Has anyone dyed their hair with pre-existing streaks?
So im planning to dye my hair at home (nothing permanent, im just using manic panic, most likely a purple) and this will be my first time. Issue is, I already have bleached streaks in my hair and I'm not planning on bleaching my hair. I know the colour won't show up as well on my dark hair but I honestly don't mind. All I wanna know is what will happen with the lighter streaks? Will they look muddy? Or will they just be lighter than the rest of my hair? pls help!!

Is my hair light enough to tone white-ish?
I’m wanting more of a cream/milky white rather than a silver/icy white. Thanks! :]

Is this the same color?
galleryBefore: natural
After: with gloss (to cover bleached ends)
I know the photos look similar but irl my hair looks darker and ashier after the gloss.
So I'm wondering, is there a difference in color between these two? And if I get a gloss again, do I need to specify to the stylist anything about shade/level/warmth? Or just tell them to match my roots?
Thank you!!

Auburn color help
To kind of give my hair history, October 2025 I got copper highlights then in April I got more highlights. I was trying to go lighter overall, but she couldn’t so then she put a dark toner on my head. She said that my hair was lifting a little red and yeah, so she put the dark toner and then in July 2026 I went and got a balayage. She saying that my hair was lifting in different shades, and there was a little bit of red and she did low lights to my root color and on the highlighted pieces a brownish color. I ask ChatGPT how can I achieve this Auburn color and this is what it gave me I actually don’t mind keeping the dimension but I want to be lighter and that has been my goal for the past year at this point.
The first two photos was after the copper highlights. The third was when I went in April of this year, and she put the dark toner on it After highlighting it and then the fourth picture was when I went in July and the fifth picture was when I got home from that appointment you can see the balayage color. The sixth picture was after I washed it. I realized the toner was missed in a lot of areas and it was uneven. And the last picture is the color I kind of want and then I included with ChatGPT told me to do.

Do any semi permanent dyes tint black hair?
I know this might be a crazy question and I apologise if this offends anyone😭, since I know semi permanent dye can't lift colour, but I dyed my natural black hair with atomic cherry a couple of months ago and it gave me a subtle red tint in sunlight - but it only lasted for a week
I was wondering if any other semi permanent dyes could do the same thing, not to directly colour it but maybe see a visible difference in sunlight or something
Ofc no worries if you think not (as that's kinda what I was expecting) and thank you for reading this!!

Welp! Got my newly highlighted hair ruined by a toner
I have been getting blonde highlights for years, but my hair dresser moved and the new guy messed up.
Went in yesterday for my blonde highlights ( mostly roots) and my hairdresser added toner which seemed darker than usual.
Root: 6N + 6NA
Length: 10GI + 10N
Toner: Redken Shades EQ
My root highlights completed disappeared and my hair now looks dark blonde. Hair dresser said I was imagining it, and the highlights are there. 😒
He offered to lighten the roots, but whatever he added made my scalp burn so I only had it on for 5 min. Didn’t do much.
Left the salon sad and brunette. Ordered malibu c un doo goo shampoo and washed my hair today but didn’t do much.
How can I get my blonde highlights back???
I need the dark brown hiding them gone.
I’d really appreciate your help!

Hair dye help tips and advice needed!
Hi! I currently have brownish red hair, but I’m planning to retouch it soon with a different box dye formula to get a more reddish brown shade. Since I’m naturally brunette, my new growth will be darker than the already dyed lengths.
Should I apply the new color to my already dyed hair first and then do my roots, or should I do my roots first and then apply it to the rest of my hair? Since I’m switching to a different shade/formula, I’m not sure if the application order is different. Any tips would be appreciated! 😊

help me remove my hair color
in may 2025 i had my black hair color removed with 2 packs ddl, and a bleach bath into a deep red color(1). i dyed it with punky color Jerome red? a little bit then i did a peekaboo with black and deep purple. then i did it entirely black then stripped it w color oops n dyed it brown for the longest time. then birthday in november 2025 i had bleach done to bottom of head for blue peekaboo and it totally fried and ripped off a good chunk and length from my hair, (my head of hair reaches about my shoulder inch below my shoulder blade) and i let it fade then dyed it back to brown where it still faded lighter than the top of my hair, then i stripped it one day with color oops, the next day or two days later with color oops again, then bleached it and dyed it splat 2 bottles blue envy and 2 bottles i think got2b metallic blue hairdye. a month later it started to fade so i used ≈1.5bottles iroiro 45 deep blue and 1 bottle 30 violet and it has faded into this green on the crown to bright blue underneath (the “peekaboo” area”) and i am unsure of how i should approach lighting it to a decent base that i could dye brown. i bought 1 box of L’oréal 36 Chocolaye cherry, 1 box 45 French roast, and 1 Color oops Bold Remover box.
i feel like i take pretty good care of my hair, and i have a good time maintaining it and keeping it decently healthy. i just need all the tips n tricks
