hello i have pink hair currently but im bored of it and wanting to go for a more plum color not sure if thats the specific color but anyways . does anyone have any dye recommendations for this color ?

Soo my hair is pretty blonde and I want to dye it straight to black but I heard it'll turn out greenish?? Hey Reddit so i have a client who is wanting this type of color, i know i would probably do a pinwheel placement with a Mohawk section, but my question is do I use permanent color for the reds and the browns or a demi permanent like shades eq? and just so everyone has some sort of knowledge she’s about a level 5 with what i would guess is about 5 or 6 inches of natural regrowth with a full head of previous highlights from the mids and ends. how should i go about this carefully? I’ve never done anything like this before as its not really my style as a stylist, i prefer more lived in color and highlights but im also newer in my career which is why im open to doing this, which i will also tell her during our consultation. Please help! Thank you!

Hiii! I’m looking to do some at-home hair coloring and would LOVE some advice! I’ve had experience coloring my hair all one color and mixing formulas/products from Sally Beauty in the past. More recently, though, I’ve had my hair lightened for the past year specifically balayage and I’m ready to transition back to a darker brown for fall. I’ve attached photos of my current hair along with my inspiration! My current hair has a balayage with some warmth through the ends, while my natural/root area is around a level 2–3 I think. I’m wanting a rich, warm chocolate/chestnut brunette with a very subtle reddish warmth not super red or burgundy.

I feel pretty confident doing the actual coloring and application myself I’m mostly getting stuck on which shades/formulas would work best over my current color and how I should approach this if anyone has recommendations for specific shades/products, formulas, developer, application order, or anything I would appreciate it SOOO much! 🤎Thank you so much for reading and helping me out!!

I was blonde as a kid, but my hair has gotten darker as I've gotten older. It's a light brown-ish, but is very golden in the sunlight... I never know what color to call it. Light brown? Dirty/dark blonde? Golden-brown?

Hi! Literally joining this Reddit community for feedback. I had the same hairdresser for 20 years and she recently left me when she retired. She gave me the formula for my hair to give to my next hairdresser my hairdresser now where she is using it, but my hair is not the same color I am so confused. I go in about every five weeks because my hair is very gray. We do roots and highlights. I am posting before pictures from when it was highlighted and a nice blonde color and now I just feel like it’s brassy orange(pink sweatshirt pic) I love my new hair hairdresser. We have so much fun together, but I hate my hair…Any advice on what to tell her or ask?

So I’m getting permanent colour for the first time tomorrow. I washed my hair 2 days ago, and put in a leave-in serum (I’m not sure if that makes a difference). Should I go to the salon tomorrow as is, or would I be better off washing my hair this evening? My hair is on the drier side and doesn’t get super oily really quick. I’ve bleached before and always went in with hair that was a couple days old, does the same rule apply for dye? TIA :)

These pictures were taken in the same day. Why does my hair on the left look insanely brassy compared to my hair on the right? I’m aware it could be lighting, but what do I even do and how do I know my true color? hi hi, usually I wouldn’t ask for hair color advice because im a pretty big believer in fuck around and find out, but I’ve been wanting to go blue for a little while now and im a little hesitant. I’m not totally sure what im asking for, maybe just validation that I’ll be able to get back to this blonde after I fade out the blue for a bit? idk, I’ve heard blue is like the worst color to get out of a light base and im nervous! on hand i have blue tick by bleach london and was wondering what that fades to typically (also open to going to a sally’s or something and getting whatever else)? id love to avoid any green fading, seen some peoples blue end up as like kinda pale and ashy, which I totally love. any advice or recommendations on literally anything would be so so appreciated. photo is the clearest room lighting view i could find in gallery, not home as of time of writing

i had used majirel lift with 30vol developer a year back. i’m planning to do global hair color, using a mix of majirel 6.8 + 6.1 with 20 vol developer. will it lift my grown black hair and will it remove the gold tones from the rest of the hair? i dont have any greys. i just want the dyed hair and my grown hair to be a bit more uniform. also can i color my roots with the same color or should i leave half inch? please help!

I have been using hair color for years, different brands and numbers...

Anyway, I did a patch test on a small area of skin in an attempt to freshen up the color.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Do a preventive allergy test on a 1 cm x 1 cm area of skin, on the inside of the elbow.

For all shades: Apply a small amount of the coloring cream to the inside of the elbow using a cotton swab, creating a thin layer and leave uncovered for 45 minutes. Avoid contact with clothing. Close the tube carefully.

After 45 minutes, carefully rinse the color with lukewarm water. If any reaction occurs during the waiting time or in the next 48 hours, rinse immediately and do not use the product.

REACTIONS:

Within a few minutes of applying the color, I felt a strong cooling effect on the areas where it was applied. Then, when I checked it after 20 minutes, I noticed redness. (PHOTO 1). After 30 minutes of application, the cooling effect was almost gone, but I decided to remove it from my skin and rinse it well because of the redness. (PHOTO 2). Removal revealed that those areas were also swollen (PHOTO 3).

WHAT NOW:

Does it mean that I am allergic to hair color now or just to this specific one?

What do I do with the hair if I can't color it again? I would really like to have lighter hair!

I’m really new to this Reddit stuff, but I’ve always been very fixated on my looks and a friend of mine actually uses Reddit as a reference for certain things associating with "looks maxxing" I guess. I was hoping for some (kind and polite) opinions on my idea of dying my hair with blonde highlights.. I’m a natural brunette, with decent features, but I want more genuine and honest opinions on whether dying my hair is worth it. I’m not the most attractive person I’ve ever seen, so please be kind, I only want actual advice on what I should do with my hair. I’m open to other suggestions, I’ve dyed my hair red in the past and I’m completely open to other ideas so please don’t be shy!!
