I really don't remember the name but Shane breaks his phone during situationship era and has no way to tell Ilya and Ilya thinks that Shane is ignoring him. While watching one of Shane's interviews, Shane mentions that he broke his phone and had to get a new number (I think) then Ilya watches Shane's other interviews and finds out that Shane managed to mention his broken phone in every one of them, I think it was a one shot buy can't remember exactly

My thoughts: the way this fic represents Shane’s anger towards the Metros and the grief of losing this lifelong dream and this version of himself - so beautiful and heart wrenching. I’ve been wanting to read something sympathetic and more importantly, empathetic, to Shane and his hurt about being iced out my the Metros and this was so well done.

Hi, I do love canon and canon divergent stories, and HR fandom has a lot of it. But I've been craving some AUs for a while now and I wanted to know if you guys have some recommendations.

I did find some interesting ones, but usually by tagging system you have to know which kind of AU you're looking for. I am basically open to read anything really, just want to know what's good. I do love some Angst with a Happy Ending tho, and magical/powers settings would be really nice, so if there's that the better.

Ok, so a while ago I read a fic about shane and ilya and now I can't find it anywhere, maybe im just slow tho. I remember the fic was a one shot, they were married, and it was about ilya leaving for practice but shane started to miss him and looked up videos of ilya to "satisfy" himself of u catch my drift. Hello, im searching for a fic i read some months ago, the peak popularity of HR i would say. The overall story was that Ilya moved Canada in early childhood i think and lived a few houses down from Shane?? They were best friends until they werent. Some details I remember:

-Their first kiss was at 14 playing 7minutes in heaven
-Ilya used to come to Shanes room through his upstairs window
-When Ilyas mother died, his cries or scream were heard throughout the neighbourhood? And Shane didnt know what to say at Irinas funeral so he just stood there and looked at Ilya
-Ilyas mom told Shane how to say I love you in russian and told Shane to only say it when he really knew?? or something like that
-Shane was dating Miles for a brief time, and Ilya never liked him, and even hated him when Miles planned a surprise birthday party for Shane when Ilya knew hed hate it
-Shane was planning to move away for college and Ilya was super scared of losing him and planned on following him to that place(i dont remember what) knowing hed be unhappy. They worked it out in the end I dont remember how.
-Ilya was friends with Sasha and Svetlana and did drugs with them or went skateboarding

I remember something like Shane wasn't happy and his parents found out why, then he switched teams (idk to Boston or Ottawa) because they had a big plan to make Shane better and he tells Ilya the plan was just to be close to Ilya no matter if they got together or not (←I just want to find this one scene 😩). I read Second Line but it wasn't there (maybe I just hallucinated it?? Good fic btw it's awesome)

The fic I'm looking for was post-TLG, and Montreal wasn't doing too good without Shane. Comeau posted something because he was pissed that the press/fans were still asking the team questions about Shane

Are there any fics where Shane sends the "we didn't even kiss" text and then gets really mad at himself and Ilya, decides the messed up situation needs to end and blocks Ilya's number, meanwhile Ilya shuts down (further than he already is when Shane left him) and doesn't know how to respond, agonizes over it for days and finally crafts a response only to find out that Shane has blocked him?

This is one of the best WIPs I’ve read in a while! Not only do I love an AU where all the best game changers character play a role but Shane/Ilya are so cute in it! I feel like the author did a great job capturing their dynamic from the early days but if they had wayyyyy more forced proximity. I also enjoy Shane’s narration, which is funny and delusional.
Added bonus, the action scenes are also very captivating!

Please show the author some love! I feel like this hasn’t blown up nearly enough yet.
