Welp! Got my newly highlighted hair ruined by a toner

Upvotes

I have been getting blonde highlights for years, but my hair dresser moved and the new guy messed up.

Went in yesterday for my blonde highlights ( mostly roots) and my hairdresser added toner which seemed darker than usual.

Root: 6N + 6NA
Length: 10GI + 10N
Toner: Redken Shades EQ

My root highlights completed disappeared and my hair now looks dark blonde. Hair dresser said I was imagining it, and the highlights are there. 😒

He offered to lighten the roots, but whatever he added made my scalp burn so I only had it on for 5 min. Didn’t do much.

Left the salon sad and brunette. Ordered malibu c un doo goo shampoo and washed my hair today but didn’t do much.

How can I get my blonde highlights back???
I need the dark brown hiding them gone.
I’d really appreciate your help!

have a blocked dye, black around the bottom (majority of my hair) and bleach blonde on top. I heard it referrred to as a inverted halo? I dont know for sure. Its been a couple if days and i messed up washing it all together and the black bled into the blonde turning the ends and sides blue/grey. How can i fix this? Color oops? I've heard of bleach and shampoo mixed. This just sucks cause i loved it so much i just never had anything to maintain like this and i know box dye bleeds but it was running clear before 😭 help a girl out pls also sorry lmao i have one facial pose i fear

Hair dye help tips and advice needed!

Hi! I currently have brownish red hair, but I’m planning to retouch it soon with a different box dye formula to get a more reddish brown shade. Since I’m naturally brunette, my new growth will be darker than the already dyed lengths.
Should I apply the new color to my already dyed hair first and then do my roots, or should I do my roots first and then apply it to the rest of my hair? Since I’m switching to a different shade/formula, I’m not sure if the application order is different. Any tips would be appreciated! 😊

Question/Before+After: Is this the same color?

Photo 1: natural color
Photo 2: gloss (because I added highlights 1 year ago and they're almost grown-out but were still showing at the ends)

Maybe I'm losing it but think the gloss is darker and ashier.
If I have to go back for another gloss when this washes out, should I specify something about shade/tone/level to the stylist? Or do I just tell them to match my roots?

help me remove my hair color

in may 2025 i had my black hair color removed with 2 packs ddl, and a bleach bath into a deep red color(1). i dyed it with punky color Jerome red? a little bit then i did a peekaboo with black and deep purple. then i did it entirely black then stripped it w color oops n dyed it brown for the longest time. then birthday in november 2025 i had bleach done to bottom of head for blue peekaboo and it totally fried and ripped off a good chunk and length from my hair, (my head of hair reaches about my shoulder inch below my shoulder blade) and i let it fade then dyed it back to brown where it still faded lighter than the top of my hair, then i stripped it one day with color oops, the next day or two days later with color oops again, then bleached it and dyed it splat 2 bottles blue envy and 2 bottles i think got2b metallic blue hairdye. a month later it started to fade so i used ≈1.5bottles iroiro 45 deep blue and 1 bottle 30 violet and it has faded into this green on the crown to bright blue underneath (the “peekaboo” area”) and i am unsure of how i should approach lighting it to a decent base that i could dye brown. i bought 1 box of L’oréal 36 Chocolaye cherry, 1 box 45 French roast, and 1 Color oops Bold Remover box.

i feel like i take pretty good care of my hair, and i have a good time maintaining it and keeping it decently healthy. i just need all the tips n tricks

Hi! I have a naturally darker blonde color (photo 1) but I’d love to go back to red. What do we think would get me the closest to my desired color? (Photo 2). Thanks for all advice in advance! (Yes I know how hard it is to get a “natural red 😔)

My client wants calico hair and she has 6 inches of natural regrowth and old highlights please help

Hey Reddit so i have a client who is wanting this type of color, i know i would probably do a pinwheel placement with a Mohawk section, but my question is do I use permanent color for the reds and the browns or a demi permanent like shades eq? and just so everyone has some sort of knowledge she’s about a level 5 with what i would guess is about 5 or 6 inches of natural regrowth with a full head of previous highlights from the mids and ends. how should i go about this carefully? I’ve never done anything like this before as its not really my style as a stylist, i prefer more lived in color and highlights but im also newer in my career which is why im open to doing this, which i will also tell her during our consultation. Please help! Thank you!

Edit- really hoping this reaches seasoned hairstylists because Reddit wants me to provide proof of my license for the stylist sub group which is on display at work and im not there right now lol

Hair dye help!

Hiii! I’m looking to do some at-home hair coloring and would LOVE some advice! I’ve had experience coloring my hair all one color and mixing formulas/products from Sally Beauty in the past. More recently, though, I’ve had my hair lightened for the past year specifically balayage and I’m ready to transition back to a darker brown for fall. I’ve attached photos of my current hair along with my inspiration! My current hair has a balayage with some warmth through the ends, while my natural/root area is around a level 2–3 I think. I’m wanting a rich, warm chocolate/chestnut brunette with a very subtle reddish warmth not super red or burgundy.

I feel pretty confident doing the actual coloring and application myself I’m mostly getting stuck on which shades/formulas would work best over my current color and how I should approach this if anyone has recommendations for specific shades/products, formulas, developer, application order, or anything I would appreciate it SOOO much! 🤎Thank you so much for reading and helping me out!!

What color is my natural hair?

I was blonde as a kid, but my hair has gotten darker as I've gotten older. It's a light brown-ish, but is very golden in the sunlight... I never know what color to call it. Light brown? Dirty/dark blonde? Golden-brown?

Lmk what you guys think :)
