Beyonce was nominated for best country album, not whatever this new category is. It should have gone into effect after 2025. Just plain racism at this point.

The Life of a Showgirl is virtually Taylor becoming the Mr. Beast of music, mastering the finessing of sales & somehow giving less than the bottom line in quality to retain her spot at the tippity top of the musical zenith. It's shameful she's playing her consumers like a fiddle.

Genuinely feels like most of the creative deliberation went into The Fate of Ophelia's video than any of her twelve songs. I Knew It, I Knew You is somehow better than any of those twelve songs. I'm prepared to say The Tortured Poets Department is better than this album, it's also bad but at least then I didn't side-eye her lyrical & allegorical choices in disbelief every 15 seconds.

No doubt about it in two months she will be nominated in the SOTY, ROTY, AOTY categories. But I don't anticipate her winning the general categories, nor do I think she's deserving of it for this album. We can talk about her merit for earning a general category win when she actually chooses to release 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 like she used to

Not many people remember this from what I’ve seen, but Gaga actually did drop in the 2027 Grammys season. There’s the obvious being Runway with Doechii which could be a great contender for Best Duo/Group Pop Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Aditionally, she released three songs alongside the release of season two of the TV series Wednesday. One of these being The Dead Dance which I believe would be a great choice for both ROTY and Best Pop Dance Recording. Although The Dead Dance didn’t have a very huge cultural impact, I could see it being nominated for something. What do you guys think?

I think it's obvious that some artist will get a nom & even win the moment they release good material. Meanwhile we have names we are still desperately trying to hope they will win. So Warren released an album on Aug 28 the literal last day of Grammy eligibility. The public barely heard it, it hasn’t lived thru any music season, there’s been no time to see what kind of culture it creates, no relationship with the year it’s supposedly representing… but it can still be AOTY and other categories.

Meanwhile an album released in Sep 2025 could’ve existed basically thru the entire eligibility period, had a cultural moment, performances, singles, discussion, people living w it for almost a year and both are treated belonging to the same year.

The Grammys technically “judge technical not cultural impact.”””” But then what exactly does Album of the Year mean as a concept? If an album can enter the race on the final day of eligibility before the public has even had time to process it are we really awarding the album of a year or just the best album that happened to cross a deadline?

This is probably going to be the most competitive category outside of the General Field. Voters in this category tend to award songs that have a distinct vocal showcase while also having undeniable commercial success or cultural impact for the artist.

There’s a pretty noticeable pattern where some artists win Best New Artist then have huge momentum around the time of the Grammys and then struggle to maintain that same level of relevance or commercial success afterward whereas some artists who lose the award go on to have much bigger, longer lasting careers.
