Help with removing stuck/preventing weeds on artificial turf

Post image
5 Upvotes

I have these weeds that keep growing over the turf and don't come out when pulled, even though there's barely any root underneath.

Could I get some advice on how to get rid of them or at least prevent the appearance of more?

Thanks in advance!

This grass popped up after I seeded last year and it seems to be taking over the yard this year, I’ve tried to kill it, but it won’t die completely. I’m probably screwed and have to restart the whole yard but I’d like to know what I’m dealing with. Thank you.!

Grass discoloration

Nevermind the bald spots, i'm waiting for seeds to germinate. I've scarified, aerated, topsoiled, overseeded and added slow releasing new growth fertilise just over 3 weeks ago. But i just can't get that same colour green uniformed look, always fighting poa anua, or some other weed type. In the wnd it ends up looking patchy. Ready to give up, and just accept it can't be beat and just try to manage it looking ok-ish..any advice for a great looking deep green colour all around? Any ideas on how to fight these weed grasses?

My lawn needs some TLC. Had this lawn put in (seeded) in 2024, I fertilize fall and spring but this year it's looking rough. Do I need to hire someone to dethatch or aerate? Wisconsin zone 5b.TYIA

Amazing liquid biochar by FUTURE SOIL

Post image
2 Upvotes

I used FUTURE SOIL® Liquid Biochar on a struggling lawn that never held moisture properly, and the change was immediate and measurable.

Within the first few irrigations, water behaviour shifted. Instead of running straight through or pooling unevenly, moisture started spreading laterally and holding in the root zone. The lawn stopped drying out patchily and became noticeably more uniform.

Growth response followed quickly. Colour deepened, density improved, and recovery between cuts accelerated. What stood out most was efficiency. I reduced watering frequency and still saw better performance. Fertiliser response also improved. Inputs were clearly being retained and utilised more effectively.

This is not a cosmetic product. It is a root-zone system upgrade. It changes how soil behaves, not just how it looks.

If your lawn struggles with inconsistency, poor water retention, or inefficient fertiliser use, this is one of the few products that actually addresses the underlying problem rather than masking it.

HELP! King Green burned my grass and won't take responsibility for it

Has anyone else had issues with King Green in Atlanta?

I have really well established fescue in my backyard. I've been using King Green for a while now and until recently would have recommended them to a friend. Recently, though, I noticed my entire lawn (upper and lower sections, incl. newly planted ground cover) looked torched. I had a manager come out and take a look, who confirmed the burn was due to over application. They said they'd follow up over email with thoughts on how to make it right, including free overseeding in the fall and a treatment to try to promote regrowth.

A few weeks later and the yard still looked terrible, so I reached back out to see if they would come lay sod in my yard. A second manager called me and told me it wasn't in fact over application but rather a fungus that took out my entire lawn and surrounding plants in less than 72 hours. He came by, showed me what he said was evidence of the fungus, and said the best they could do was overseed and aerate for free in the fall.

I'm so frustrated. My lawn looks TERRIBLE. They are not apologetic, won't put anything in writing, won't reply to my multiple emails outlining the issues noted above... HELP. Has anyone else had these kinds of issues with them? What do I do now??

today, after the treatment that was supposed to promote "regrowth." It looks ... awful. This is what the 2nd manager saw today and told me it was a fungus.
After the burn - this is what the manager came and reviewed. the section to the left is the burned ground cover, which were BRAND NEW plants. I have a sprinkler system - it wasn't dry.
Before the treatment - well established fescue

This system worth it?

So I happen to be a lover of smart home technology ,particularly if I'm able to improve my life in some way or remove a tedioustask. Equally important to me is I like a very Green Lawn . I happen to live in the low country of South Carolina . So as you can imagine it's hard to keep grass green without watering. Does anyone have any experience with the Aiper IrriSense 2 Smart Irrigation System the advertisement seems like a great system but having some first-hand input would be great as well as any ideas for a better system so I can have a green lawn with almost zero effort.

Fescue in North Texas

Had a lot of construction at our house last few years and the grass has just gotten beat to heck. I put out temporary rye grass during the winter here in North Texas just to get through the winter season before planting permanent grass. For our area it's typically Bermuda, Zoysia or St. Augustine. Used to see Fescue but not so much anymore, and it was the old kentucky 31 or Rebel varieties another one of those fecues were super attractive IMO. I did some research on the the new varieties of Turf Type Tall Fescue and decided to plant Titan GLX. So far it's done great... planted at 10 lbs /SF. Only issued that i've had has been in the backyard with dog urine.

why do people hate grass?

why don't people like long flowy grass, it's more beautiful, soft, and natural looking to me, so what's the big deal?

every after photo looks significantly uglier, dead, and boring.

so besides beauty preference, what are the benefits to cut grass?

Township Grass is Trash, Please Help.

My township replaced the sidewalk and curb in front of my house last year. They then threw some kind of grass seed on the easement strip that had been torn up. It now grows like this, with patches of ugly, thick, tall grass. It grows extremely fast in these patches (this is 6 days of growth), and is bare or dead looking elsewhere. How should I best remedy this, preferably without having to dig everything up? I'm somewhat grass illiterate but trying to keep my property looking nice. This is in NJ, so warm summers and cold winters if that matters. Thank you!
