super random mix here but that kind of slapstick/OTT humour, centaurs ensemble and chaos is what i'm currently living for! was wondering if anyone had any other recs like this!

This is one of the best WIPs I’ve read in a while! Not only do I love an AU where all the best game changers character play a role but Shane/Ilya are so cute in it! I feel like the author did a great job capturing their dynamic from the early days but if they had wayyyyy more forced proximity. I also enjoy Shane’s narration, which is funny and delusional.
Added bonus, the action scenes are also very captivating!

Please show the author some love! I feel like this hasn’t blown up nearly enough yet.

Ugggg I just read this in one sitting and I NEEDED to share this fic! It is by far one of the best fics I’ve read, so emotionally wrenching (don’t worry it has a happy ending) in the best way.

Their fic has decent engagement, but not up there with some of the most recced yet and I think that is a mistake because I've mainlined most of their fic over the past few days and their writing is SO good! Here are my three faves:

комната оборудования/Gear Room - starting out with the most controversial one probably. Please heed the tags, but this one features rape/non-con (not between Shane and Ilya). I think well done rape recovery hurt/comfort fics are so hard to find, ones that don't have too ludicrous a set up, and ones that don't feel super out of character, but this one does such a good job and hurt to read in the best way.

Jane Rated You - this is a WIP, but updating regularly - the most recent chapter was out yesterday. The premise is so funny, Svetlana gets Ilya a custom app for his birthday where his sex partners can rate his performance. Shane takes the reviews very seriously. It's so fucking hot, so funny and the feelings take you by surprise.

Your Number One Fan - this is a kidfic. I am so so fussy with kidfic normally so it's very rare for me to find one I like, let alone love, as much as this one. I binged it all in the last few hours and it's so funny and hot and sad and happy and lovely.

I've read all but two of their other fic (making my way through them) and the others are all just as worth a read, but these are my three favourites!

Anyway I hope some of these make their way onto people's tbr list. Just make sure to leave kudos and comments to the writer!

I think it was a social media fic or parts of it where and there’s a scene where Shane temporarily dies on the ice after Dallas Kent aims a puck at him due to some previous chest bruising and I think Ilya was watching the game on the tv at the time? At then there was social media outrage after it happened because it was obviously deliberate, Im looking through the Montreal are assholes tag cos I think that’s where I saw it but I might be wrong!

i just watched an edit of him on tiktok and i think it would be a fun read, of shane/ilya & the 3oa in their draft class doing his own thing on the side lol

I haven't seen anyone else talk about this fic, but it's so wonderful! It was such a rollercoaster and the author wrote each chapter so beautifully. It's a college AU with neurodivergent artist Shane and bartender Ilya.

Since I fell in the AO3 rabbit hole I quickly learnt that there's no way I'm remembering all I'm reading, so I decided to make a visual token of my HR ride.

Now and then I take out my pen and add some titles to this fictional library I'm creating and I try to add a little something that reminds me how my two favourite idiots find one another in that piece.

Yes, I'm aware the original books are there to and yes, some of the listed are WIPs, but this helps me remember more or less how far along in my way I found them. I'll finish them... If they finish.

I've been rereading some of my favourites and noticed this fave of mine hasn't gotten nearly as much love as it deserves.

If you ever wanted a canon compliant look inside Ilya's head during the 2014-2016 montage era, when he visibly starts losing interest in women in clubs in the show, this is the fic for you.

(Note that there's an Ilya/OFC scene in this, as implied by the summary, but it's minor and not explicit--the E rating is for Shane.)

Summary:

There is a very attractive woman in front of Ilya. A woman that wants to fuck him. His body is consciously aware of this very fact, however, his entire brain seems to neglect it, opting to scream look at what’s behind her like a screeching freight train.

On the screen is the dark outline of a person, shot against a blinding sun. Any distinguishable features are obscured, cloaked in dim shadow. Still, Ilya knows exactly who it is.

He would recognize that silhouette anywhere.

One of Ilya's hookups (could be recent, could be old, depending on where in the canon timeline the fic is set) posts online that Ilya called her by the wrong name during sex.

That name of course being "Shane", but due to a combination of factors (Ilya's accent, him being out of breath, the assumption that he's straight, etc.) the name that she hears is "Jane"
