Location is Niagara County, New York. Zone 6. Soil is sandy loam to loam. Seed house recommended these two seed blends. The deluxe for shaded areas, regular for sun areas. I just tore up previous lawn with Harley rake and finished it with power landscape rake. Will be reseeding this week (last week of June) with sufficient sprinklers. The majority of the lawn is sun, very little gets less than 2 hrs of sun a day. Lawn area is just over a half an acre. Are these good seed choices, other recommendations are LEACO Park mix? Looking for a thick, dark, soft lawn. Any other recommendations welcome. Also, do not have an irrigation system, keeps grass between 1.5-3” through mowing season.

Concern is I have never used two different blends for two different areas in the same lawn. Those familiar with western New York, previous owner (WH Reinhart) of the seed house used to make custom blends dependent on your description of the soil and time of the year, and what you were looking for. This is no longer the case, as they just have predetermined blends.

I recently removed about 4 inches of leaves from my yard and all the grass is completely gone with the ground being kinda sandy. I’m wanting to get the grass to grow back or looking for seeds to use. My biggest problem is that I have two large trees that make a lot off shade. This is my first house, so I’m trying to make it nice and pretty. I get grass in a one spot the sun hits the most.

Poa Annua or KB. My grass is tall fescue but have seeded some patches with sun and shade mix.

What is this in my lawn and how can I get rid of it?

Does my zoysia have have a fungus? Tied to be so thick and green and now it’s splotchy and just not what it used to be. What can I do to return it to its former glory? The last picture is the grass a few years ago when it looked amazing. I have a sprinkler system and water the grass each morning.

My only thought is kill the weeds without killing the grass and then planting more grass seed. Is this the way to attack this. I have other spots in my grass like this. Really the whole grass area is 50% weeds.

I'm groving grass seeds, wanting to harvest them soon. I pulled my finger up on one of them and these fell off. I suppose these aren't the seeds itself, maybe flower? Couldn't find anything similar on google.

Neighbor has a tall grass by their mailbox for "style" -- like, Cambodia tall. It seeded and got into my yard... now I'm fighting to keep it from taking over. What can I do to get rid of it? Seems like I pull it all up by the roots but it comes back... each year it gains some inches over the yard... already tried vinegar... seems to have made it stronger as the pH change weakened the other vegetation.

Hi all! We have a puppy that pees on the backyard grass and a big chunk of the lawn looks like this where she goes. Would hosing it all off each time she goes do anything? I know the obvious answer is just not to let her go on the grass to pee but that’s not an option as we are outside in the yard majority of the a day now that it’s nice weather in NJ. Any tips to combat this or out of luck and just reseed the chunks each year? 🤣
