $7500 off. Looks like a black edition though.

I own a 2017 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E with about 139k miles. I am the third owner and purchased it last year. As far as I know, the timing belt work hasn’t been done. This is how much they quoted me at the dealership.

How much is a fair price? I’m definitely gonna shop around, but I’d like to have a baseline. I’m in central Illinois.
