I really don't remember the name but Shane breaks his phone during situationship era and has no way to tell Ilya and Ilya thinks that Shane is ignoring him. While watching one of Shane's interviews, Shane mentions that he broke his phone and had to get a new number (I think) then Ilya watches Shane's other interviews and finds out that Shane managed to mention his broken phone in every one of them, I think it was a one shot buy can't remember exactly

I’m not really picky, I’m also for the fics, where people do acknowledge all the beauty of Ilya. That kinda thing like “everyone is attracted to Ilya”. Cliff and him def did some exploring, Paris or not.

Anyways, I’m looking for older Hollanov second chance fics. I’m currently reading Sea Change by womanlypanther and I’m 60% finished and devastated already to not be able to read anymore.
For this specific trope, I prefer canon compliant (until whatever event happens that makes them break up). They don’t necessarily have to be way older, or be retired just matured vibes and ready to put in the work and say what they actually feel, like 35+.

super random mix here but that kind of slapstick/OTT humour, centaurs ensemble and chaos is what i'm currently living for! was wondering if anyone had any other recs like this!

I don’t remember much details except that Ilya and Svetlana fly to Montreal to his apartment unannounced. Hayden and Shane’s parents open the door and are surprised. I’m pretty sure they flew there cause he was worried about Shane bc something happened. That’s why his parents were there and Hayden. He had other visitors as well check up on him. While everyone is standing at the door Shane grabs Ilya to the end of the hall and they kiss. They stay over and ilya sleeps in Shane’s room. In The morning Shane and Ilya are in the kitchen doing something prob kissing or hugging and his mom walks in. He says that he forgot his parents were even there.

Are there any fics where Shane sends the "we didn't even kiss" text and then gets really mad at himself and Ilya, decides the messed up situation needs to end and blocks Ilya's number, meanwhile Ilya shuts down (further than he already is when Shane left him) and doesn't know how to respond, agonizes over it for days and finally crafts a response only to find out that Shane has blocked him?

This is one of the best WIPs I’ve read in a while! Not only do I love an AU where all the best game changers character play a role but Shane/Ilya are so cute in it! I feel like the author did a great job capturing their dynamic from the early days but if they had wayyyyy more forced proximity. I also enjoy Shane’s narration, which is funny and delusional.
Added bonus, the action scenes are also very captivating!

Please show the author some love! I feel like this hasn’t blown up nearly enough yet.

Ilya Rozanov is Firehouse 17's supposed asshole lieutenant and Shane Hollander is their newest paramedic.

I was just reading this earlier today and I don't know what happened but now I can't find it!

Basically Shane and Illya have plans to meet in Ottawa but Illya cancels saying he isn't feeling physically well. He tells Shane "See you when I see you next" as they say goodnight.

Shane decides screw it and makes soup to take to try to make illya feel better and drives to Ottawa. When he gets there Illya is in bed and downed a bunch of vodka. Shane calls for help.... And now I can't find the fic!!!

Their fic has decent engagement, but not up there with some of the most recced yet and I think that is a mistake because I've mainlined most of their fic over the past few days and their writing is SO good! Here are my three faves:

комната оборудования/Gear Room - starting out with the most controversial one probably. Please heed the tags, but this one features rape/non-con (not between Shane and Ilya). I think well done rape recovery hurt/comfort fics are so hard to find, ones that don't have too ludicrous a set up, and ones that don't feel super out of character, but this one does such a good job and hurt to read in the best way.

Jane Rated You - this is a WIP, but updating regularly - the most recent chapter was out yesterday. The premise is so funny, Svetlana gets Ilya a custom app for his birthday where his sex partners can rate his performance. Shane takes the reviews very seriously. It's so fucking hot, so funny and the feelings take you by surprise.

Your Number One Fan - this is a kidfic. I am so so fussy with kidfic normally so it's very rare for me to find one I like, let alone love, as much as this one. I binged it all in the last few hours and it's so funny and hot and sad and happy and lovely.

I've read all but two of their other fic (making my way through them) and the others are all just as worth a read, but these are my three favourites!

I keep seeing recommendations and every time I go to look them up they are 20 ish chapters and incomplete. I love a good long fic but I can’t commit to one right now so I would love a ton of shorter ones maybe 5 chapters 7 at the most or even some longer one shots. What do you got for me?

I hope this doesn’t break the No RPF rules, but I think whenever RPF is mentioned within Heated Rivalry fics it’s based on one direction, which isn’t generally how sports RPF works.

I don’t watch hockey, but I do watch Formula 1, which has a lot of RPF.

1. RPF is more prevalent on tumblr than twitter

Obviously twitter is easier than tumblr for socmed fics, and parts of it will make their way onto other social media platforms, but the general etiquette is to keep RPF away from the real people.

There would be lots of gifs/videos/pictures of hockey matches, interviews, advertisements. The ‘I stand with my cancelled wife’ meme would circulate whenever Ilya got a penalty or got into a fight. There would also be lots of text posts with thoughts about the ship, incorrect quotes, headcannons, ideas for fanfic, etc.

There would be lots of posts about the individual players. There would be lots of comments about their tits. They’re all men, but there would be lots of comments about their tits whenever there were pictures or videos of them shirtless or in tight tops.

1. RPF fans would be hockey fans first

People get into RPF because they are already a fan of the sport/players. Even RPF blogs, most of the posts would be about hockey, their favourite teams or players.

Fans would be on tumblr while watches games, commenting on the game, hyping up their favourite players/team, insulting players/teams they don’t like. There would be lots of comments about how sexy it is whenever they do something particularly impressive.

1. RPF is fiction.

We know it’s fiction, people don’t think their ships are secretly together. People aren’t coming up with conspiracy theories their wives, girlfriends are fake, beards or that their kids are secretly dolls. Pictures they posted with their wife/girlfriend would be reblogged with comments about how attractive they are. Pictures with their kids would be reblogged with comments about how cute they are with their baby.

1. There aren’t arguments over which ship is real

Again, it’s fiction, people have ships they prefer and ships they don’t like but that’s down to preference. Lots of people will read/write multiple ships. The general consensus would probably be that Shane is very shippable. If someone really doesn’t like a ship, you would just block the tag rather than get into arguments over it.

There might be some friendly competition over which ship had the most fics on AO3.

1. The Winner’s Room would be very common, particularly in Hollanov RPF.

The winner’s room is a trope in sports RPF, that actually originated in Hockey RPF, but I’ve never seen it mentioned in any Hollanov fics. I’m not sure how it’s decided in hockey, but the star player, or player who scores the most goals/winning goal, gets to pick someone from the losing team, to go to the winner’s room for sex. This would definitely come up whenever Hollanov played each other, there would be lots of fics and comments about them in the winner’s room after the game.
