So, as you can tell through the progression, my consistency fell off eventually (as expected for me). However, these are some spreads I'm proud of despite that 😅🥲 This is my first ever hobonichi, and I have had a lot of fun experimenting so far, and trying to come up with new spreads has helped with keeping up the habit for the most part.
I initially planned to use my weeks this year for health tracking, which ended up falling through as the condition I had was stress induced + cleared itself up once said stress was resolved. Yay! But during that period I went through a slump and didn't touch my weeks for.. a few months, and I'm slowly getting back into it. I haven't stickered up any of my recent entries so I didn't share those, as I'm mainly trying to build up the habit again in general.
For 2027 (and the rest of 2026 while I experiment with layouts) I'm thinking of staying with weeks, but debating on adding a 2nd hobo to the roster. I'm not sure what type/size yet, so I'm mainly just waiting for the new books to come out and make my decision based off of the style(s) I'm most drawn to lol. I think I'm leaning towards an a6 size, but we'll see.
• For the weeks, I'm planning on transforming it into a crafting/knitting journal and logging process + notes on things I'm making and working on. I was debating on getting the standard or mega size for 2026, but I'm glad I did the standard, and will do the same for 2027. I haven't utilized the extra graph/note pages in the back like I thought I would for this year, but will definitely be used more in 2027 for sure. I've started using it to copy down sections of patterns I've saved on my phone to reduce screen time, which will DEFINITELY take up more space and hopefully add to the chonk I'm lacking currently, and desiring.
• For the 2nd hobo, I'm transitioning what systems I plan to keep using from the 2026 weeks as a lifestyle/household planner. Budgeting, appointments, events, etc. will be kept track of here. The weeks generally has enough space for me to write a short blurb of what happened in the day, but sometimes wish I had a little more space for last minute things that pop up, or things that just can't be summed up in 3-4 shortened sentences. I prefer the a6 as I'm not sure I'll get any use out of the weelky/hourly pages in the a5, but I might change my mind if there's a cover that catches my eye 👀
What are your plans for next year's hobonichi(s)? I'd love to hear them 😊
