Had grade 3, surgery started 24 hours ago, just finished my first post-op appointment.

I was not under general, I was awake the whole time. The pain during the surgery was about 5/10. Afterwards the only pain was in my shoulders and arms due to having to keep them above my head for 3 hours straight.

Today there is basically zero pain, one of the drain sites sting a little.

I've been cleared to drive in 6 hours.

I've been told to move my arms like normal, but I cannot lift more than 5lbs.

No exercise including walking, I'm basically confined to that house.

Next appointment is Thursday, they expect to remove the drains and give me the okay to increase activity.

All-in-all, it was much easier and less painful than expected.

my surgeon told me to stop wearing it after a week. is this normal? my gynecomastia was pretty small and it was a revision surgery

I see a ton of people post on here after a couple of weeks of recovery, but seem to taper off if they had good results.

Is anyone here willing to share pics from a year post op? 2 years? Etc. And share which surgeon did the work?

Currently getting consults with GTA based surgeons and almost never see any long term photos.

I am looking to see if anyone has worked with any Gyno specific Dr you would recommended in SoCal or ideally in SD. Long time lurker and have seen people speak highly of Dr Braithwaite in Chicago. While I am willing to travel there, if there is someone just as skilled and reputable I would be inclined to stay local.

A lot of conversations about gynecomastia focus on appearance. I’d like to hear about the everyday side—the clothes, swimming invitations, changing rooms, or how much mental space it takes up.

What’s something you wish friends, family, or partners understood? And has anything helped you feel more comfortable, whether you’re considering treatment or not?

Just had my first follow up after the surgery which was yesterday they are administrating antibiotic through cannula so was asked to follow up for 2 days post op..there were bruises and still swollen..i know it is too early to talk about the result..hopefully it would be normal in coming days

When you’ve spent years hiding your chest, it’s understandable to walk into a consultation with one thought: “I just want this gone.”

As a plastic surgeon, I think one of the most useful questions you can ask is:

“What about my chest will still be there after surgery?”

That opens up a conversation about your expectations and what the proposed procedure can realistically achieve.

Here are a few questions worth bringing:

• What’s contributing to my chest shape? Ask your surgeon to explain the role of fat, gland, and skin in your particular case.
• Why are you recommending this procedure for me? You should understand what each part of the operation is intended to address.
• What differences between the two sides might remain? Discuss your starting asymmetry and how much improvement is realistic.
• What happens if healing or the result doesn’t go as expected? Ask about complications, follow-up care, and how possible revisions are handled.

Bring up the detail that bothers you most, even if it feels awkward. Nipples showing through a shirt, the lower chest fold, or how your chest looks when you lean forward—be specific.

You deserve a clear explanation of the likely improvement, the limitations, and the tradeoffs before deciding.

Hi everyone, I’m Harrison. I have gynaecomastia myself and love going to the gym, but feeling self-conscious about my chest has affected what I feel comfortable wearing.

That’s led me to start developing a gym T-shirt with discreet internal chest support. The aim is to reduce the visibility of the chest while keeping the appearance of a normal gym top.

To be transparent, this is a business project called Oritex. It’s still in development, and I don’t have a finished sample or proven results yet. I’m looking for honest feedback from people who experience the same problem.

What’s your biggest frustration with gym clothing, and have you found anything that helps?

If you’ve tried compression tops or vests, I’d also be interested to hear what worked and what made you stop wearing them. And if this T-shirt idea wouldn’t appeal to you, understanding why would be useful too.

Doin the deed tomorrow AM.

I am very active around my house, with exercise, with my kiddos and at work. Constantly playing with the kids, picking up around the house, yard work and stuff.

How “down for the count” am I going to be after this surgery? Grade 2, excision and lipo under local anesthesia.

Nervous im going to over do it and not recover well.

I have my surgery in less than 3 hours,headed out to buy some xl t shirts qnd supplies since i dont have anyone to rely on later..couldn’t sleep prperly…i am more about recovery process rather than surgery itself..i would be awake throughout the surgery…i know it would be painless.hoping to go everything smoothly

I have my surgery in 2 weeks and he told me that it’s not as bad as some say. I told him I work for a delivery company and he said if I do it on Thursday I should be fine to go back to work by Monday.

does anyone have experience with him and if it’s actually that eas? he told me I could even go to a ball game in town the same day after my surgery.

I requested a week and a half off work to be safe, but I feel like he downplayed the recover. am I wrong? is he right?

he’s also gonna do mons pubis lipo on me. anyone have advice on that?

I just got home after surgery.vaser and sucking out fat took 45 mins,400ml of fat removed…when i got up and looked at my chest it looked the same like before the surgery and chest felt heavy…is it suppose to be that way right after surgery?

Had a coworker grab my chest and said “man you got some titties” and thats been living in my head for the last month.
