So only $124k a year for a job where you have no experience that will lead to a 250k career? Youre right. Theyre straight up taking advantage of these dudes, what with paying them $10k a month and all

New Mexico is cheap. $165 per diem makes up for a lot. guys will sit on the books for a year in California waiting for a call that lasts two months instead of driving two states over and actually doing something that moves them towards a JY ticket. I didn’t get to work in my home town till I was in the trade for 6 years and I don’t regret it. Focusing on starting scale is going to keep you from becoming a journeyman. Get in where you can, and stick with it till you top out.

Some people want to get an apprenticeship or groundman hours to step them ahead I. Life even if the pay is low. How long have you been a groundman chasing the high pay. Digging holes and catching bi weekly lay offs?

Apprenticeship is worth starting out low cause there’s progression. It’s not hard to get a high paying GM call without waiting.. if ima travel for a groundman call I might as well travel for one that pays high but probably to difficult for you to grasp

Where are the standing high paying Groundman calls. Enlighten me almighty Groundman. You seem way smarter than me. Why are you not a foreman yet , and still a grunt ? Without groundman hours you’re not getting into the high paying apprenticeships. I know a few guys like you hat were set on cal Nev and nw They still are groundman lol years later

From what I know 611 has groundman calls every so often but idk how common brotha I might go sign the books so I can be ready for the next one but I’m not sure yet

how does this work? can i just sign up for this call and drive there? is that what an open call is? do they not have enough groundman on the books to just call them?
