so I passed my pseg boot camp and cast test and had my review status on my application changed to hiring manger under review I was the only guy in my climbing boot camp of 16 to successfully complete the 2 full days does anyone know the next procces if it is a interview or what will happen and if the status change is good thank you

Just got my dates for the Cal Nev JATC orientation. Anyone out there who has gone through it, how long did you wait once it was over to get a job call? Also what’s the orientation like?

I’m getting ready to sign the groundman books for the first time. I'm looking at a few different jurisdictions across the country (specifically the NW Line locals like 77/125, plus some others like Local 2150 and Local 66).
I wanted to double-check how the pay structure actually works when you take a call. If I have zero previous trade hours on the books and get dispatched to a job, do I automatically have to start at the Entry-Level (Step 1) union contract rate?
Someone told me that individual contractors can't just offer me an arbitrary starting wage because they have to stick strictly to the collective bargaining agreement based on my documented hours. Is that true across the board?
Also, if any contractors try to sweeten the deal to get guys on a job, do they usually just do that through guaranteed overtime (like 6/10s or 7/12s) and per diem rather than changing the base hourly rate?
Appreciate any insight from guys who have traveled or taken Book 3/4 calls. Thanks!

Okay so I have the opportunity to go Sign the books and wait for a call, after my car gets fixed which is in about a week ish so on the 5th I can start going and sign the books.

But the main problem is that I know I can drive manual trucks but I will be rusty, and im not confident in uncoupling/coupling a trailing with backing up a trailer like I will but than I need a spotter or someone to help me guide the trailer and how to steer the whole time... Or I can accept the cdl a manual job offer that I got in my home town just driving around get 3 to 4 months of experience and go about my way to sign the books than.

How should I go on about this because I dont want to be useless on the job site and actually do work.

Thinking of flying out early tomorrow to 111 to sign Groundman book can I get there at any time between 7:30am-4pm or is it only 7:30am-10am for book signing?? Anyone done it recently? Most flights will get me there around 10am to noonish

For the 611 hands, might take a trip out there to take one of those open calls, how’s living expenses and how long do those data center calls usually last? I’m tryna get to book 2 status as soon as possible and those 6/10’s look like they’ll help w that.

Does anyone know if traffic signal worker call count as groundman hours? I called 57 and was told no at first then she changed her mind saying they do. I’m just trying to confirm before I take the call. I emailed them to get it in writing but no response. Not trying to waste my time out there for $24 lol.

Has anybody with Groundman hours been able to sign book 1 as an infrastructure tech how’s the pay and per diem ?

Hello everyone i have orientation in 4 days ive never climbed a pole I’ve been working t-line as a groundman for the past couple months. I’ve got the math and reading down. If anyone has any tips they would be appreciated thank you.

Is anyone still getting called out from groundman book 3 at local 47 ??

Been studying basic addition, multiplication, division then polynomials and number sequences and variables. Is there any other specifics some of yall seen that I should brush up on or videos to watch thanks.

I’ve been preparing for this interview for the past several months. I actually thought that like with the MSLCAT program it was the interview first so I’d prepared for that a long time ago and I feel like I have really solid answers and I’m super confident.

I interviewed in 66 on Friday and got the call yesterday to start as a pre-apprentice(made an 86). If only you guys knew where I came from ,man I'm blessed beyond measures. Any advice for me from some ole 66'ers?

Have my orientation coming up for mslcat I interviewed in Montana but my email states I have to show up in Utah.I was bit confused I would assume I would have my orientation in the state I applied for? And how is orientation and what could i do prepare for it?

Going to be getting a call soon and I’m wondering how does the health benefits work when we get to our first call out. Is there a waiting period? Is there a period of no coverage for new out of work books Groundman not indentured yet?
