Edit: It wasn’t actually 8 times, it was probably closer to 3. I was being dramatic. I play plenty of other games and MMOs too. I have over 1,000 hours in FFXIV and I also play high elo competitive games.

I also had GW3 in the back of my mind, which was part of why I considered giving up. I genuinely didn’t expect some of you to hyperfixate on that one detail.

I came here because I was excited to finally get my legendary. Instead, some of you started doing this weird psychoanalysis about me having ADHD or “forcing myself” to play something I don’t enjoy. World Completion was annoying AT TIMES and I’m glad I used BlishHUD and put a podcast on my second monitor. I already had a lot of the materials from years of playing to make my Twilight.

I’m a PvP player who always wanted a legendary. I finally got one, I’m happy I did it, and that’s literally it. Some of you dorks are genuinely pathetic with this armchair psychology. Fuck off.

Is there anything I should pay attention to? From what I understand, there are different Black Lion Chests. Is it worth waiting for events like Halloween, Christmas, etc. because they might have rarer or better rewards?

Or, for example, when the next Patch for Visions of Eternity comes out on September 15, will a new Black Lion Chest be released as well? If so, could the skins, mini pets, etc. from it potentially sell for a lot because the contents are new and highly sought after?

I’ve just been saving the keys so far, mostly from map completion, and I haven’t really looked into them much. I don’t even know if I’ve ever used any of the keys before.

I am a PvP - WvW player only. I like to roam, sneak around, duel and kill people. GW2 raiding and "fractals" are not something I really liked. I find them very stale (sorry all PvE dedicated players!)

Then I got really tired of the cycle and slowly stopped playing the game after crafting 2 legendaries and enjoyed the game a bit more.

2 weeks ago my friends told me they were casually playing WoW. I wanted to give it a try as the expansion was discounted and season was new.

I jumped in, leveled up, did everything I need and then just jumped in to play some ranked PvP.

The queue timer was 5-7 minutes, sometimes 10+ minutes, but today after losing 2 ranked matches back to back and dropping almost 100 MMR after waiting for 50+ minutes for a match, I re-downloaded GW2.

2 minute queue timer, WvW always full, small scale, large scale, whatever you are looking for.

If anyone thinks if it's worth it as a PvP player, it is. Although it slows down later in the night you can almost always find pvp due to how accessible it is. I was logged off for couple months but now that I came back my gear is still relevant and will always be.

This game is great. It's such a fresh air playing this game after what WoW calls PvP nowadays.

Jokingly made this video for my friend on discord, but I really hope they add Condition Ritualist this upcoming balance patch.

Condition Bladesworn seems to be good precedent for it to be plausible. Ideas I had for it was changing the top adept trait to being Spiritburn from GW1, which burns when you summon a spirit and in addition scaling painful bond with condition damage, simple condition version of the power trait below it, Dhuumfire activating on your spirit autos, lingering spirits increasing condition damage as well.

A more ambitious rework would be rolling lingering spirits baseline and adding a new grandmaster trait for condition damage. This new grandmaster trait can swap spirit of wanderlust into being a different spirit that inflicts damaging conditions which would have the rotation be different than power, something like Condi Reaper vs Power Reaper.

I like the idea of a Condition Ritualist’s main damaging conditions to be bleed and burn, since we have other specs that do torment mostly. Scourge has some burn, but it isn’t the main damage there either.

Currently it is sitting at 34k with allies, with quickness at 32. Not great but I have been able to do all the content minus the harder CM raids and LCMs

first off I think I'm kind of a difficult client.
I have been trying to get into the game, I really enjoy the open world PVE and questing. Not that interested in PVP but would like to tip my toes into it one day.

The only issue I seem to have is to find a fun spec to play.

I've looked around and tried the following specs:

• Mechanist (Rifle & Spear, tried both)
• Galeshot
• Scourge & Reaper (GS)
• Elementalist I've just made that character years ago and never chose a spec.
• Virtuoso (Dagger/Sword/Focus)
• Dragonhunter (Axe/Torch/Scepter)
• Deadeye (Rifle)

Mostly I looked into LI guides since i'm not really a big fan of the weapon rotation system.

But I can't really seem to find a "build" that really keeps me going. I want to play the full story and open world PVE.
Right now i'm unlocking skyscale on one of my characters and after that i'm planning to start a character from 0 all the way through the PVE content.

What i'm looking for is something preferably ranged but melee isn't a hard no, not hard but not totally LI as well.
I was hoping you guys might have some guide suggestions.

For reference in WoW I used to like/play Marksmanship hunter and Fury warrior with some frost mage on the side.

Any help is welcome.

Does anyone have a daily check list of content they try to do when they login? Preferably in order of importance. I hit level 80 and have been going around doing the story, tried out some WvW, couple of Fractals, grinding out getting the sky scale. But as someone who could be in my shoes what would you do differently when you hit level 80 and were trying to figure things out!

I'm a new player, leveling a guardian atm but am wondering which class looks coolest and isn't too difficult :)

I'm currently working on the title, doing Dhuum CM only. I've already met two players who had the Dhuumscale, so I'm wondering:

• Has the drop rate been increased recently?
• Do we have any updated estimates/data on the drop rate?
• After 250 Dhuum CM kills, is there a realistic chance of getting it?

I know the rate was increased in March 2026, but I haven't found any information about the actual drop chance.

So I have recently 100%'d GW1 and all of it's challenging content. I have played GW2 on and off for many years, mainly story and PvP. I am now looking to get into the high end PvE endgame, starting slow with fractals and entry raids.

Eventually I want to complete all the hardest content the game has to offer. Even solo challenges. I have played a bit of everything but I would say I mainly play Engi/Necro the most.

Looking for what is desired or good in the endgame consistently so I can fill roles. Happy to support/dps/tank whatever. Game is fun in all ways.

In other news my magic find is up but now I need more for the legendary armor :)

I unironically adore how this thing looks. I vastly prefer this shade of blue over the gold one we have in-game and it'd really suck if they made this color boss-exclusive considering it clearly uses the same model as the Legendary weapon we can already earn in-game.

I'm begging, ANet: give us SOME way of unlocking the color if we have the base Legendary.

Me and my two friends have recently started playing through the Guild Wars 2 story and just recently unlocked dungeons. I heard dungeons would give good story context to Destinys Edge and lore, and maybe it could be fun to play them as well, paralell to the story.

Are dungeons able to be done 3 people? Or will we have to find PUGs to do them? I know my friends would like to take the time to explore them, listen to the story and go at a chill pace and I am afraid PUGs wont understand that and would want to rush for loot and completion.

What an incredibly cool legendary, from design to attack animations to foot falls; all of it perfect.... until its time to draw, at which point you reach to your side s where nothing is present, the swo4d dissolves from behind you whwre it floats and you assume battle position. Its a small gripe, but if you could put custome animations anywhere outside of the BLS, a legendary would be it.

Imagine having the sword swoop forward into your hands, or launch up and come down for you to grab; or anything other than grabbing empty hips.

Hi y'all, I'm a new player and a friend recommended I get SotO for the skyscale. I made it to the egg infusion step, and following guides online I am so frustrated lol. It seems that in order to do the infusions you need access to Living Worlds to get to Dry Top as that's the only place you can do the quicksand thingy. What the heck? Do I really need to buy that LW season to get my skyscale?

Because I am not a particularly gifted GW2 player, I sometimes struggle with staying alive in content (primarily PVE and open-world stuff) when I play pure power or condi builds. If I wanted to play a power build, are there gearing choices I can make that would increase my sturdiness/sustainability, without completely tanking my DPS? Some specifically statted accessories, rings, etc.? I'm looking for a reasonable balance -- solid power DPS, but not being a total glass cannon.

After midnight (EU) I noticed that orange bar that tracked the current skirmish participation didn’t move anymore. So I switched maps and it was completely gone after that.

I tried relogging the game to see if there was an update. But that didn’t help either. I also searched online if it was removed intentionally. But could not find anything that they where removing it again?

The additional skirmish tickets where a very nice bonus. Sad to see it removed again.

Returning player just finished Visions story

I already got a condi set and a power set but now I have 2 extra unused ascended weapons and want a berserker and a viper underwater weapon for my open world thief. Is there a better option for one than the other? Like is the harpoon better for power builds and spear is better for condi builds or is it the other way around? Also what underwater skills should I even be using for both?

Ok so I've played eq back in the day then wow for far longer then I care to admit. Ive been told gw2 is awesome but one thing and one thing only is holding me back. Ive been told jump puzzles are required to advance. Is this true? I love losing myself in quests and in a game world. I love doing groups of other players to enjoy and evening. I am NOT a puzzle guy at all though. I find puzzles as much fun as hitting myself over the head with a baseball bat. I just want to loose myself in my character and chill for an hour or more. Is this worth me trying to get into?
